I think there's some evidence that a flu shot will at least reduce the severity of illness if you do happen to catch it

That is my understanding as well. While each person is different, my wife "forgot" (she doesn't like needles) to get hers and got a case of the Flu. My son did as well, he did have the vaccine. The difference in this case was that my son was sick for about two days, whereas she was ill for about five-six days. That is our personal experience, but is in line to how I understand it works.

Found a wavebird receiver on the cheap so I snagged a controller off of eBay and cleaned it up.

Love this! I've restored a few GC controllers over the years and its always satisfying. You should try to swap the analog sticks for fun next time. I found it quite nice having the C stick on the left. Nice work!

  3. You're right, probably not appropriate @Link. Generally speaking, "how to" make reproductions isn't a good idea. Labels would be ok as long as they're not of existing gaming. But how to wire up a repro isn't something that belongs here. There are people out there that would take the information and attempt to create one to one copies of existing games in the hopes of selling them as the real thing.

  4. After much debating I've decided to sell this part of my collection. They've been sitting on a shelf in a closet for far too long and its time to for them to go to a new home.

Included in sale: All 30 Nintendo "Black Box" Launch titles (listed below). All are 5 screw only, no clips here! Also included is the matching manuals (minus DK Jr Math manual), case protectors, and OEM Nintendo Logo cart sleeves. All of the carts and manuals are in really good shape. I took my time over the years procuring this subset. These items have been stored carefully in a pet/smoke free home.

(^Duck Hunt has the "foil" Nintendo logo and the camera didn't seem to pick it up with the flash)

I do flat rate shipping on all international orders. I tried doing it by location, but every single time it was always more and I was getting burned at the post office.  I can assure you if shipping is any less @Code Monkey, you'll be refunded the difference. Thank you for your order!

@Code Monkey, I've refunded you the difference for shipping. 🙂 Thanks again!

I am attempting to revive an a/v modded top loader. It use to work fine then slowly degraded. For a while it would only play the demo loop on any game and freeze when you started to actually play. Then it would only display a purple, red, or blue screen after turning on. Now it is just a black screen. I am figuring one or both of the main chips are shot.

Could be the chips, but I think they either work or don't work, not a slow death like you described.

Did you check the connections? It you have a multi-meter using connectivity mode, you can confirm that the red/green wires are sending the signal. If you're not getting a connection then you could maybe redo the wires and see if that helps.
