Now you got a nice little mystery to figure out, and at the least, it works out of that shell (maybe in another?) It could be something so stupid he just didn't get it and you're set as well. Everything looked good, besides one of the internal clip tabs missing. Pcb was relatively clean but I hit it with some alcohol anyways. I put it back together and it seems to boot up just fine. I don’t see any issue with the game so far. Although my game gear probably needs to be recapped as the screen is distorted (not a unique issue to this particular game). But the game starts, sound is working fine and button presses are all being registered.
