  1. Ugh. I totally missed this. I think I was expecting an email update or something; usually I have it on my calendar, but I've been distracted this month (for some reason). I was really looking forward to it too. Thought I could make up some points. *sigh*
  2. Oh shoot! I somehow missed when Troll Burner opened! And I had plenty of time to play it
  3. I hope so! I'm more into platformers. *rubs hands together* Edited: Oh, never mind, I thought Cowlitz was next. I'm in trouble with some of these upcoming games...
  4. Here's something for the Master System list: https://heroes-against-demons.2minds.fr/
  5. Upped my score a teensy bit. May play a little more just under the wire, or maybe I'll call it done I should have spent more time on this one!
  6. Those high scores are so intimidating, that's one reason I haven't put much time into improving mine yet. But I still have a little time!
  7. 93 50 Just tried this out last night. It's pretty fun with catchy music, but I can see it taking some time to master (and I guess practice boosting your score on those conveyor belts).
  8. Wow, there's a lot going on! FYI, I still see Trophy under "In Development." Thanks for all the work keeping this current!
  9. I looked up Mine Shaft today, and it seems like it could be a lot of fun! For anyone who's curious, I posted a recording of a full playthrough of Jammin Honey, including the final boss:
  10. I figured that had to be the only strategy to increase your score. I doubt I'll go to the trouble; I was mostly intent on finishing the game while collecting as many coins and killing as many enemies as I could.
  11. Bump! Finally had enough time to finish the game. It's really fun, and the last stage (boss battle) has terrific music.
  12. Score updated, but I'm still jammin along! Does anyone know how many levels there are?
  13. 70,640 14,610 27,260 I'm just getting started. This game is so much fun!
  14. Instead of trying for another high score, I left the system on and finished the game for the first time! So awesome. Thanks for giving me the impetus to finally play through it.
  15. Thanks! Updated again with a better, legit score! Not sure I'll get another one by midnight, but we'll see.
  16. Hey, I'm so sorry guys, but I have been out of it all week with various ailments, and I just realized I made a mistake. Somehow I missed the "three lives" criterion; I had casually interpreted the update to the rules as not looping lives on the last level or something (since in most games/challenges you can use whatever lives you acquire legitimately along the way). And so, I must downgrade my score, because I definitely used more than three lives previously. I'm trying to find some more time to play today, but we'll see how it goes, because kid. This game just takes a lot of time to learn, and a lot of time I do not have. We have until midnight EST, yeah?
  17. Indeed, thanks for introducing me to some neat GB games! I wish I'd had more time to be a bit more competitive, but I was already pretty far out of my league here. It was just fun to participate, and I appreciate all the effort that goes into coordinating and maintaining one of these competitions.
  18. 78,800 54,050 75,450 Ah, I'm starting to remember how to play this game! I had forgotten how frenetic it is. It's really impressive. I'm hoping to actually beat the game this time around.
  19. 12,563 I've always been embarrassingly bad at Tetris. I don't think it's gonna get much better than this, so here's my participation score!
  20. @Lambda Since I discovered this amazing thread the other day, I've been trying to crack the code too, without much success. The only thing I can add so far is that on page 8, there's an extra "Down" that you don't have listed. So if we aren't missing anything else the code should be: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right I've been toying with the notion that the capitalized Right on page 8 should also be included, as maybe the font color was mistakenly not changed, but you make a good point about why Start probably isn't included. It just seems like a remote possibility if nothing else works. I've also been trying to input the code on controller 2, but I have no idea if the game even looks for inputs from controller 2. None of the likely screens to try it (copyright, title, intro, stage start, life display, pause, continue) seem to be working though. Either we're missing something very basic here, or this code must be entered in an unorthodox manner, or perhaps the code is just broken. I'll keep thinking though.
  21. 50,800 So far this game is fascinating and pretty fun. I'm having a good experience with just two characters, led by the ninja (ninja + samurai was my best run), but I have more experimenting to do.
  22. 35,890 For some reason I thought I wasn't going to like this game, but it's really fun and addictive! Unfortunately I didn't have much time this week, so this is only my second attempt on this one. Seems like there are lots of ways to optimize your score. I dig it.
  23. Interesting setup. I haven't seen that wireless controller before. But I do think the NES Classic controller isn't as good as an original controller, mainly because it sometimes causes accidental diagonal presses due to a shallow D-pad. Dropping button presses on the A button is a new one to me, but I haven't used mine excessively. I usually use an 8Bitdo Bluetooth controller with a Retro Receiver, which sometimes gets interference, but in this case I was trying out my AVS Wireless controller--which also sometimes drops the connection, maybe because something is getting in between it and the receiver. It works flawlessly if I'm sitting within a few feet of it though, which seems weird because all the reviews say it shouldn't have any problem. It also might be getting some radio interference from another device or network but I've never been able to nail it down.
  24. @bertsampson What wireless controller were you using? @Scrobins That happened to me too, but I though they were false inputs from my wireless controller! I don't think I noticed them again after switching to wired or moving closer to the receiver.
