I seem to recall Total Annihilation having that slightly plasticy pre-rendered-3d look, a la Killer Instinct or Donkey Kong Country

PS1 is just not a platform I ever will revisit, outside of maybe 3 or 4 games

This movie was a victim of its own success. I remember laughing so hard when I first saw it, but having to endure everyone's Borat impressions for the next 5 years, moved it into Napoleon Dynamite territory.

So one of these hmmm... I'm going with Total Annihilation

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?
-
looks like an RTS
-
seriously... people are way too concerned about what other people vote for. This is subjective.

I don't like the look of the video playthrough.

@fox what game is “greylancer”?
horizontal shmup with a lot of storyline cutscenes

these are some of my favorites... maybe not top 10 but they're on the list... but I tried to consider what OTHER people would enjoy or made an impact on gaming.
Frostbite
Warlords
Yar's Revenge
Mike Tyson's Punchout
Super Mario Bros
Katamari Damacy
Shadow of the Colossus

I mostly like their originality and style, but the gameplay is just ok. Making Ecco swim and jump out of the water just feels right, and Toejam and Earl's funky 90s vibe is irresistible.

I couldn't think of any other genres off the top of my head to add. RTS, racing, puzzle, IDK.
you can see my top ten. I but mostly avoid FPS, strategy, fighting, RTS, Racing, sports, RPG, and shmup. I stick to arcade-action, platformers, and occasionally puzzle, with a few outliers. and an occasional run'n'gun or beatem'up

And yet you voted for Moonwalker, . I assume you're more of a SHMUP, RPG, or sports game guy?
You would assume wrong. Those are some of my least liked genres. I'm mostly an (single-screen) arcade guy.

haven't played any of these.

I enjoyed Moonwalker, but Gain Ground is so damn good! Seriously, if you haven't played it, try it! It's available on many systems such as Genesis, Mega Drive, SMS, PS2 (Japan), and is also an arcade cab. It was part of the Sega Genesis Collection for PS2 (my preferred playing method) and PSP as well as on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for PS3 and Xbox 360.
I'm not interested in either of them. I watched videos of gain ground and it is not for me.

Probably not. I'll just watch a movie if I wanna watch a movie.
I dunno. Interactive movies can be cool sometimes. I enjoyed Black Mirror: Bandersnatch

Ecco vs Toejam is rough.. they both deserve to advance.

Would this movie still be a thing if it weren't for the midnight showings with all the inside jokes and audience participation? Watching it at home as just a movie, its 1960s Batman levels of campy, with a couple catchy songs, but didn't really hold my interest.

This was the closest comparable listings I could find: https://www.ebay.com/itm/175509601732?itmmeta=01HSBZZ5GSF27MVYSCWGGCR90W&hash=item28dd2ffdc4:g:E40AAOSwPtJllGqD
I'd guess gameboy store display tray is more collectible than an world of nintendo store display tray...

a gun turret over the water... I'm guessing its some 8-bit Shmup.... 1943

in the photos, its always pictured with about a pound of cheese piled on top. Probably equal parts chili to cheese.

what's your approach going to be? Favorites first? or do you want to get some of the chores out of the way early?

I haven't played Snatcher but I've played Castle of Illusion and I found it thoroughly average. Sega fans talk it up like it's Mario 3 or something.
I only briefly played Castle of Illusion. Haven't played Snatcher, so I'm going off of playthrough videos on youtube and Snatcher looks great... plus I like to see other genres represented besides just shmups and platformers

Comix Zone isn't even good. The question is whether Splatterhouse 2 is
ComixZone earns most of its points for its concept, but it is very lackluster in the execution.
