Anyone here played Crystal Crisis or Redout and can share their thoughts? Thinking of picking up both...
Crystal Crisis is fine. It's basically Puzzle Fighter but not quite as good.

stores used to have a sort of "key" usually built into the counter that would open those. It was a theft deterrent thing. You'd have to break it to open it.

Is Ghost Babel the GBC one? I think it is. But if its not play that one too haha
yeah, Ghost Babel (or "GB") is the GBC one. That's the Japanese title anyway, in the US it was just "Metal Gear Solid."

You did play Metal Gear 2 and Ghost Babel right? Both 8-bit games, and both massively better than the NES port of the first game
I did. I love Ghost Babel, and that's basically what I'd envision. Another Ghost Babel. (I do personally enjoy the original NES game, though :D)

Half-joking answer would be a new 8-bit Metal Gear. But obviously that's not happening. But uh, random things that come to mind would be The Guardian Legend or Crystalis.

^sweet! I wasn't sure if that was getting a physical release.

6/10... when Coldplay came out with "Yellow," I remember thinking that Travis would be a huge band, and that in a year nobody would remember Coldplay. I was wrong on both counts.
I generally think that Coldplay is a pretty 'safe' band. They don't do anything amazing. But they don't do anything horrible. They're generally 'good,' in that I won't avoid hearing them. I usually like their singles. I haven't heard a full Coldplay album since A Rush of Blood, though. And I actually have a rather nostalgic fondness for Parachutes now.

I feel like a 51 Worldwide Games chess club would be super fitting for this forum.

Half my Amazon wishlist has been sold out since COVID disrupted supply chains
That's a fair point. Yeah.

Aren't the servers pretty dead for Splatoon? I tried to get on there at the beginning of the year and it could barely find me a game.
I don't know. I last played it in 2018 myself. But I figured it must still be fairly popular, as the Nintendo YT channel has recently been live streaming some kind of tournament.

So I have a random thought/observation... E3 and such announcements would normally be going on now-ish were it not for COVID, right? At the same time, I recently had the urge to get back into Splatoon 2, and am noticing that it seems to be sold out everywhere. None of the Gamestops, Best Buys, Walmarts or Targets in my area have it in stock. Even weirder, Target lists it as "no longer for sale," rather than just "sold out." My gut says that we should expect some new SKU, then. I don't know if I'm predicting Splatoon 3 exactly, but at the least I feel like this could be indicative of like Splatoon 2: Ultra Inky Deluxe Edition or whatever. Maybe. Or maybe it's just really popular right now, and sold out. Shrug.

I use the Hori split pad pro and I love it, way better than Joycons in handheld mode, not to mention they come with a real D-pad
I really need to pull the trigger on these at some point. For now, I use the Hori left-Joycon replacement thing w/ the real d-pad, but I still find it really hard to play certain games like FPS without a Pro Controller because I can't comfortable hold the Switch; AND reach the triggers; AND reach the analog sticks... I feel like the heft of those Hori splits would help a lot.

note to self: buy any cheap GCN sports games you see in the wild.

added a couple N64 games and Smash 3DS. Also, thinking about moving the FC Mobile 88 to ebay if there's no interest?
-
ugh. At some point I had decided that I wasn't going to go for a full Wii U set, so I ended up trading my Axiom Verge. But when I see another new game, I get that temptation again. :0
-
^dammit. I kind of want that Wii U version.

Play Asia sent out an email saying that COTM2 is not up for pre-order YET but will let us know when it is. So I'm not sure if that's confirmation of a physical release, or just optimistic thinking on their part.

added Trine 4 on Switch if anyone's interested in a trade.

@JamesRobot I haven't listened to Laika Come Home in years, but in the early 2000's that was a go-to album anytime we had cookouts, haha.

I want to like the original Metroid way more than I actually do. I actually tried to replay it when it came to Switch Online and I gave up after a couple of hours. I think Zero Mission really spoiled me, because that remake is so perfect.
Inversely - and maybe this belongs in the unpopular opinions thread - I sort of hated the Metroid II remake on 3DS, and actually prefer the original version between those two.

Appreciate the clarification!

yup, agreed. I loved both, can't say one is "better" than the other. If you prefer the NES Castlevanias, then Curse is for you. If you prefer SOTN and the GBA/DS games, then Ritual is the way to go. Both are awesome, though.

depends on your wife. My wife would hate Smash. And while she loves Tetris on its own, she can't enjoy the competitive version of it. You can't go wrong with Mario Kart, though.
