  1. I don't usually double-dip in games, but might in this case. One of the best RPGs of all time...
  2. Available for trade, or $50 shipped in the USA. SOLD
  3. You and I both. I personally have never seen the appeal to MMOs, but to each their own. Oh, and even if you really like them, how the hell do you end up spending a million dollars???!!!!
  4. The music album will not be a CD, right? I mean, it would be amazing if it was... and I would be happy to pay to have a physical CD, just saying
  5. https://kotaku.com/man-spends-1-4-million-on-game-character-which-his-fr-1840027912 Quite amazing that we live in an age when people can spend millions of dollars on a video game, and yet the median income worldwide is $10,000.
  6. Not sure what is up with Tetris Effect. When I first saw it I did not know it was already available. So, not sure what the deal is with that. Most of their releases are a one-time physical release and not available otherwise. As for Night Trap, it was only available through LRG.
  7. From the Article: "This is pretty terrifying, especially since homeless attacks can happen pretty much everywhere. I guess here’s your daily reminder to always look twice around the street, and run whenever you see someone coming at you with a bucket." I guess that last bit about running is supposed to be witty humor? It's really quite sad that anyone should be forced to "look twice around the street". Anyway, attacks can of course happen anywhere, but in some places you are absolutely more likely to be attacked. Last time I was in Cali a few months ago, I was constantly told by people to "watch out" for homeless. Unemployment, poverty, and lack of affordable housing are huge problems in the good ol' USA. Mental illness is also a serious issue that is not treated seriously. https://nlchp.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Homeless_Stats_Fact_Sheet.pdf There was a time I rather wanted to move to Cali. With the crime, traffic, idiot politicians, and yes, the fact that they have no idea how to care for the burgeoning homeless population, it's not high on my to-move list.
  8. Just saw this meme, and it's funny because it's true I don't think there's a thread devoted to meme sharing, so here is one now... well, I think we can keep things mostly civil around here!
  9. First off, games such as the N64 Racer or Turok etc are authorized, so by definition they are not bootlegs. Yes, some of their releases such as the aforementioned were previously released, but so what? There's obviously a demand for that since they sell out quickly. Secondly, the vast majority of their games have had no physical releases, and it's questionable whether many small independent games would otherwise ever get a physical release -- so yes, I'm super grateful and this is indeed a service they are providing. I agree that scalping is an issue, but LRG now offers open orders on non-collector's editions so there's no reason anyone shouldn't get a copy of the vast majority of the games they release (some unique games like their NES releases are always going to be limited). So anyway, to each their own, but I honestly find myself more interested in most LRG games than AAA games.
  10. Eternal Darkness + Soundtrack = SOLD Skies of Arcadia = SOLD
  11. I didn't buy them, but they were definitely cool! and honestly, I bet people will scalp them big time on ebay...
  12. Feral Hogs Steal $22,000 Worth of Cocaine From Drug-Trafficking Ring https://www.newsweek.com/italy-drug-bust-wild-boar-hidden-cocaine-destroyed-smuggling-operation-1471472
  13. I thought about that, but you're giving Hollywood execs way too much credit -- they're not that smart! Although if the Sonic movie is a big success, maybe they'll purposely start releasing "bad" trailers on purpose.
  14. I don't know if you could walk into a Best Buy and find any LRG games. I would suspect the answer is no. And again, when it comes to open orders, LRG does not specify a limitation number so I don't see it as artificially inflating anything. You can order the games of the Best Buy website, and again, they are significantly less expensive than on ebay. I'll probably pick up Celeste for the Switch since I did not order it when it was for sale on LRG.
  15. Yeah... I guess it's a total "shit business model" when you know, you try to make gamers happy AND make money??? Seriously, what exactly do you expect? As for selling at Best Buy, they only sell the open-order games not the collector's/limited editions. The prices on Best Buy are the same price is on the LRG website, and certainly lower than prices you will find on ebay. Don't see anything wrong with what they are doing.
  16. Some of my recent research has been on the origins of life, and you know, it's all quite amazing and fascinating! But, as others have pointed out, once you're dead that will be it. Once your heart stops there is some brain activity, but no oxygen so you won't "feel" anything. Also, and I'm speaking from a science perspective, NO reincarnation or anything like that. Your molecules will get recycled, but your consciousness will be gone. It will feel, like before you were born, which is to say nothing. Is that good or bad? Well, don't know. Death is frightening, because there's nothing afterwards for us to experience. But, no pain either. Make a good contribution to the world in some way, enjoy life, play games, rescue cats - my attitude
  17. Classy! I do hope iam8bit publishes more rare or unreleased NES games. Would be pretty great if they included a soundtrack CD too
  18. That looks sweet. Considering the price of the original Metal Storm, I think with all the goodies the new release is going to be pretty fab. Now, it wasn't actually a LRG release, although I believe they sold an exclusive version of the LE. By the way, will you open your CE?
  19. I really don't see anything shady here. Shady would be when they're trying to hide something, and as far as I know LRG has always been 100% forthcoming about what they are selling. As for "bad customer service" - well I've had a few things arrive damaged and LRG has always replaced them. Granted, sometimes it takes time and sometimes they are not great about communicating how long it will take, but they do follow through. I guess we live in an age where we think everything should be exactly like a multi-billion dollar enterprise such as amazon, which of course can instantly replace/refund you on a whim. I don't know how much LRG has in terms of assets, but I would be surprised if they are worth more than a few million dollars, and according to Wikipedia their number of employees grew from 2 in 2016 to 10 in 2017, so what is it now? 30 or so? Patience is not a virtue for today's age I think As for letting people purchase supply, this is a touchy issue. Again, they are a small business, they can't afford to keep things on shelves. Are they "happy" when people purchase their games and the value goes up? I would hope so! I sure would be. Certainly better than when the game becomes worthless. Also, people "artificially" inflate the prices on everything. Nintendo is notorious for this! At least LRG tells you a game is coming out, and how many copies will be available. When Nintendo announces something like Zelda Dreamer Edition by the time you hear of it it's sold out everywhere. So, I would argue it's simply people that drive up the price of games - or anything remotely collectible. All in all, I have to respectfully disagree with just about everything you said. I can't say whether they feel they are doing something "righteous", but I certainly appreciate what LRG does and I will keep supporting them. Also, yes, honestly I do feel grateful for them and other small publishers that release physical copies of games that would otherwise only be available digitally. As LRG says "Physical Forever" and I agree!
  20. I totally understand overtime compensation, but this is batshit crazy and I'm willing to bet the house rotten like gangrene on a hot summer's day... https://money.yahoo.com/wildfires-wild-pay-los-angeles-135815241.html
