  1. Pretty sure I chose bulbasaur as my first ever. I distinctly remember training it to a level 65 venusaur in the starting Viridian City area because I was stuck and couldn’t figure out how to progress in the game.

  2. I’ll say for things that I wasn’t going to collect anyways because they’re so expensive, I’ll get the digital version if it becomes available. Two examples are Shantae and trip world. I don’t collect for gameboy or GBC but I was interested in these games. Shantae is 5 bucks on the eshop and trip world is 5 bucks too but only on japans eshop but I have a Japanese 3ds so I got it.

But if it’s for a console I do collect for then I want the physical version if possible but will also get the digital if I don’t think I’ll ever get the physical version. I don’t think this scenario has popped up for me yet though. If there was a digital way to get little Samson that’s one I would pay for to get the digital copy.

Yes, exactly!  That's my complaint about the grade.  How is this an A+?

I don't know if you read the whole thing (which if fine, i know I'm long winded) but I sent them back for them to "verify" the grade and support explicitly told me that stand by 9.6/A+?!

The game might be a 9/6.  That's fine.  The scuffs you see appear to be on the shrink wrap and not the case.  Maybe a 9.8 is justifiable but I've not scrutinized the case.  The seal is far from perfect though. Definitely shouldn't be a second-highest rating by any grading company.

Yea I read the TL/DR part and skimmed through the rest. Definitely not close to a perfect seal if there’s a rip in it even if it isn’t the biggest rip in the world.

Actually when I saw that my IT brain instantly thought it was an IT joke in regards to HTTP error 404 haha. But now I see it wasn’t, but I now get all the Easter eggs and it’s actually surprising how well Pikmin fit into WW.

I’m going to take a small break then give Pikmin 2 a go. I can’t wait to see what new Pikmin and puzzles/mechanics they came up with.

Lol yea they probably named the planet after the HTTP error.

Pikmin 2 is different from the first one with what your objective is but I thought they did a good job incorporating all the new stuff. The new pikmin they introduce are cool too and definitely add to what can be done with all the puzzles. I go back and replay pikmin 2 every couple of years. Might have to pop that sucker in soon myself.

    Pikmin 1 is done.

This is a game I’ve always wanted to play but never got around to it. After @Makar’s WW game I felt inspired to play it.

Having now played this I can say I loved Makar’s WW game even more. He absolutely nailed the feeling of Pikmin and the day/night journals were just like the game.

This game was amazing from start to finish. The music, level design, the puzzles, how the Pikmin interact in the world and the story all go together so well.

This gets a 10/10 for me. Can’t fault the game in any way. Can’t wait to play Pikmin 2!

I collected all 30 ship parts and got the happy ending.

Woooooo!!! Glad you really enjoyed it! You probably understand all the little Easter eggs that I included in the game now. Even the planet name was a nod to the pikmin planet in the game PNF-404.

pikmin 2 is my favorite of the 3, but really they’re all solid. Can’t speak to Hey Pikmin on the 3DS since I haven’t played that one yet and it’s a different style than the other 3 but it still looks like it should be fun. And now we have Pikmin 4 to look forward to next year too!

if you like pikmin, there’s a Wii game called Little King’s Story which is supposed to be similar in game play style. I’ve only played a little of it but I remember it being fun.

@PuppyWafflesi know you said you were going to get pikmin and play it too. Did you play it yet?

I would probably lean to the Banner of the Maid. The units are individuals (which makes them easier to track) - the Battle Worlds is more complex and is  a longer campaign. And there are some sorta quests to do in Banner (mostly looking for objects on some of the battlefields).  So depends on what you prefer.  The units in Banner progress and there is a very limited upgrade system in Battle Worlds.  (If you go with Banner I can give you one hint if you plan to play the plus version later and get the dlc content (part of which is free and part of which is like $5.) Not a spoiler per se but something you will need and you have no way of knowing it until it is way too late.

Fell Seal is worth a look also - has an amazing amount of customization via job skills - somewhat wasted since you can only have a few characters active at one time.

Fangamer is releasing Into the Breach as a physical - that one looks really good so I pre-ordered it.

I didn't really like the Tiny Metal stuff all that well - not a big fan of fog of war especially on really small fields. (Battle Worlds is fog of war also but the battlefields are huge - which makes a big difference.)

