  1. So we all collect in a variety of ways, full set, partials, things we like, whatever. One thing I wonder if others can relate on is just not being able to find existing stock of something. In my case, I've had 3 game gear games on my list (boxed with manual) that I simply never see listed. They aren't particularly high desired items and I think that's part of the problem, they are scarce but not high value and no one is looking to 'cash in' on them. Those games being Krusty's fun house, James Pond and Speedy Gonzales in my case. I've come close to simply removing them from my list so I can say I'm done, but you never know what can pop up. Another oddball for me is Rampage on the 7800, it just never pops up these days and is the last one I wanted, I put my 'finished' sets in the back of my spreadsheet to keep narrowing it down, and these little jerks just drive me nuts. How about you? Any weird hurdles you just can't overcome?
  2. I did a tiny modification today in one area. Figured I'd share along with the small things I do from here. The new thing is the Xbox logo, no more space there now.
  3. I'd say if you can't buy the crux of the library in a Gamestop, it's probably retro
  4. https://limitedrungames.com/collections/neo-frontpage/products/sega-saturn-sega-cd-replacement-jewel-cases-10-pack-preorder Is that not them?
  5. So something of a bother for awhile now, I've been trying to obtain inlet trays for the game gear, just to help keep the boxes safe. The only seller I've ever seen have them only ships within Europe from what I can see. I was wondering if anyone knew a work around or if someone would be willing to obtain a set and then ship them to me? Obviously at my cost, the seller refuses to ship anywhere else unfortunately. This is the item below, unless someone knows of an alternative. https://www.ebay.de/itm/253473470268 If this isn't permitted here then apologies, just an unusual thing.
  6. Based on your name, I assume you are aware of the struggle more than most. I could tell stories of the kind of packaging I've seen stuff arrive in, and how they end up surprised the game was destroyed. It's such a shame when you look at it as one less of a thing that you know is already scarce due to sheer negligence. I suppose it makes the victory a bit more satisfying though in some way.
  7. They are just plastic but, haven't been damaged just yet. Actually, i'd be more worried about it crashing to the floor. Thankfully so far the only mishap we had was a flying air hockey puck which didn't cause real damage
  8. Not to stroke myself, I tend to just have a lot of attention to detail in most stuff I decide to take on. I spent weeks going through each game that existed on every system of even a little interest before coming up with personal sets which are all individually logged, which really was probably thousands of hours of research. Sites like Nintendoage though were invaluable assets to that cause and it was really a shame to see what happened to such helpful information. It's such a bizarre mix of work and fun though, aside the expense which has been problematic, it's difficult to organize and manage so much. It might seem like the game selections are random, but they are oddly tailored to my specific taste or things I find interesting in a historic or relevance sense at least. I guess in my case, I wanted it to represent my taste in gaming, which started with the 2600 and still persist today with modern consoles, though Nintendo and Sega are my heart throbs When I spend time in the room though, even if I just decide to watch tv, I do get a sense of happiness and memories of all the work and effort that went into it, it did help my fiancee has been involved for most of it too which makes it more fun. We used to go 'picking' at stores to find stuff, just kind of dried up these days.
  9. I actually own every Amiibo that has released in the US I believe, but in that case I only put in the Smash series and did them according to their Smash number for Ultimate
  10. Yeah, though it can be a bit restrictive. The original owners of the house had the pool table there so, what we did was just measure how far it was from the wall already and duplicate those conditions when placing the shelving measurement wise. We have those short pool sticks too, with the long ones only being used for reach. It isn't ideal i'd say, but it works. I also strategically placed the DS and other hard case titles there just in the event of a bump, but now that figures and such are there, it's basically mutually an adult only thing due to the care needed. I've been looking into ways to try and put a clear barricade around the figures but, have not been able to come up with what i'd call an elegant solution there.
  11. Thanks, I don't want to know how much of my actual life I spent setting it up, or the amount of wires I had to conceal lol.
  12. So in the early days I posted pictures of my game room but, it was lacking in the refinements. Since then things have been reconfigured, things added (pong table, first 4 figures, etc) and in general things just refined and cleaned up. In other words, I don't plan any further changes to it outside of anything that is added over time, so I figured i'd post it again. Many people from Nintendoage and Segaage had sold games that reside here now, over 12 years of effort. Eventually I'd like to take more pictures of my personal full sets but that's a pretty big undertaking, so only a few are present near the end. I'll post a few pictures but, click the link if you want to scroll through it, there are a few videos buried in there too on the short side. Link to the whole album https://photos.app.goo.gl/rivXTf4kUAdcgAbQ8 Edit: The album changed and broke the pics, will fix later.
  13. I'd say if your area has enough moisture to trap it in the case you're already not storing them right. Def need to keep a dehumidifier running at minimum.
  14. So I got my first batch of these to test out. Hard to photograph but like stated earlier they really do eat up shelf space. I would say I lost about 4 games per shelf if you don't compress them down. Only the lynx and game gear were done.
  15. Dealtavern on Ebay. He uses stock photos so you dont know what will come.
  16. I love Circus Atari, played it with the lady recently. They are definitely simple archaic games but they have a charm to them.
  17. I got these in one shot today, they were blind buys but I only noticed minor issues with maybe 2 of them.
  18. It has to be something personal or something I find fascinating on some level. My game area very much represents my taste more or less, with the main exclusion being the LRG releases (since they kinda sucked me in from the start)
  19. They're good in terms of having resources and entertainment, bad in terms of driving up cost (or good if you're into that sort of thing)
  20. Hey all, so I was going over my PSP stuff to see what things I needed to fill in or fix/tweak, one odd thing I noticed was that one of my games has a clear UMD case rather than the normal white one. I assume this is just a generic replacement, but upon looking for them on eBay it almost feels like there are more like that than of normal ones. Does anyone know if it's a weird variant or something, or just a coincidence? The game in question is Blade Dancer, the one on eBay looks like this as does mine. Just trying to see if I need to snag another.
  21. Added a list for PSP, haven't gotten many bites but maybe you all have that?
  22. I started collecting about 12 years ago, though I don't recall it being popular when I began, a lot of the stuff I got was very cheap or junk to many. I remember being able to amass a large amount of 32x titles for very little. I regret not having more money at the time to deal with it, but in fairness I also went well beyond my initial dream too. Interestingly I began collecting only because my Fiancee had skipped the generations between 2600 and N64, so I bought Genesis/Snes stuff and we had fun with it, so it just kinda spiraled into a thing more and more.
