Love Balloon Fight. It's probably my favorite black box game behind Super Mario Bros. Anyway, here's my current score.

310,250. Must have been the beginning of phase 13 or 14.

I think my second favorite is Kung Fu, but it is great. Best Joust on the NES.

Whatever became of Jeff Rovin and what does he look like?  Quite the man of mystery for us retro gamers, no?  And IIRC isn't the graphics in Rad Racer the only time he awarded an A+ (calling 'Frisco and LA at night "miracles")?  I don't know if he ever gave any category in a game a full F and I don't think he gave out very many D's either.

Rad Racer does look great and has a nice sensation of speed for an 8-bit racer. He also loved the graphics in Life Force. I'm surprised that didn't also get an A+.

If there's any time for a clean-up, then this is it. The remaining titles aren really unpopular and/or very difficult. So if you and @ZeldaFreak want to contribute, you're very welcome.

There are still some major hurdles like Arkanoid, Bases Loaded I, III and IV, Championship Pool, Gauntlet, Hunt for Red October, Ikari Warriors (no ABBA code!), Kung Fu Heroes (I never made it past 7-4), Rally Bike, Silkworm (the last level is crazy hard!), Sky Kid, Top Gun: The Second Mission and Time Lord.

Personally, I'm not even sure what I can contribute at this point in the challenge. Most of the games are way too difficult for me. I could maybe brute force my way through Back to the Future II & III, like a few years ago, but I really don't want to do this again. Athena has unlimited continues, iirc. But I still remember getting stuck in the water level.

Captain Marvel seems like the most normal and beatable of the remaining games.

I once spent two weeks trying to beat Kung Fu Heroes (no continue code) and gave up at 8-4. At least there are warps but it's still hard.

I mostly missed 90% of Ren and Stimpy... I might have seen a few episodes, but I barely remember it... I mainly remember it through OTHER kids being obsessed about it and talking to me about Log / Powdered Toast Man, "Stimpy you eediot!", and gross close ups of rotting teeth/nerve endings... I did go through a phase in college where I was fairly interested in Spumco's flash animations and comic books, and John K's blog was a fascinating look into art and animation analysis. Then I learned he was a dating 13 year old girls and a lot of his art output seemed pretty repugnant in that context.

He's a completely shit human being for sure. I'd understand not wanting to have anything to do with his output after learning that. It depends on how much you can separate the art from the artist.

The director of Jeepers Creepers is also a notorious pedophile.
