  1. Well, it came in today, I cross compared it to my reproduction and other listings and it does look legitimate, I was able to also talk to a former grader who was able to help put me further at ease, so here as some images to look around if anyone cares!
  2. Well in that instance, you know it's a repro and that it has to be one. Have they ever knowingly graded a phony game while thinking it was real though?
  3. I just have a lot of anxiety over something this expensive, if there was some "magical" () way to know the box and everything was all good I'd feel better, I know people here say don't worry but I just don't know what they do to make sure it's not a repro. I mean hell the repro I have looks nice and if the difference is 5k for that box, I just want some idiot proof method to know I guess lol. I don't usually get jittery on this stuff, just this is likely the most ill ever spend and I'm def worried. It'll arrive tomorrow though!
  4. So earlier today the seller sent me a screen capture of the certification he had when he had it graded, and it contains images of the game and such, all the contents, but it doesn't show the inner clear tray and he said he honestly doesn't recall if it had one or not. I guess what I'm asking is, would they photograph that or mention it in any sense, or is there any way to know it was in there when it was slabbed, outside of maybe weighing it against the weight of a sealed one or something? I'm not sure if sealed magical chases came with more inserts than the manual and tray though.. I think it would be ok to post the screen shot anyways? Also, is there no way to log that you're now the owner of an item or have it transferred, it seems kinda weird for a service basically dictacted by reselling that there would not be such an option. I see it list the sleeve, so I guess I'm curious if they would list 'plastic tray' if it were there, please excuse the ignorance, I have literally never delved into this stuff until the last few days.
  5. I think my main concern is you see many people claim that WATA has made mistakes and slipped through phony items, but it's hard to parse that information away from what is a smear campaign (no matter how justified). It seems impossible to really find out much about what makes them so qualified in the first place. I suppose less slanted information is the goal I seek rather than the ones with agendas on YouTube, heh.
  6. Well it's already WATA graded which is the problem. I can't look at it myself and that makes me nervous lol. I should have it in hand in a few days, I've just never had something I can't look over myself.
  7. Hey all, I want to preface this with saying I'm not really a fan of grading, I've never had anything graded and I'm not entirely sure I'll be keeping this one in its shell, but I might just for the novelty. I have nothing against people who like grading either, it just doesn't really fit with how I typically collect. I bought it graded and that's as far as I can say at the moment. That being said, I know WATA has some kind of authentication method, but I'm not sure how reliable or accurate it is. The discourse around WATA these days is so toxic that it's hard to parse out what they do genuinely well for an outsider. I know there was a controversy about them incorrectly authenticating some prototype cartridges for the SNES, but I cannot find any other information to back up or discredit them in this fashion otherwise. Does anyone have any insight on this? As someone who has collected for about 15 years I've learned a lot can be determined just by feel and look, so being unable to look around the contents and attempt to get opinions online makes me get anxiety with a purchase that I'll be paying down for a whole year. I feel guilty for buying it despite wanting it forever due to the going rate, but I'd feel better knowing that it's 100% legit and am not sure how I should proceed. Also, I notice they seem to serialize and have some kind of QR code but I can't find anyway to determine what that is for, I figured it would be a database to prove it was them who did it, but I can't seem to find info on that either. I find users here tend to be the most level headed and reasonable when it comes to this sort of thing so I'm reaching out in hopes my worries can be quelled. I'm not really sure how much of a known commodity this particular game is aside its notorious price, so I wasn't sure the best place to turn. Any help is appreciated, thanks all, I'll post pictures when it arrives
  8. So this was a fun one, I have what I call my original list, which is basically games that I've had on my list since the very beginning to find, and for whatever reason Peace Keepers and Sonic Blast Man 2 always eluded me. I still need the cart and manual for Sonic Blast Man 1 but wanted to take the picture. In the case of the top 3 games they are all part of the same series so it's awesome to finally compete that bit of trivia
  9. These aren't.. Recent, but more so just the time they are gonna be put away, very slow progress lately. I've been on a Capcom kick, I don't plan to go for every Capcom PC release, but I believe I now own every Capcom made or published game on consoles and portables aside one.. Someday!
  10. Do you happen to know the general condition and price range they had it for? I'd be interested, though, it's always been a distant possibility up to now so it would be surreal.
  11. 15 years later I have finally chipped off everything I really ever could have wanted in my retro collecting, bypassing only the Neo Geo due to the mortgage level expense that entails. A bunch of people here helped and I appreciate it, too many to list but you all know. Thanks all, happy to be done!
  12. Same, I had to wrestle with myself quite a bit to even allow myself to go this far lol, I go for full company sets and other things but I really don't intend to dabble on the PC side much, only if there is something unique really.
  13. MSX had the definitive versions of Metal Gear as well right? I don't know a lot about platforms outside the US but I've heard that multiple times.
  14. This is probably a bit too vague or limited scope of a topic to really get any insight on, but one of the criteria in my collecting goals is typically to avoid bothering on PC platforms due to the complications of the platform, as well as of course the lack of physical media in the last decade or so. With that said though, while I don't plan to extend my broader goals onto these platforms (like collecting every Capcom game is one of my goals but I don't plan to do it on these platforms), I suppose I have always had a mild curiosity as to games that may exist within prolific franchises that are unique or exclusive to that platform. As example, there is an exclusive PC release of Atomic Bomberman that I don't believe exist anywhere else, I know the Worms series was prolific there and I know there are at least 2 exclusive Mega Man games that happen to be awful as example. But my knowledge here is limited at best, so for all I know some amazing version of a Castlevania game, or a shitty but unique version of a Final Fight game, may exist as a US release on these platforms and I would be none the wiser. I figured maybe someone here might have some insight on interesting/unique/exclusive games that might exist on the platform that otherwise were primarily arcade/console/portable releases. If anyone has any trivia or info to share please do!
  15. I only got confused because I saw those releases on pricecharting under US releases, but I had never bought from them really due to being a US collector, seems I wasn't wrong at least so hopefully these are it. This was a very difficult series to finish despite having started years ago. I could just never justify pulling the trigger at whatever price they were at the time, it's no surprise that Super Turrican 2 is the one that finally did me in for spending for awhile lol.
  16. If I'm not mistaken I think I finally have all the US releases of this series, I don't think the strictly limited stuff is US anyways so I don't have that. The third snes game isn't a game though, just a box that game with my Analogue NT but what better time huh?
  17. The answer is likely going to vary entirely based on what people are looking for. Stuff like TG16 for example seems far less these days, same for game gear and so forth, but I've noticed increases in other platforms too.
  18. To my understanding this is all of the US releases for Ninja Boy, took a long time for such a small series.
  19. It seems a bit interesting to not count a LRG release, meanwhile people require like, Nintendo World Championship or something bizarre like that as if that counts for anything. Would someone say that Double Dragon 4 or Neon From LRG doesn't count, but Final Fight Guy on SNES does despite never having a formal retail release?
  20. Put away some more stuff today, for the first time in a long time I don't really have much on the way.
  21. Yeah, based on my expectations I was surprised it didn't go higher, but happy obviously. Kind of shows the state of the hobby as this point though.
  22. Got 2 pick ups today, one completed my set for the Taro games so I bundled a picture of them.
  23. Not really videogames but I got some more swag to put up today and decided to do some of it. I added lights to an area because it ended up being a bit dark. I'm only displaying new perler beads in these shots but I had fun with putting them up.
  24. Thanks for the suggestions thus far, I'll take a look at them and see if anything seems promising!
  25. Do you know what country they operate out of? I just notice the note on Vat/taxes, but don't see that specifically. Might be just missing it though.
