  1. I personally liked Luigi's Mansion 2 and 3 about equally, though I didn't mind the mission based structure and 3 lost some points for me because I hated the final boss fight compared to 2 and even 1's. I should play through 1 again though. As for my own completions, I haven't played Devil Survivor lately and I'm struggling to motivate myself to start something else as well. I did recently pound through another harder game and finally finished it, so maybe I'll get back into Devil Survivor or start Inazuma Eleven 2. It's not looking likely I'll finish my list unless I get the spontaneous motivation to smash through Devil Survivor, SMTIV and Octopath Traveller (or finally get the motivation to sell the latter).
  2. Bit of a silly question, but I figure someone here has some experience. I've been using Bestine to remove stickers for a while now but the one issue I've been having is after I get the sticker off, a decent chunk of the time there's still adhesive residue remaining. When I try to clean up the residue, sometimes I end up just smearing it on the thing I'm trying to clean. Any advice on avoiding this issue? Guessing just dabbing the soaked residue off might be a better play, but anything else?
  3. I keep thinking I have less than 20 games on my list, but then I go back and count and it's 20. I started Devil Survivor Overclocked recently and I've slated Inazuma Eleven 2 as my next game to start. Now if only I could be less distracted by other games.
  4. Something finally possessed me to go back and finally grind some more for the final boss of the new neutral route of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux. After some tweaks and a couple more failed attempts, I finally managed to defeat the boss after an agonizing 90 minute fight. I probably could have grinded more, especially since one of my damage dealers kept missing hits and I gave myself a thin margin of error by only having 3 demons that were consistently usable, but oh well. Clearing SJR marks the first of many 3DS SMT games down for me. I've also been reminded I should probably go back and clear the 5th stratum bosses in EOIV/EO1U/EO2U/EOV, because I'd like to see the credits roll in those too. I've also hit the 33rd chapter of Project X Zone. So far, I think the game is alright and I don't think I'm probably gonna budge from that once I finish it. My biggest issue is chapters drag on for too long, which makes the fact the game is pretty repetitive even worse. All unit chapters have been consistently hitting 2 hours now and even basic enemies' HP are starting to inch out of the one round/one shottable by AOE range. Additionally, nearly every chapter has a similar story structure (characters get teleported to a new world, they ponder, enemies attack) and chapter goal (kill all enemies), so it all kinda blends into a mishmash of comboing enemies to death. I think if the story was more condensed or there were more split party chapters, I'd be less annoyed. I do think I will enjoy Project X Zone 2 more simply because it has characters I like/am familiar with, vs Project X Zone 1 I'm only familiar with characters by general game knowledge or seeing them in other crossover games.
  5. Finally went and played through all the story missions of Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy+. It's one of the handful of 3DS games I picked up in the last few years that are outside of my normal genre tastes, but I figured I might as well grab it and give it a shot. I ended up liking the gameplay, even though I did suck at it a bit. I got mostly C ranks, but I think story mode mostly uses time based ranks, which is a struggle with the slower starting planes. The music is also pretty great, so good experience overall. As for my next game, I'm leaning toward Project X Zone now as a mixup, since my last two JRPGs were turnbased/ATB. I may also "cheat" and play some games that aren't on my list.
  6. I guess I'll throw in my list as well * Portal collection as well (very unlikely) * Project Diva Mega 39s (I think this ship has long sailed) * Bear and Breakfast? (a physical is releasing in Europe soon) On something that'll actually happen, I think their mystery 3DS game will finally be revealed, especially since VGP has also hinted their newest 3DS restocks will be arriving.
