I find that hilarious. My kids love the fishing Labo game. You are seriously the first person I've seen challenge Labo counting. The code games I totally get both sides, but I just don't get the argument against Labo. Official 1st party release with a physical cartridge. It doesn't count because it's kitschy?

It more has to do with what Nintendo themselves said, or what I swear I read somewhere about them saying which is they don't consider them to be games. I may be wrong about them saying that but I'm pretty sure they did and it stuck in my mind. Like I said I see it more like an accessory or application.

  2. I recently had the having kids conversation with my girlfriend and we both seem to agree that older electronics would be okay, like a OG Gameboy on a car ride. "Here you go Johnny, here's a Gameboy and Pokemon Red, pray that we drive somewhere with a lot of street lights if we're driving in the dark. Have Fun!". But things like a personal cell phone wouldn't be happening until high school or they buy one themselves, whichever came first. I like hearing how current parents deal with it.

Yeah, they can be slow to update sometimes, but the list very accurate.

On the Nintendo Switch Discord, it's pretty easy to get an accurate ship date as the "I got my notification for .... " message, will appear several times through the day lol.  If you like I can give you mine.

I agree with you on Rocket League and Sonic Mania.  Both should be counted as two/seperate (I did the same with my list).

Harvest Moon Light Special Edition and Special Edition Complete have different cart codes (and product codes) and the Complete edition has more content on the cart. Harvest Moon Light of Hope Special Edition HAC P AD6QA/LA-H-AD6QA-USA vs. Complete Edition HAC P AD6QE / LA-H-AD6QE-USA - edit:  also, for clarity the name of the standard edition is "Special Edition" (not talking about a limited edition) and they later updated it to "Special Edition Complete"

If someone is considering a full set of Switch games, and don't get the Labo Kits, they won't have a full set. 😉

Also, I noticed you listed both Trine 4: Nightmare Prince and Trine 4 Ultimate Edition - tho the cover is different, the actual cart (and cart code on the game) is exactly the same.  The only difference is a download code and the cover.  In this way, it's more of a variant.

I must've clicked on two of the same Harvest Noon listings on ebay when checking the info last night.  But you were right they are definitely different. I can't count Labo I just don't have it in me. They're more like accessories to me

Aldi's is awesome, on a limited basis.

Fun fact - they are one of the highest ranked markets for baby stuff - diapers, formula etc.  Solid prices too, I only found Walmart to be somewhat close.

For processed stuff, they rock and are literally dirt cheap.  It was mentioned above as "half the cost" and it's not a joke - I can stock up on canned foods, frozen goods, cupboard type items - an entire cart full for like $60-75.

They have an extensive gluten-free section, including some crazy-good snickerdoodle cookies (I recommend and I can eat gluten).

They have surprisingly quality steaks air sealed at very fair prices.

Their produce/raw meats are decent - definitely good for shopping on a budget.

Their quarter for a cart system is pretty rad, until you show up without a quarter.  How many of us have a designated "Aldi's quarter" in our car?

Can usually be in and out in 30 minutes flat.

Is this quarter thing you guys are talking about the thing that unlocks and holds your quarter captive in the cart until you bring it bavk to it's coral? We've had those at my local Shoprite simce the 90's

I looked over your list and it's pretty much as you said -  I think you're just missing a couple from last week, the 4 LABO games, and a couple of the oddballs like the 2nd release of Harvest Moon Light of Hope (complete edition) and the new Sonic Mania (without the plus).  There's a little bit of clusterf•ck with the release dates as not all the big chains have been consistent (like Remothered, Harvest Moon: Mad Dash, Wargroove, etc.) - probably will even out by the end of the year when the releases slow down.

My list is by release date and follows very closely to the master list on the reddit Switch Collector group (with no pegi/asia releases).  General consensus there is to only add Limited Run games when they actually start shipping (and use the Ship date as the release date).

    oh, here's my switch stuff.

