Daily bump. Grabbing some common stuff on eBay at a good rate now. Surprising number of posters I didn't know about.
-
Did prices rise with the release of the other Analogue systems? I feel like their products are too niche and the supply too low to make much of an impact.

I'm looking to get into some more obscure systems this year. Specifically I'm interested in Master System, 32X, Sega CD, PSVR, and TG-16/PC-E CIB games. I'm also interested in pretty much anything CIB. I am happy to consider large lots as well. Please PM or comment. I'm happy to consider any offer for anything.

Haha. I enjoyed that game but they could have shaved a good 15 hours off and been no worse off. I almost quit RDR2 on a few occasions. Took me a while too.
Shaving 15 hours off would have made it substantially better, in my humble opinion. Just letting me run in the camp would have saved a solid 2 hours!
I liked the game, but good God they left a lot of room for improvement.

Maybe I'm just old now but I can't seem to play the same stuff I used too. I start an RPG and a few hours later decide I don't have time for it. Open world games are started and not worth the effort. Lately I'm playing smaller metroidvanias, platformers, and adventure games.
It's a bummer to look at games like Cyberpunk 2077 knowing I'm going to be busy with work and life. I guess it saves me money and I have enough of a backlog as is.
You guys have to go through this same shift or still playing the same genres as always?
Absolutely. My limiting factor used to be money, but now it's time. If it was up to me, all games would cap out at 20 hours for the single player portion. RDR 2 was such a slog and took me months to finish. I DON'T NEED TO WATCH MY CHARACTER POUND IN THE NAILS AS HE BUILDS A HOUSE.

I know they aren’t a lot of peoples’ cups of tea in the retro gaming/collecting scene, but two of my “top ten games of all time” are modern sandbox games. Fallout New Vegas and Red Dead. I love being immersed in the world.
That said I’ve been playing Starflight on the Genesis and I’m having a blast. It’s a very early “sandbox” type of game, and it’s made me want to seek out other similar styles of game like Pirates Gold. I think Shadowrun would be up my alley too.
Pirates! Gold is awesome. You will likely enjoy it quite a bit.

I have a ton of multiple CIBs thanks to buying eBay lots and my inability to resell due to my busy work schedule and family life. At some point I plan on combing through these to create a single best copy of each game then selling the extras. So I'm not really hoarding as much as I'm just waiting for an opportunity to sell. This will probably happen middle next year when I get out of the Army and have terminal leave.
In a related note, based on anecdotal evidence of what I find in lots, Bases Loaded, Silent Service, and Hoops sold a billion copies each.

Haha, I also suggest if you want your significant other to feel better about your situation, have them watch the "The Bits of Yesterday" documentary with you.
My wife felt a lot better about the whole situation after that. Did a lot of, "oh I guess you aren't a random crazy person". I also remember her pointing out that Dain looked like the most normal guy ever.
My wife cried when she first moved in and realized how much stuff I had.
Now I keep my collection organized and mostly stored away with the exception of the NES wall with custom shelves, which visitors seem to enjoy. She now tolerates the collection and me with little complaint.

Kickstarter is a fickle mistress. I've only Kickstarted one thing, Bloodstained. The game turned out great, but backing it was a huge mistake as the game dropped in price quickly and the backer rewards were made available to all. I learned my lesson.
-
NES due to nostalgia factor and the staggering amount of innovation the console brought to gaming. The library is crazy diverse and the boxart is fantastic. I'm working on a full CIB set and just nabbed one of the white whales, Panic Restaurant. Love this hobby.

Nice Shot!

Nothing too showy, but a decent little dribble as time expires to tie the game. If I had to guess we probably lost in overtime due to a boneheaded mistake, because that's usually what happens after I do something awesome.

If you like KFC more than the spicy tenders from Popeyes then we apparently live in a different reality from each other and this sandwich isn't for you.
I will try KFC once every few years to see if they have gone back to what I remember from when I was a kid, but they disappoint me every time, and their prices are terrible on top of it all.
Maybe it varies by market, in terms of the quality of the franchisees, but KFCs in my area are just not that good anymore.
So I will offer this caveat to my post:
If you like KFC more than the spicy tenders from Popeyes, just ignore this entire thread and move on with your life
I try KFC maybe once every ten years and always find it to be terrible.

Welcome to the VGS Rocket League Club! Use this space to say hello and drop your username and preferred platform if you're interested in some community shenanigans. The club will be minimally moderated, so go nuts! Make as many topics as you want and discuss everything from terrible teammates to the basics of rotating for newbies. Post videos of your greatest goals, best passes, stupendous saves, and biggest flubs for everyone to enjoy.
As for me, I've been playing on and off for about 4 years. My highest rank has been Champ 1 in Standard and Doubles, but I tend to spend most of my time in Diamond 3. I don't take the game too seriously and play on Xbox (Gamertag: RenegadeSaint), Steam, and Switch. I strongly believe that choice of car only minimally impacts your rank and I spent the first two years using the Warthog exclusively. Nowadays, I use the Mudcat and I play mostly Solo Standard (I might be a masochist).
Hit me up any time for a game or two. I'm usually on after 9p EST.
Let the games begin!

Super Mario Bros. 3 for me.
Now that is a quality choice. Some would say "Most Innovative" in the Mario series, but I'd say it's simply the best. Still so much fun to play today.

I'm finishing up Link's Awakening on the Switch. I am taking my time, but I'm in Turtle Rock. Once I finish that I think I'll return to my replay of the Professor Layton series
I can't wait to be play Link's Awakening, but it's gonna have to wait for me to play The Outer Worlds first.

I'm really looking forward to trying this. I don't eat much fast food, but I love Chick-fil-A sandwiches and regular Popeye's. What more could a man ask for?
