What other methods do you recommend?

Regardless of any type method, the minimum needs to be to open the game to have full access to the connectors to see what your working with. A quick q-tipping ain't gonna get that "dried soda" gunk out from between pins if you don't open it, and I wouldn't want that kind of stuff in my console.

Personally, I take a eraser to the pins then a tooth brush with alcohol, then dry with a microfiber cloth.

  2. That's some real dedication to assemble that all in Taiwan and all that shipping. The N64 is an awesome console that gets crapped on too much, good to see it get some love. I completed my set in 2012 and that feeling of completeing any kind of set is akin to graduation. The "I'm finally done, and can really enjoy the fruits of my labor."

Which subset is your main focus after this one?

  3. Every single game that can be opened, I open upon arrival. They get thoroughly cleaned in and out before they ever go into a console. (Don't kid yourselves the whole q-tip and alcohol thing is NOT an adequate cleaning method. Thats like jumping in a shower, getting wet, and saying your clean without and soap or getting into the nooks and folds.)

Aint no ones dirty contacts are goin into my slot!

So I guess I check to see if they're real every time just by cleaning them.

    • Double Dragon IV - continuation of the series with NES sprite style graphics
    • The Bug Butcher - like Super Buster Bros. or Super Pang, quite an addictive 1 or 2 player game
    • Bloo Kid 2 - I haven't played it yet but I plan on buying it based on the advertisement. It looks like Battle Kid or Little Samson.

I'm digging Bloo Kid 2, might check that out.

It's a bit more expensive at $30, but it's a unique game, turn based D&D/tsr style title.

Really interesting looking but it breaks rule 2!!! if I don't decide on anything and keep accumulating coins I might get to it, thanks for the suggestion.

  5. I have about $23 in gold coins burning a hole in my pocket that I've finally decided to use up and am looking for some game suggestions to spend it on. To make this like a little game in itself here are the rules:

    1. Must not be currently available physically in North America (ESRB rated) or be announced to be coming physically.

    2. Must not cost more than the gold coins I have available. I don't want to be spending any money on this since I consider digital games "disposable" entertainment.

I'm craving a good tower defense game, though I'm open to any suggestions. Let's see what you guys come up with!

They still get around well, but it's tough to take guys that old seriously. It's no worse than a 10 year old kid winning the tag titles with Braun Strowman at WrestleMania, not that either of those ideas were good.

Eh, the 10yr old bothers me more.  At least the Rock n Roll has experience/history, and I like a feel good moment for some old guard once in a while.

On a side note, my gf who hasn't ever watched wrestling other than  YouTube clips Ive shown her of old stuff, said she caught AEW the other night and thought it was horrible. She specifically mentioned their punches looked fake and all I could think was "jesus, I'm dating jim cornette"

I've heard a rumor floating around on social media that the final LRG Vita release may be offered free to anyone who has purchased every LRG Vita release up to that point.  Has anyone heard anything similar?

That's something LRG promised way back when. But they kept shifting the goal posts on how to determine who owns all of their vita releases.  The last I saw there was still nothing official on which game it will be or how to submit your claim to one

I the NWA is really going for the retro look with retro wrestlers. The WWE's over the top gimmicks are easier to accept than having senior citizens as your tag champs.

Honestly I was kind surprised how well they moved around for their age.  But that may be because I have grandparents that can barely walk around anymore let alone hop around and run their shoulder into a ring post like Robert Gibson was doing.  They won with a quick roll up so it wasn't like they really overpowered the other team

I'm sorry you couldn't decrypt my spelling without apostrophe's and capitals.   I'll make sure to include them this time.

It goes both ways, this isn't a one sided deal.  I don't know this guy at all.  He opened the case before i could figure out what I needed to do for the waiver.   If I gave him the waiver and he didn't close the case I would have no money and he would have nearly 1k plus 18 complete and repaired virtual boys he could sell.  One of those solder fixed VB consoles with everything but the box can get an easy 400 dollars.   So minus paypal and ebay fees he can get roughly 6350 dollars profit.   I don't make a lot of money on these repairs.   I just do it as a service for the gaming community.

He did get 15 out of the 24 screens back.   If he wasn't so hasty I could have given him the waiver so he could have claimed his money from fedex.  Heck if the guy was reasonable and the claim failed for some reason i would have refunded my service fees for the ones that went missing.   I didn't claim the money from fedex cause hes the one with the package.

I had assumed that all of the units were in one package and he was just claiming they were not in there.  But the more I think about it I'm going to guess it required multiple boxes?  Could he be telling the truth in that case and a box went missing?

  10. My dad's family and my mothers family both had NES's.  I don't think my dad ever got any other games for it besides the gyromite and duck hunt pack ins.  From what I remember my moms side had Adventures of Lolo, Ironsword, Top Gun, Streetcop (even though they didnt have the mat to play with) and maybe one or two more I can't remember.  My dad purchased a SNES "for me" when I was born ('91) obviously it was for himself. By the time I could use it we had Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, Hal's Hole in One Golf, Tiny Toons, and one of the Bass Fishing games.  I guess all of these could be considered my first games as they were around from the time I was born.
