  1. It’s been a while. Let’s take a look at some pick ups! A lot of this stuff is birthday pickups. First up we have the 2 sonic master system games that I mentioned in my last post. A day or 2 after I last posted the 2 games arrived. They are very clean, however Sonic 1’s case arrived slightly crushed where you open it, but I was able to fix it and you can’t tell the difference. My dad got me a copy of pinball. Not a terribly exciting game to some, but definitely one for me. I think this is the best pinball game on the NES. It also came in with a plastic case, which I now use for one of my best NES games and my most expensive NES game, Destiny of an Emperor. He also got me a game genie with the code book. He got it for a good price for 50 CAD. Based off of sold listings on eBay this seems to be a good price. I really like reading the book. I haven’t been able to get the game genie working in my NES due to bad pin connectors on my system (which I have been saying I will get to for years and never actually do it). Next up we have A NES lot that again isn’t too exciting. We have Golf, Bandai Golf, Jack Nicklaus Golf and RBI baseball. No I don’t live an exciting life. Yes I like Golf. Bandai Golf is an ex Blockbuster rental game, so it will be staying in the collection for ever. This was very cheap considering the games. I think it was around 10 CAD. My dad just surprised me with this AGS-101 while typing this. We had discussed about how my old DS lite was broken. He apparently got this for 140 CAD, which is a very good deal. It appears to be complete. Finally we have some non video game stuff. But it’s too cool not to include in here. The magazine is from my sister, and the CDs are from my mom. Moving Pictures came cracked, and I didn’t notice until I opened the package. The CDs make my shelf look complete, and it’s completely full now. The little space between my NES and Master System games has my 2 lose Master System game, Wonder Boy and World Grand Prix. Heres to everyone getting more awesome pickups! EDIT: I completely forgot that I got some Nintendo gift cards too! I used on getting all the games for the Capcom Arcade Stadium, and the rest of the money went straight to getting the sega ages games. I really like switch series and I think they should have continued it.
  2. I was most excited for the new Ghost N Goblins game. I never really liked the arcade games, and always liked the home ports more (even though I suck at them). Mario Golf was interesting. I was disappointed that we never got a Mario Golf game for the Wii U. I’m hoping this is better than Mario Tennis Aces because I really didn’t become too interested in that game and haven’t really touched it since I got it. But based off the trailers is looks good. Splatoon 3 didn’t catch my attention at first. It’s cool to see another entry in the series, but I still have yet to play the second game. Skyword Sword is cool I guess. I do like the Joy Cons. Ninja Gaiden trilogy, the 2 Famicom Detective games and the Capcom Arcade thingy mildly caught my interest. Other than that I really didn’t really care for anything else. Honestly I was expecting a lot worse than what we got.
  3. Wonder Boy for the Sega Master System showed up a day or two after Christmas. Definitely the game I’ve been playing the most on my system. I am feeling a bit of burn out on collecting for the system and I’ve been getting interested into the NES and especially the Famicom/Famicom Disk System again since I haven’t bought a game for it in almost 2 years, but there are definitely some games I still want to get for the master system. Also I am expecting copies of Sonic 1 and 2 for the Master system, but they haven’t arrived yet. I have been told that they are really good condition copies too. Next up we have New Super Mario Bros U and Fire Emblem Three Houses for the Nintendo Switch. My dad said that these were on sale on Boxing Day for about 20-30 dollars each ( I don’t remember the exact amount). I really haven’t been in any rush to grab Mario Deluxe since I have them already on the Wii U. Also relegating blue toad to a button combination is a CRIME. Fire Emblem Three Houses is the first time I’m playing a game from the series. I really like this type of games, especially Shining Force CD which is one of the few RPGs I actually like, so I was pretty excited. I haven’t played too much of it, but it’s ok. The story didn’t really get my attention. Finally we have this audio/video switcher. The quality going to my TV is really good and I don’t have any problems with it. Now I can run all four of my consoles at the same time without having to unplug them.
  4. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. These games will hold me over for quite some time until my birthday comes up in a few months. First up we have have Super Mario 3D All Stars. I think it’s cool to have the ability to play these games portably. The Super Mario Game and Watch was a must have for me. Being the huge Game and Watch fan that I am, I knew I had to have it. Who doesn’t need a millionth way to play Super Mario Bros? For the GameCube we have a very clean copy of Super Smash Bros Meele. Brawl will always be my favourite, but initial play puts Meele at a close second. Despite the GameCube being my system, my sister has somehow has more games than me! I’m only really jealous of her copy of Animal Crossing because she has unlimited play to some of my favourite NES games like Wario’s Woods, Balloon Fight and of course everyone’s favourite Golf (no it’s not a joke I actually like this game). I seem to be one of the few people that likes the early Black Box Games, so my sister having this makes me extremely jealous. Finally we have Sonic Chaos, OutRun, Fantasy Zone, The Ninja, Enduro Racer, a second copy of Hang-On/Safari Hunt and a lose copy of World Grand Prix for the Sega Master System. This makes up most of what I actually want for the system. There’s maybe 10-20 games I actually want left. The Hang-On/Safari Hunt came with World Grand Prix. I was going to send it back, but the text on the back is different then the copy I have. Hooray for variants!! Also I am expecting a copy of Wonder Boy for the Sega Master System. Somehow, I got a copy of Sonic the Hedgehog on the Genesis instead, so I’ll have to wait a bit for Wonder Boy a bit longer. On that note I hope everyone had a great Christmas for those that celebrate it, and here’s to a hopefully better 2021 for everyone!