Thanks for the additional recommendations! I did indeed already preorder into the breach. That one definitely looks solid. Banner looks more interesting to me. I was hoping there was a physical version but that doesn’t look to be the case so this will be one I add to my wishlist on the eshop and just wait for a sale or hope they make a physical version one day.

These are kinda neat - for awhile they sold little cloth banners for each of the countries at the Chucklefish store.  I don't see any images right now but they looked like this drawing:

Oooo that is cool! That’d be something I could hang up in my office although idk which kingdom I’d get and no one at work would have any idea what game the banner is from.

You might want to look at Battle Worlds Kronos - not a fantasy/rpg game but a pretty straight forward tactics game - you have to pay attention since the maps are big and the battles long - so if you screw up you likely have to start over.

Banner of the Maid is also interesting - very much an elaboration of the early Shining Force style in games.

And yeah - Wargroove was a blast.

Which one do you recommend more? Banner of the maid looked like the better of the two from the screenshots I quickly looked through.

I downloaded the Tiny Metal games a little while ago and while they’re good they’re just not super difficult or very rewarding and emphasized exploration for rankings instead of how well you battled or how quickly you beat a mission which I always found odd.

  8. Necro bump. I finally beat the game and it is amazing. Nice solid challenge, fun characters and good battle mechanics.

I also bought the double trouble DLC and at first it seemed super disappointing with nothing significant added. Then I went into the Co-op section. There are at least 8 new missions in there. I’ve beaten the first 4 and enjoyed all of them so I recommend the DLC just for the Co-op. Best part is even though it’s Co-op, you can play the missions by yourself.

I figured somebody would have gone for the Burrow/Chase combo. I imagine that will equal a lot of points this year.

I don’t have as much confidence in burrow as I do with Mahomes, Herbert, murray, or Brady. I’d forego the burrow chase combo to get a better qb.

You only need one qb. He is gonna prove all the haters wrong.

I always get 2 after experiencing several qb injuries over the years. Plus it’s nice to have one for the bye week. Hill will help tua but I doubt tua will finish as a top 10qb in fantasy

Yeah, that's how it always go.  Every single time I have a draft with first-timers and casuals I repeatedly stress that you should not drift exceedingly far from the numbers.  If you're taking #60 in the first two rounds, something has gone horribly wrong.

And then without fail that's what they do 🤣

Yea that’s usually how I draft too unless there’s a special circumstance. This year Rhamondre is a guy I want so I made sure to get him a little earlier so that no one else grabbed him. No one in this league is a first timer. They just draft strangely. One guy doesn’t draft a kicker

Seems like a pretty clueless league.  Family members? 😅

It’s a mix of family and friends. There were a lot of odd picks. Allen went 15th overall. And then a kicker went in like round 6 or 7. Some other odd picks late in the draft for 3rd string rbs but that I think was just people being hopeful to find a diamond in the rough

  11. 4 hours ago, Bearcat-Doug said:

That's a pretty loaded team. Did Burrow get drafted before Mahomes?

Thanks! Nope. People were sleeping on qbs for a while. Mahomes was the 2nd qb to go after Allen. I could’ve chosen Herbert but I wanted the Mahomes kelce combo. People just went nuts and picked all rbs early. It was something crazy like 20/23 of the first picks were RBs so I was like oh okay if you’re gonna mess with my plan going into the draft then I’ll play your little game and take the two best TEs since I had back to back picks since I had 1st pick overall. They did not like me choosing kelce and andrews lol

That game would wear my hand out every so many stages so I'd put it down, then come back to it a lot lot later, finished it over a course of a year or so.  But in the DS game half the time I wanted to move then turn or change direction the little twerp would roll and it was usual concluding with damage or death and that grew old.

Dementium 1 is fantastic on the DS, other than the wonky save setup, but Moon as beautiful as it was got really boring. 😞  The first person style game that really nailed it was actually third person, Brothers in Arms.  That game looked amazing even had breaking structures, great control, solid gameplay over various modes, good challenge too.

Hmm maybe I found a different way to play it? It’s been a long time since I played it but I don’t remember the movement being a pain. The only DS game I can distinctly remember where controls were bad to the point the game was basically unplayable was ivy the kiwi which is a shame because it’s excellent on the Wii.
