  1. London Calling is great! I really like Combat Rock as well. Just a bunch of classic rock stuff I collected years ago. Led zep, AC/DC, Def Leppard. Couple Beatles records as well (white album, revolver). Turntable is an old Soundesign I've had since I was a kid. Took a little elbow grease but got it turning again.
  2. That's pretty slick. I'm incredibly low-tech. I have a handwritten list of every box and manual I'm missing, and I cross it off when I find it. Never have to worry about a dead phone battery that way... then again, it's folded up in my wallet and pretty much falling apart.
  3. I do have some box protectors! I've got over 500 of them, I just need to get some more (like, another 25 currently). Upgrading is definitely not a bad idea, but honestly I don't buy on eBay and I rarely run into boxes locally. At the same time, I can't help feeling that some box is better than no box. How do you keep track of what you need to upgrade? Keep a list?
  4. Let me ask in the case of those two boxes, the other side on both is fine, turned the appropriate way on the shelf they'd display just fine. Would they make the grade?
  5. Don't turn around, there's even more.
  6. The Clash. My favorite band of all time, I recently dug my record player out of storage and have been thoroughly enjoying some old vinyl.
  7. So here goes, might as well broach this subject. At what point does level of damage completely wreck desirability? Obviously the game itself needs to function, and the manual be readable, but I'm thinking more of boxes. I recently picked up a few boxes I needed for my NES collection and the condition is wrecked. I'll be adding a picture. At the same time though, is it not better than a naked cart? For me, I'm alright with it, but I tend to feel something is better than nothing. What are your thoughts?
  8. Easy is kinda relative but Rockin Kats, the Rescue Ranger games, DuckTales, and the Little Mermaid are all fairly not hard with the important distinction of also being fun. Any of those would be a good jumping off point.
  9. That's a challenging jumping off point, but more power to you. Take the first Castlevania slow, don't even be afraid to pause and plan a strategy. It's a bear, but it's definitely doable. Also, the holy water subweapon is absolutely amazing throughout the game.
