  1. A 5 fireball limit means a set amount of points. A timer limit forces one to consider how many fireballs they can hit in that time span and still beat the opponent.
  2. I am trusting the honour code here. It is either that or "Your run ends if you hit a fireball or star for points". Allowing some point pressing there can allow the winner to best optimize it.
  3. Added a rule that you have 1 full minute to beat Tao, so some point pressing will be allowed at stages 2, 7 and 12.
  4. Someone may have a cart with it, sadly, so outright banning it would be a problem. I put in a ruleset to try to disallow that glitch. If that makes rev 1.2 players to have a disadvantage for not being able to use the flying kick, then so be it.

  6. OSU!!! Welcome fighters! It is time to prove your martial art skills and determine who is the most skilled fighter. In order to settle this matter, our fighters will assume the role of Oolong and will have to battle difficult enemies in a classic game that sadly only saw a NES release in Japan, Yie Ar Kung Fu! The rules are as follow: Pick level 2 Play till you die your first time or reach stage 16 (Wang at grey background) If you are playing in revision 1.2, you are not allowed to freeze the opponents with repeated air kicks You must beat Tao and Lang (stages 2, 4, 7, 9, 12 and 14) within one minute time at each time. If you can't beat him within one minute time, your run is over. Pause and take your picture. Pause your game after you respawn if you die or at the start of the fight at stage 16 and take your picture. Highest score wins Genre: Beat em Up @Bearcat-Dougneeds a 5th place finish to secure the Beat em up championship, for he leads the scoreboard with 22 points over @PII's 14. @NESfiendis 3rd place with 13 points and has no shoot at the title unless @Bearcat-Doug doesn't post a score. The contest ends Sunday, 09/24/23 at 11 PM VGS time. Your user name MUST be written or typed on a piece of paper and be in the picture for your score to be valid. The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid. No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted. No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed. You must take a picture of your computer monitor. There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers. Also, the use of turbo controllers is forbidden, as well as any cheat codes, Game Genies, slow motion functions, or save states if playing on an emulator. Also, we will only be using NTSC systems for the contests. The use of PAL systems will NOT be allowed. Good luck everyone and have fun.

  10. OK, I changed the rule set to first death after the initial timer expires.
  11. Playing till game over makes this whole ordeal entirely too long to get a run in. I don't like that idea. We can do first death after the timer ends, though.
  12. I am quite happy that a fast rule set allowed for this kind of fiery competition in this game.