  7. I got really hooked into Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore and ended up beating today. It's a silly game, but I was in the mood for such silliness and liked it. It reminded me of Stella Glow, another heavily music focused JRPG that I like. Various nitpicks I feel like complaining about: - One of those games you can't 100% trophy wise in your first playthrough, which I always find annoying. - For some reason the game doesn't tell you how many turns are left on certain buffs like Marking. I find this really weird since Atlus games are usually good about telling you your buff/debuff state, so I feel like I must be missing a marker or something somewhere. - Minor complaint that also vaguely applies to Ryza, but I don't like it when JRPGs make maxing out weapons a super grindy affair instead of just having a couple levels that might need a bit of extra grinding after the story. That's probably a personal taste thing though. - The Opera of Light is hyped as each character has a part, but then the actual song only has 5 verses and three characters don't have their own verse. I'd accept it being shorter to not drag out the cutscene, but nearly every vocal song but one have short versions in the game and a full version on the soundtrack release. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. But despite my complaints, I enjoyed it overall and I'm definitely gonna pick up the soundtrack when I get the chance. After I finish doing sidequests and whatnot, I'll move on to my next games and maybe consider doing NG+ in the future. I keep saying I'm gonna start Ace Combat: Horizon Legacy+ and it may or may not finally happen. After that, I'm not sure because Ryza 2 and TMS were the games I had the most hype to start and now that I'm done with those, all the games on my list are some form of: * I heard good things about but can't bring myself to start for whatever reason (the SMTs) * I have no strong opinions about (the vast majority of my list) * I have heard mixed to bad things about, which admittedly does influence me more than I'd like to admit Shortlist right now after Horizon Legacy is Style Savvy: Fashion Forward, Project X Zone, Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionare's Conspiracy and The Legend of Legacy. I may just start letting the RNG pick for me since I'm so indecisive.
  8. Very relatable. Did you buy the Kokopolo games from LRG or secondhand?
  9. Finally beat Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends and the Secret Fairy the other night. As I said before, I like hanging out with Ryza and her friends and it's still true. I also always liked the summertime vibes of the Ryza games since it enhances the hanging out with friends atmosphere. Plotwise, nothing too deep but I didn't come in expecting much anyway. My biggest gripe is outside of NG+ harder difficulties and the challenge battles, there isn't really a place to go all out with your maxed out items, but I suppose that's what I get for playing on normal difficulty. I think I'm about done with the game after I defeat the postgame boss and craft the last few items I want. Ryza 3 is definitely in my to get list for the future. As for my next games, Switch wise I'm still feeling Tokyo Mirage Sessions, so I'll probably start that. 3DS wise, Ace Combat: Horizon Legacy+ is still probably my next choice, then maybe Style Savvy: Fashion Forward.
  10. Oops, it's been a while. Finally updated my post with the two games I beat months ago (I swear I haven't been at 0/20 all year). I've been struggling with motivation, including my backlog, but I'm hoping I'll get back on track to it eventually since I've just been either picking up and playing shorter games I got since my last post (Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed and Weapon Shop de Omasse), trying to actually get into A-Train 3D or just playing my favorite evergreen games. I *did* start Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends and the Secret Fairy in the last few months, which I was enjoying, especially coming off harder games like Etrian Dungeon and Strange Journey Redux. At first I kinda wanted to raise the difficulty, but at the same time I didn't want to deal with really having to strategize/minmaxing, but I've hit the point where combat is mostly satisfying now. Plot/characterwise, it's comfy hanging out with Ryza and her friends again. I think I might try to start Ace Combat: Horizon Legacy+, especially since I should be able to complete it in an afternoon or so.
  11. Fantasy Life's DLC is great, highly recommend. Captain Toad's DLC was unfortunately Switch only, which has irritated me ever since they announced it. I know for Miracle Mask and Azran Legacy, those just have the daily puzzles you can download within the game and Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney has bonus stuff that's downloadable in game after you beat the story. I do agree these will likely stay up until 3DS online play goes down. I did find out Layton's Mystery Journey does have actual eShop DLC, but you can buy it right away if desired.
  12. I do want to note the Professor Layton games and I think DQVII (uncertain)'s DLC isn't eShop DLC, but DLC distributed by likely not Eshop servers, so it's not impossible they'll be still obtainable after the eShop closes. Though that also assumes devs aren't gonna randomly take down distribution servers at the time the eShop closes.
