  1. I still haven't played through the game normally but I'm probably going to start next week.
  2. @DeadeyeI beat it once but I only found three ducks on my run.
  3. Oh boy. This looks like an awesome challenge, and the elimination rules add an interesting wrinkle. No special rules for Böbl? I believe you can collect up to 8 ducks.
  4. Nice job, everyone! I tried to play it a little more on my DS this weekend, but I didn't have much time, and it was much harder than playing on a TV so I never managed to improve on my score. What a fun game!
  5. Bumped my score again. It may not get much better than this, but I'm bringing my DS with an NES emulator and my Retropie on our weekend trip, so I'll try to get some more practice in.
  6. Bump! I increased my score a little bit. Tonight may be my last attempt because I'll be away this weekend, unless I can find a satisfying way to continue playing this on the go, so I expect everyone will leave me in the dust by Sunday night.
  7. If anyone is curious, I streamed a full playthrough of the game on Normal Mode the other night, and I found most of the diamonds at some point. I've since located some of the ones I missed. Don't mind my terrible game play—I seem to have a blindspot for chandeliers. But I'm getting better!
  8. 132,600 121,500 113,500 93,550 42,550 It's on like Donkey Kong! (Though this game is more like Mario Bros. than DK.) I just started learning Lost Adventure last night, and I'm having a blast with it. Just want to get myself on the scoreboard, though I sure expect to improve my score by the weekend.
  9. Oh darn. I've been meaning to buy those ROMs.
  10. 127,650 I couldn't muster up much enthusiasm for this one when I tried it at the beginning of the month, but now that I finally put some more time into it today, I'm beginning to warm to it. Figuring out the improved weapons helps! It's been a bit frustrating, but I improve a little more each time. And I do like the look and sound of it.
  11. So if it's using 3v, that's a whole other issue, because LRG specifically stated: "Internal boards for the cartridge are being supplied by Retro-Bit. Each of these premium boards has been rigorously tested and will be the proper 5v standard of official NES boards, so there will be no risk of damaging your hardware!" If they only used 5v boards for the premium edition, I wish that would have been clearer. There was no reason to suspect the premium edition carts would differ internally from the regular carts, as it seemed the only difference would be the packaging and bonus items.
  12. I just heard back from LRG on my ticket, and they're going to "put in an inventory request" to see if I can return the nonworking copy for a working one. I should hear back in 2–5 days...
  13. Just chiming in to say I'm one of the unlucky (hopefully few) who has a defective cart that doesn't work on the AVS. I discovered this when I tried to live stream it, so I have video of what was going on if anyone is curious about what we're experiencing. I too have filed a ticket with LRG, so we'll see what they say! I did discover that this works on my Gamerz Tek 8-Bit Boy HD, so it would be a shame if it works fine on a cheap clone console but not the AVS... .
  14. It looks like we just got Cowlitz Gamers' Lost Adventure! (And a whole bunch of other games): https://action53.itch.io/vol4
  15. 23,400 Really fun game! Simple, challenging, addictive. Wish I'd had more time to try it out before now, but I'll see if I can up my score a little before tomorrow night.
  16. I'll do the same, and pore over the manual one more time in case we've missed something Hopefully we won't discover that we have to enter the code 87 times...
  17. OK, I just started one: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KtI1lqjRRitom6vttg0-w_pgRjRNji-Htb5akpXd_FE/edit?usp=sharing I am not a wizard at Google Docs, so anyone feel free to rearrange it or add to it! I haven't added in people's results from this thread yet, but just included some examples of things we would try. And hopefully we'll come up with some new approaches and eventually crack this thing. Since this is basically a Konami code, maybe replicating something they've done on one of their NES games would work here.
  18. I'm happy to see this thread revived. Though I haven't been fiddling with the code for a while, I'm still very interested in helping to crack it. It might be helpful to coordinate our efforts, with a shared spreadsheet or something, to document the code we used and everything we tried so we can avoid duplicating and wasting time. For example, I've been wondering if Controller 2 might come into play, like it does in some NES games, but it may not even look for any inputs from that controller... There are just so many variations and places to try a code, it seems overwhelming.
  19. Gosh, thanks, everyone! It was a very gaming birthday, as my wife and friends got me a DE-10 Nano to build my first MiSTer, and for Father's Day, my wife got me some NES-themed gifts--including Battle Kid 2! She said, "I don't know why you want to play this, but I hope you enjoy it." :D
  20. 110 Hmmm. OK, I guess now I know one of the reasons I suck at shmups. I'm gonna have to try this with a different controller.
  21. Oh right! Sorry, I forgot to check there. Thanks!
  22. A couple of Famicom games that aren't on the list yet: Haradius Zero: https://impactsoft.booth.pm/ NES release in the works, with Infinite NES Lives, I believe: And Astro Ninja Man: https://www.kadenken.com/view/item/000000001072
