Me too! Yeah I remember that fiasco. There was some weird printing error relating to the NA and Australian version with them too considering how they are number making them pretty limited. I was able to get the Australian version on with the help of a middleman service, but not the ESRB ones.

Yeah they printed the cases themselves and most were upside down. Then at pax in USA they singed the copies with pen instead of marker. I was Australian release is 500  esrb probably better term then team USA release was 150 and they still have some copies they auction off. I got a ton of goodies from when I won their auction.

Death Squared physical edition? Interesting considering there was that one without a physical cart.

Smg wanted their game death squared on shelves. They hated how their game became scalped and flipped. I have their limited USA release and I’ll be double dipping into this

  3. My best na find would have to be my favorite item not based on price but just because where else do you find a prototype SMW

best eBay find is my talespin prototype for 1100. Come to find out from another member here @TVGP it was used during the 1990 disney championship.

my in the wild find is hardly even in the wild since I’m very busy and hardly get to look but I’m gonna pick my free pick up of a dmg display cabinet I got from another forum about arcades

Romi: Do you have any solid evidence of that or just something of the bs rumor mill?  That's sickening if that's the case and that others colluded in on it.

@Tanooki I don’t have the evidence personally no but, the person that told me about it wouldn’t lie to me. I’ll bring it back up again with him and see if I can find it.

I will say this I know for a fact that snes cd rom would not be the only one made. There would also be some sorta build line before that came about also. So I’m assuming there’s an earlier version.

I have to hand it to him though. He has milked that console for one hell of a ride across the world showing it off and letting people see it.

That was only to get shown so he could get paid don’t be blind to him acting like he was doing that for the community. I’ve heard thru the grapevine there are more of these and that terry Debold asked them not show it until he’s done with the limelight...

She is the codirector of the Videogame History Foundation.  She was answering people asking if the foundation could buy the prototype.  The short of it was, they don't have that kind of money and even if they did, $3M could buy a hell of a lot of historical items over just one prototype.

Okay why is she the codirector then.thansk for the first answer by the way! Also Terry is crazy to think it’ll go for 3 million. He’s acting like he did some great service to the gaming community then put it in a museum lol. Where’s my bullwhip I’ll save the day!

Write a good article with have a good sales pitch and maybe just maybe the right people see it.  Really though your Talespin championship cartridge is a cool piece of Nes history that just needs proper documentation.   As for the art, yeah when I saw Bronty make mention of the $500, I thought of you Haha.

Dude said quite a bit more I only forgot a couple zeros! Blame it on my fat thumbs. Honestly I want more prototypes not less let the masses fight over retail I’ll be over here asking for early disney nes games

Make a prototype hype article and see if you are a good writer😆.  As for video game art, I do think there is a misperception by a lot of people that it’s all outrageously priced.  I find that disappointing because I think many are interested but already feel they can’t afford anything.  There is nice video game art that most could afford if they really wanted something.  I mean people have to use some common sense on what to ask about though.   Besides video game covers there are awesome painted ads and I think those are still unknown to most.

A good writer lol. Let’s be honest I’m better at finding games then writing about games. Also of course there is art that people can afford just don’t use my brain because I’m offering 500 on wild guns next month:p

How is that any different from Sega putting out the giant Sonic Mania bundle though and why would one count over the other? Its still just an empty case with a dlc code. Its cool to have but i would think it would be added to the little subset of Switch games that came with a dlc code instead of a cart and not a full Switch set.

I mean that’s the switch sonic mania I’d want. I don’t see it as a big deal plus death squared didn’t have the required 1000 copies printed. Only 500 Australian and 150 esrb. It just does so much more for me that the game was released by developers sucks they couldn’t do a cart but they are small time. I got one of their auctions so I’m also happy to say they donated all my money to planting trees much better then a cart in my mind:p

This is how i always viewed it. I'm not a full set collector but wouldn't count a game without an actual cart. I personally add them to my overall count when keeping track of my own Switch games but thats just me.

Honestly the main game I’m defending is death squared since it was put out by the developers.

Like assholes everybody has an opinion. Mine is, for it to count it has to actually have the game in physical form in the case to count for a set. Selling me artwork, case, stuffed animal and a piece of paper doesn't make it a game. Its like saying you have to collect those prepaid game cards they sell at stores for them to count for the complete set.........

Maybe that’s why I don’t care since I have no desire to have tons of filler games just to say I got the complete set. I plan to get the hollow knight/ undertale plushies.

Ok, just curious for those who collect physical full sets specifically because the Sonic mania thing. (Not asking as this has been a trend on other console topics here, but just genuinely interested)

If a release is a code for a download of the game with a toy or collectable,is it part of the full set?

Sonic mania collectors edition (the statue and stuff with code but no physical game) > Sonic mania plus (oversized shiny cardboard sleeve, artbook, and physical game)  > Sonic mania (nothing! You just get the cart!)

Are the last two the only ones that matter?

that really cute sans plush has me tempted to crack and double dip on undertale

I think to much is put into the not physical because it has a code debate. I collect good switch games with zero intentions on opening most because I can’t get them cheaper digitally.
