Is it just me or is building a complete collection about the journey not the destination? I'm not by any means a set collector, but if I was I'd want to get to learn the set, learn its contents, and build an understanding and connection to it. Just seems like bidding $3k for one on ebay kills that and also kills the thrill of the hunt.

Different world for sealed honestly a lot of new people are joining due to games being considered a legit collectible. All these new players are trying to gobble up everything they like and having prices go nuts but stuff isn’t readily on eBay anymore. Certain games have dried up super fast so it’s more fomo and good deal hunting then speed collecting

Looking back at the past 6 months where a nice sealed Bionic Commando has been outsold by Pac Man, Space Invaders, God of War, Donkey Kong Country 2, Robocop 3, and LJN X-Men I am officially marking this prediction wrong.

    Did anyone say GameCube?

The variant.   I don’t see any greatest hits anything being anything anyone cares about long term.   Okay so say it’s 2500 now.   Is that more likely to go up to 5000, 10,000 over time?    Or to drop to 1000?    If it wasn't greatest hits/ players choice I’d have an open mind but I see this as only appealing to a tiny number of people.    I could be wrong but I have a hard time imagining anything less exciting

You never know I’m sure most of us didn’t see the Mario and sonic craze coming. Most don’t notice that GameCube games are jumping in price outta nowhere.

Not sure, but he was on Nintendo Age and other game forums. I think if you do some digging, you can find out. All I'll say is the guy's collection is Legendary. I don't think anyone is close or will ever come close to what he has. If you can think of it - he has it. Everyone from the old NintendoAge graded forums will know exactly who I'm talking about.

Yeah I’ve dealt with him before got a bunch of shantae games from him

I know of a certain someone who owns a VGA 95 copy. But the chance of him selling it is 1 in a billion. I'll leave you to guess who. His name rhymes with 'duck'.

That’s crazy and I’m not surprised he has it. Is he on here?

I remember rushing out to Best Buy to get a release copy of Okami (Wii) with the ign watermark on the front cover art. As far as I know it never became particularly valuable, but I really felt like I was getting something special at the time. 🤣😂

Videogame collecting is so weird some times.

I agree I’ve had many different feelings during my collecting hate missing out on stuff or being out priced lol

Yep. Just got one as you just never know. I mean after seeing a soccer game for the Wii end up being hundreds of dollars, this title seems like one of those that would end up like that. xD Hopefully it is hype just like with the Rollercoaster Tycoon one too. I remember people thinking it was going to be so limited in print and it sold up to $100. Then more came later on.

The switch has constantly been having that issue with hype. Seems to be affecting doom right now.

The GameSale sub on Reddit is now 90% people asking for a Switch. A week ago it was probably 60% people asking for Ring Fit Adventure. It's sad. What gets me though (and I'm not siding with the scalpers here) is the posts that are basically choosy begging - "I'm willing to spend up to $X" or "not willing to pay eBay prices" or "please be reasonable." Like, anyone you buy from at this point is a scalper. No one is going to do you a favor. Badmouthing scalpers isn't going to help you, and no one is obligated to sell you one at any price.

I will admit I was dragging my feet a month ago on pre-ordering the AC Switch and by the time I decided I should get it the pre-orders were all sold out. I ended up buying one from someone on Reddit last week and somehow I managed to convince them to sell me it for $380 (I told them I had someone else willing to sell me one for $380 but I'd take theirs at that price if they could invoice me quicker... which wasn't a lie! But afterward I realized that first person sold theirs to someone else who offered more, ha!)

Dude not saying I shoulda but I was tracking animal crossing switch’s and if I would known they were gonna jump more I woulda done the unthinkable sell it for profit!!!