I went through the reddit list (thank you for the link by the way) and I found a about 3-4 that I missed from the past 2 weeks. So from what I've found there are 446 physical releases so far as of today (ESRB). This includes:

    • any LRG games that have/are open for preorder but may not have shipped yet (I personally don't give them a release date because I don't trust LRG reporting)
    • 2 versions of Rocket League. Reddit has one listing with a variant. But I count them as 2 because they have unique box codes/barcodes
    • 2 versions of Sonic Mania/Plus same reason as above
    • Only 1 version of Harvest Moon Light of Hope as they have the same box code/barcode
    •  Does Not include the Labo as it seems most don't consider them a game including Nintendo themselves if I remember right

So again that link was great I always read the reddit on my phone and never saw their list. I'll be using it to compare my list to from now on.

As of today, there's 435 ESRB released physical games with actual carts.

Do you have an easily exportable list for this? My list is at 426 as of Luigi's Mansion. I think the discrepancy might be with LRG titles as I don't add them in until I personally receive my orders. But I'm going to have to change that because I decided to stop trying to get them all mid-October.

Edit: Actually as I added those in I actually am sitting at 440 even with all released LRG games that have been available to order but have not shipped yet.

Not really a lot of imports, maybe about 70. We’re definitely waaaay past 425 NA releases, I have about that number and I feel like I’m missing hundreds. I know this sounds funny but I only buy what I think I’ll like, and have skipped anything I think will be shitty. I feel like a few crappy games kinda bring the quality of the whole set down, so I skip about as much as I pick up. No kiddie games, no shovelware, no Skylanders, no sports games, no Lego, no mobile ports, etc etc etc. I know it doesn’t seem like it, but I’ve been selective lol.

If you get a chance take a look at this

I believe my master list contains every game released for North America(around 425) minus some released this week that I havnt had a chance to add yet. If I really am missing that many games than Ive got a data problem lol

Hit 500 Switch games 😎 Stoked that Luigi’s Mansion 3 was the one to make the milestone!5DFD1D7B-D69F-486C-8D71-C1EE9517C6BC.thumb.jpeg.ed8fea64fc307282d142596716b24952.jpeg

Im guessing you have alot of imports? Or alot of collectors editions in addition to regular editions? I ask because we're only up to around 425 North American releases. Do you have all of those in addition to other regions or just a mix of everything?

Yeah, I should also clarify that the need for overlays is a personal (OCD) one and not for a feeling completeness or presumption of added monetary value.

Could you link or PM me his info? That sounds like something I should probably bite the bullet on.

It seems he doesn't offer full sets anymore only by individual game. The threads are old but if you PM him directly he still makes them I believe. Not sure if he makes anything for Intellivision

Yeah sorry man I wanted to get back to you but I had to keep a bit hush about it. None of that on here. We'll give it to ya straight.

Hey no hard feelings at all. It wasn't your fault. But you can make it up to me by letting me help out with whatever database you guys come up with when you get there 😋

Both are a pain in the ass, lol. Along with A5200, I feel like I spend more time tracking down games with overlays than anything else. I'm not even a box/manual guy but overlays seem essential.

I never was really all that concerned with the overlays. At least with 5200 they're almost all useless. I know it's usually taboo, but if I ever decided to get them there is a guy on Atariage that makes reproduction sets of them.

When/if you do might I suggest there be a way to delete double entries and such.  I did a bit over on the PlayStationAge database a while back and was always frustrating to come across double entries that can’t be deleted.

I worked on some ps1 stuff there and always ran into double entries, it was definitely frustrating.

I had this same problem adding to the Switch database. Admittedly some were my fault but it drove me crazy that I couldn't fix it. Not to mention other little issues and glitches (the edit box data deletes release day glitch and not being able to type in a developer). I messaged Gloves about getting permissions on NA to fix it a while back but obviously the owner pretty much ignored him.

No database is complete without the Amstrad GX4000!

Jokes aside, I agree. Sega, Sony, Xbox, Atari, SNK, and NEC can use some love. I think it should be done one platform at a time though to prevent us from getting overwhelmed.

Maybe start with four or five platforms (eg NES / SNES / Master System / Genesis / Game Boy) and add as we go.

I absolutely agree to add systems as we go. Start with the big ones and work our way through, there's no real rush.

Also doing multi-quotes is soooo much easier here.