  13. Forgot I need to update my original post as well, so I'll get to that eventually. Still haven't gotten around to grinding in Strange Journey Redux, but on some other fronts: Rhythm Heaven Megamix: I beat the main story. It was my first Rhythm Heaven and I liked it, outside of some games being suffering or me just being bad. It'll probably be one of those games I go back to play random games and attempt to eventually unlock all of them. Etrian Mystery Dungeon: Beat the 7th dungeon and reached the credits. I've heard before it's a poor adaption of Etrian Odyssey to Mystery Dungeon and I'll probably have to agree. Unlike Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (which is the only other Mystery Dungeon series I've played), the loop is delving a given mystery dungeon multiple times as opposed to one and done for Pokemon (outside of quests). Run until I find a good floor to build a fort in, leave to heal up/stock up, then start at the fort and keep going. The party AI does suck a lot. It tends to spam attack skills a bit randomly and if someone gets hit with an irrelevant debuff, you'll have to spam cancel the AI members requesting to use an item to heal it. I did see recommendations to just use a solo character and that probably would have been better but I ended up suffering through the full party. The boss fights are also a low point. I'd usually just teleport sigil my Medic, Runemaster and Gunner away then just whale on it. Unlike regular EO games, you're also forced to do the last 5 floors of a dungeon before the boss so I'd usually run out of TP like halfway through the fight and end up just slowly chipping away at the boss until it dies. I did complain about it a bit but overall, not a bad game but definitely one of those games that don't mesh well with its series. Started Atelier Ryza 2, might start Style Savvy: Fashion Forward, Layton's Mystery Journey or a game I didn't list here (illegal) alongside it.
  14. It's from the seller and I believe all watchers get the offer. On the selling side, I have the option to send an offer to my listings that have watchers.
  15. I dunno why but I thought it was by a European limited company, so I had put it out of my mind. I just checked though and it was by an American limited company and it might still be in stock? Kinda tempted but there's also apparently a decent chance it gets a regular retail release.
  16. I did double check and found NISA's old listings for the standard and the CE as well, so it seems like that should be the case for that wording. PriceCharting might also work for checking big boxes to game only, but I know they don't have everything covered.
  17. Some games from the local pair of Canadian @Gloves No game in the EOIV but it's an upgrade to the box I had, then some more games for the eternal backlog. And then a bunch of odds and ends I bought with a proxy from the UK. Yes, that includes the Soul Hackers, which in hindsight was probably a bad idea since prices have been cooling on US Ebay, so I didn't really save that much. Oh well. The Mario movie steelbook is something I've been wanting for a long time since I stupidly passed up on it at $30. This copy isn't the greatest condition so if I get the opportunity to get a better one at the same price, I'd jump on it. I also realized I was an idiot and picked a bad condition 3D World steelbook, so I'll have to buy a better one to replace that. Much cheaper/easier than the movie at least. Apparently Europe My Nintendo rewards have a postcard set based on the Mario hanafuda deck, so I grabbed a set of those since I was contemplating getting the Luigi's Mansion 2 card for a while but didn't like how small it is. They have a nice texture to them. Any advice on getting crusty bits off boxart? Do I just pick at it and hope for the best?
  18. Dang, makes me glad I picked up my copy for around $16 at a secondhand bookstore (then proceeded to forget I owned it when I went to actually play the game). Outside of that, I think I only have a beat up Luigi's Mansion Nintendo Power guide I got super cheap at a library sale ages ago and a Super Mario Odyssey guide I picked up cheap at a random Walmart. I'm not particularly a big guidebook collector, but if my bookstore got the Super Paper Mario and Prima Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon guides in, I'd go for those. Contrary to some of the replies above, I do find myself using GameFAQs a lot and find it pretty useful. I do play a lot of JRPGs though, which tend to have random obscure stuff going on. If artbooks are also on topic, I have the Super Mario Odyssey one and the Japanese Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Alrest records, which are both pretty cool.
