Wow nice, still a dozen Minuet left? That's crazy you got so many spares. They're nasty to try and get on even ebay now as everyone over there and domestic want to write MINUET on the listings and ask like what...10x the price give or take. I mean i get it and not, the music is a cool footnote and it had a few other little quirks/bugs they hashed out at the 11th hours but still. Ugh.
Yeah I have to put them for sale but I never taken the time to do it until now... I need some cash at the moment so selling some of my collection that I don't want anymore is a way to make quick cash
I bought most of them from J4U, it was easy to spot them once you know what to look for, but I checked like every hour of every day for weeks and weeks to be the first to buy them

Well I received my cartridge today, can you imagine the horror when I realized the seller pulled a switcheroo. For a moment I thought maybe I had made a mistake, so I went back and looked at the auction photos and indeed the guy sent me a regular Tetris as opposed to the rarer version. Surely this could be an accident, right? Well not really.
I went back through his listings to see if he had another Tetris for sale (regular version), well I did find another listing for a Tetris, though there wasn't a picture, and another person had left a bad review stating that he too had been searching for the special Tetris, bought the auction, then received the normal one.
I'm in talks with the clown now, who tried acting all ignorant, saying "What do you mean the two cartridges aren't the same?" Seeing as this happened at least once before with this guy, no idea how it could just be an honest mistake rather than something more devious.
I'm really sad to hear that
I still have a dozen Minuet to sell so if you want to buy one from me send me a PM. I hope you will be able to have you money back!

Hi everyone! Here is a possible new variant of Tetris USA...
only ONE dash
It may be a simple misprint or maybe the dash has been erased with time

Nice, I just grabbed one of these! Hopefully it'll arrive and the seller won't swap it for a different one.
I still have some to sell if there is an issue with yours

2 ) VGS' Ultimate Collection - Which member here has shown off VGS' best collection? Bonus points for unique and unusual items, cool display ideas and of course EPIC gameroom photos!!!
There are some obvious heavy-hitting contenders here, as plenty of people have already mentioned, but I've always been amazed at the highly-curated stuff, like @Nintegageo's Neo Geo collection and @Ulrizza's extensive Tetris set.
Hi @CasualCart
I'm surprised, I don't have much in my collection and always feel like I have really nothing compared to all the people here
My Tetris collection makes me very happy but I'm still missing some and I only try to have one of each
@JVOSS already have them all and continues to search for very small variations. If you think "Ultimate collection" JVOSS's is way above mine!Anyway It's nice to know that someone else enjoy my small collection, thank you

That light gun Wow that is something else!
Have you tried it out?
How well does it work?
I've tried the console on multiple TVs but I didn't manage to have a usable picture. The best I got was this, but it's too bad to be playable and it was on a old LCD so the gun wouldn't work.
I need to make some research on how to search for a particular frequency on my CRTs.

I wrote: "I never did get why so many of those kits removed those as it stops a good many great games from working."
You did confused face.
Look up the Pro Action Replay MK3, vs other adapters, most adapters including the honeybee. The MK3 has the wider optional sets of pins to read games that use larger expansion chips (FX1, FX2, SA1, SDD1, C4, etc.) that need those added pins to send the added data for those heavier games that don't just use stock hardware. When you have an adapter that doesn't have those, none of those games will play. That's why I said I didn't understand why so many companies cheapest out on that. It stopped games like SFAlpha2, Star Ocean, Parodius 3, Kirbys Dreamland 3 and Super Star, Mario RPG, Star Fox 1 and Yoshi, DOom, Mega Man X2/x3 and others from playing which largely people consider systems sellers.
Hi @Tanooki, I may have misused the confused face, I've used it because I was confused of why they removed those, not confused at your message.
But thank you for the detailed explanation, it was very interesting

I haven't tried it yet, it looks nice for its age. I think if I had it when I was a kit I would've love it

This should be my last haul of the year, I need to save money to fix my car
There are some very old stuff that I had never seen before
First, a simple SNES adapter:
Next, a Game Genie CIB
I really like having the original documentation and ads!
I also got this monster of a controller:
And now the old stuff, starting with a first gen Pong console:
Then, a first gen portable console:
And finally, the ITMC MPT-05, a second gen console, one of the first that takes cartriges but failed because of the Atari 2600 and Videopac.