  5. Haven’t posted in a VERY long time. Only recent additions include the Williams tables on Pinball FX 3 (volumes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and the Universal Monsters pack), and this copy of Sonic Heroes for the GameCube.
  6. Seems interesting I guess. I already have Sunshine and Galaxy so I’m just really getting it for 64, and for being able to play on the go. Not really something I’m go cry for If I don’t get it. Same with the Mario battle royale, not really something that’s grabbing my attention. The Mario 3D world looks cool. 3D world is a really fun game that more people should play. Mario Kart looks really cool, but not something I’m going to get. The Game and Watch is the thing I really want to have. I love them, and it’s awesome to see them releasing products like this.
  7. I finally got my copy of Streets of Rage 4 to add to my ever growing switch collection: I also had some spare time in the afternoon, so I ran over to Salavation army to see if there was anything worth picking up. And there was nothing. Not even a single GameCube sports title. Even the PS2 they had there about a week ago was gone. The only thing worth noting at the store was this NES clone system that I found. It was a little beat up, and it didn’t have a power supply, so I didn’t want to chance the 5 dollars. I already have one at home, that is also missing the power supply. Surprisingly, this store has had good stuff in before, usually at an auction which they had every month or so. I picked up my NES for roughly 20 dollars about 4-5 years ago from an auction at this same store.
  8. I bought mine off of Amazon. Mine was delivered in an Amazon paper package. I was thinking of getting a new cover, but honestly I was more concerned about the book. The damage isn’t terrible, but in some spots it’s a little rough. Unfortunately I think I can no longer return the item, which is fine as I really like the book and when put on a book shelf it looks ok.
  9. Newest game pickups include Paper Mario the Origami King and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, the latter of which really isn’t mine but I still picked it up. Really need to get more into the Olympic/Winter series of games. Also here’s the Sega Master System visual compendium, to go along with my system I got not to long ago. Very good book and covers a lot of good games. The 3-D games are cool since you can look at them in 3-D with the included 3-D glasses. My case for the book didn’t come in amazing shape but the actual book itself is in good shape. Lastly I am awaiting one last Nintendo Switch game, Streets of Rage 4, which will probably be my last game I get for a bit.
  10. Nothing too special for today’s pickups. Just some Master System games that I thought I would enjoy. Also a nice fine layer of dust on the covers. I was speaking to the person at the cash register, and they said that other than me picking up my console with 4 games last weekend, and the 3 I just picked up today, no one has picked up any games recently for the Master System, but I could see why. Anything else worth picking up were missing the manuals, or were not mint. Not to mention how over priced some of them were. Some actually had decent prices. I checked my store points, and I’m uber close to 100, so I can get anything priced for I think 100-120 dollars? I don’t remember what they said. In the glass case where they keep all the expensive games, I spotted very nice copys of Wonder Boy in Monster Land, R-Type and I think Phantasy Star. I’ll probably get one of those games once I reach 100. Also without a doubt Reggie Jackson baseball is probably the best and my favourite game out of this pick up.
  11. Right now I have gone from wanting everything to collecting for systems I actually want and that I have. I really only want to do a full set for the U.S. Master System, but right now I’m getting anything I get. I’m also not specifically going for the U.S versions of the game, getting the PAL version of the game is just as good. Prices on eBay are going up, and I’m actually seeing deals at my local game store which never has deals, but that’s due to the fact that nobody was buying master system games, so more for me. Other then that I’m getting any games I want for systems I have. I don’t plan on going for a full set for any other systems for now.
  12. Pro Wrestling on the Master System isn’t the worst its just-nope I don’t have anything to back it up. A lot of early Master System games had really cheap looking, of what I would call clip art. I think it makes them unique, but some just aren’t right, and this one makes no sense. If I were to judge this game to let’s say, Pro Wrestling on the NES just by box art alone, I’d take the NES game (I’d take the NES game over the Sega one any day in any department ).
  13. I recently picked up a Sega Master System with a controller and a light gun plus 4 games. I got a small discount on each of the games due to the fact the all of them have various condition issues, but they are all fun to play. I really like the box art for the Master System games. Space Harrier is my favourite game out of the bunch, but I have probably played Shinobi the most.
  14. I searched up for a complete U.S. Sega Master System list, as I just got one and I saw that someone had posted a complete list in the collecting area, so I decided to join the website.
  15. Hello new guy here. I have been collecting games and game related things for a few years now. That’s about it. Really looking forward to using this site.
