Is CBD oil even illegal some places?

Yes.  And technically you're only supposed to be able to ship it via most carriers if you've got the proper licenses to show you're authorized to distribute it, can show proof of where it was grown, harvested, processed, etc.  So if you're not part of the business and ship it, that alone could get you in deep even if the state it leaves and the one it's destined two are ultimately ok with the contents.

When Colorado legalized pot Nebraska law enforcement began shaking down cars with Colorado plates going into Nebraska on the flimsiest of pretexts in order to search the cars for it since it was (and still is) illegal there.  Idaho pulls the same crap.

Apparently 3 states.

Idaho, Iowa, South Dakota.

Spoiler

In New Jersey, New Mexico, and North Dakota it’s legal without restriction. In Alaska, California, Washington, and many other states it’s legal but can’t be sold in combination with food or beverages—except in licensed cannabis stores.

In Vermont it’s legal, although when CBD is added to maple syrup it’s illegal to label the product “Pure Maple Syrup.”

That is so stupid lol

True, but it still can/will cause you to fail a drug test if your work randomly selects you, regardless of whether CBD and/or marijuana are legal where you live and work.  So even if something is completely legal where you are, folks with power over you who don't agree with that choice can still legally punish you for it (even though at that point it would be the same as firing someone for using tobacco and/or alcohol on their own time).