Hi
I finally found the last cart that I was missing: the 20 imprint
I've updated the first post so it's now up to date
It took me some time to find those 4, I've only bought carts that was not listed as Minuet and made some pretty long collecting pauses. I collected a total of 23 carts and gave 2 away, leaving me with 21!
As requested by @JVOSS or @RH I don't remember I took pictures of every cart.
There is a total of 5 pictures by cart: Front, Imprint, Mold number, PCB front, PCB back. They are all ordered

Thanks for the tips
I've checked and there is no apparent capacitors leakage.
I think the cartridge slot is ok because if the game was not detected, the Lynx would've displayed "INSERT GAME". And I've already cleaned it with IPA.
I've read that an USB source delivering at least 1A is enough, and mine is a 2.4A.When I'll have the time I'll recap it and see if it improves something or not!

Better get to it before @SNESNESCUBE64posts an arcade repair update.
Yep, he got it before me, I was too slow

So I was really happy to get this broken Lynx 2 with its box since I never saw one in my life but the reparation is harder than I thought.
I've found out that one of the most common issues is that the components used to transform the 9V from the batteries (or the power supply) to the 5V that the console needs are breaking, and there is a good chance for the 9V to enter the 5V circuit, frying the CPU and/or GPU.
There is a simple way to test if this is the issue: inject 5V directly where it's needed (with a USB cable since it's 5V), and that's exactly what I did:
And the Lynx turned on, so there is this first issue that I can repair easily since I've already ordered and got the parts to do that from Console5.
But the other problem is that when the console turn on I only have a white screen (no sound, brightness works):
And as I found on multiple websites including Atarigamer.com this means that the console is fried and we can't do anything ...
But I won't give up so quickly!
I've also read that this white screen can be the cause of components other than the CPU or GPU, so they could be replaced by new ones. Here are my questions:
- As for the Game Gear, SNES and other consoles, the caps in the Lynx are also prone to failure, could this result in a white screen? (I don't want to recap it for nothing, but this is currently what I'll do next without a better lead)
- What could be the components that may be faulty other than the CPU and GPU?Thanks in advance for your help, I'll let you know when I have the time to work on it
-
I'm currently stuck on a reparation, when this subforum will be created I'll be the first one to post in it

Hi o/
I haven't come here recently but it is really interesting what you guys pick up, I should come more often
In vacations in Belgium I found a lot of games I didn't have for my full set, and it made me happy so I'll share:
(Thanks drxandy )- Lemmings 2 was 12€, but I already had it...
- Kirby's Block Ball 10€ - I was very happy to find a Kirby I didn't know existed, and I've seen it sells for 40€ on eBay so it was a good deal
- Donkey Kong Land 3 and Popeye 2 were 8€
- And all the others were 5€I was particularly happy with Last Action Hero, because I had my eyes on one for some time in a local shop but at 30€ with a teared label it was too expensive for me. But for 5€ I didn't hesitate!
And I was intrigued by Lucle since I never heard of it, and I see that it sells for 80€ on eBay so 5€ was a great find
I need to investigate why it's so expensive!- 12

Clearing some space, offering the following items for the price of shipping. Take however much you want, I'd just ask that folks only take items they have a genuine interest in. List:
Plantronics GameCom 1 Headset - NEW TEMPORARILY CLAIMED
Konami DDR Mat for Dreamcast w/ box (maybe manual?) - I tested this years ago and couldn't get it to work. Maybe it's broken, maybe I was impatient? You be the judge.
Mad Catz ORIGINAL Xbox Blaster x2 - I cannot test these and BOTH have cables covered in melted rubber band. I started cleaning one, have not touched the other. I suspect these will work but I don't want to deal with removing the rubber bands (this will require some TLC). CLAIMED
Retrogen in box + some other clone handheld - no idea if these work TEMPORARILY CLAIMED
NES Hard Cart Case x4 - x3 OEM (one blue), x1 generic - all fairly worn CLAIMED
Naki Turbo Twin Battery Pak for Game Gear PAL RELEASE - SEALED - PAL RELEASE, prob not gonna work anyway given its age though
PSP Console Box + Docs - Description: https://www.ebay.com/itm/125206346173
Again, just cover actual shipping for any items you'd like. Thanks!
I would love to have the DDR mat
Do you have any idea of the shipping costs to France?

Hi @JVOSS, thanks
What a beautiful picture!I didn't find any new Tetris, and I paused a little bit my collecting because I had expensive maintenance costs on my car recently, so I'll continue searching in some time.
I took some time to display my Tetris, I'll post a picture when I have time to finish the display
