  1. The fact that you have that in your sights makes me less remiss that I haven't been able to put in the time. Played some this morning and started to really get the rhythm. Started really having fun with this. At the pool with my family scheming when I can find an hour or 2 before its over. 200 seems really possible. 300 sounds like madness
  2. Disagree there. He made it look AWESOME. I asked for one for christmas. My dad tried it out at KB toys and said it was junk. One of the only things I ever asked for and didnt get. I was livid. Years later, I bought a used one as an adult. Tried it out. Badly wanted to like it. It doesnt work for shit. Called dad and apologized for my childhood shenanigans. I took it to 30th anniversary wizard convention and got it signed by the wizard himself, Luke Edwards. Luke is like the nicest guy you will ever meet btw. So at least its a cool part of my gameroom.
  3. If you had a power glove, you would know that it functions like hot garbage and would quiver in fear at the thought of this possibility
  4. Man, all this is making me want to ditch pinball for rad racer. Thats probably happening in about 5 minutes
  5. So this is actually a lot of similar reasons I dont like the sniping. I see the players here as legends. I dont expect to beat either doug, or you the weeks you give a shit. But its fun to see where my score is at in comparison to the big guns. If Im making progress toward a doug score, it keeps me coming back to the game. Even if its slow. He put up 177, I feel like a 100 is in sight, so give it a few more games. If I dont get points, oh well. I got 150 to dougs 177? Thats a good showing. I make a podium in this crowd? Fuck yeah If no one posts til sunday, I dont get an idea of what is actually achievable. I dont know if Im getting anywhere, so a game Id rather play gets more appealing
  6. I thought you and I were the mediocre score kings. Now most weeks you are scoring and holding like Dr. M himself.
  7. Im an idiot. This game is fun. The lucky rooms are like gluttony for a score contest. I can see the complaints about it being slow. There are sections in the giant man's tummy that have no enemies at all and dude moves slow. I still enjoyed getting to know it. Not sure its as easy as people make it out to be. I had family in town, so time was real limited, but extra lives wouldnt help with the obvious gradius effect.
  8. Rules say play til you lose your first life.
  9. If you do the match play (I think, something like that) option and win against each of the CPU players, it doesnt pay money, but it raises your status from ameteur to semi pro then pro. The tourney prize money then triples for every tournament you play. Cant remember if the hole in one, closest to pins, and long drive prizes go up too. Either way, makes it way quicker to get to a mili
  10. 477,600 You cant fly over the mountains. What a fun way to end my first good run
  11. Until Doug mentioned it, I had no idea that a 1st round tyson victory was even possible. I usually get him down once, then try to get him down to his last little smidgen of health and run clock out. Since Doug did it, I have been meaning to find video of someone round 1ing him. I gotta see that
  12. Huge thank you to @SuperJimtendo for this unbelievable prize pack. Shipping was delayed because I left town and forgot to tell Jimbo I returned. The rocketeer drawing is so damn good. I was really blown away when I opened that. It will be framed and put up in the game room for good. The zelda tin is also badass and will be in my game room for good. Trying to imagine a way to combine that display with my CIB copy. Unfortunately the whole place is a mess right now. It may be a while before I find their permanent spots. My son immediately stole the mario stickers. I was lucky to get them back long enough to get a picture. Jim, thanks so much. This brought some really big smiles on an otherwise rough Monday. I cant tell you how psyched I am to have the drawing for my gameroom. I feel like its a customized flag for my NES competition team. One of very few true, personal one of a kinds in the room.
  13. Once I practice tyson enough using the code to be confident going into that fight, its macho man that makes me nervous. The delay from when he starts the motion for his spin punch to when it actually starts is maddening. Its easy to dodge too early and get smoked if you arent really on your toes.
  14. This has to be remedied. Its among the greatest games of all time and tyson is an insanely fun challenge. Its a crime if someone who even mildly likes NES hasnt played MTPO. You gotta fix this. The game is fairly easy except for tyson. Dodge, punch to stun, repeat until he isnt stunned. That strat will take you all the way to tyson. You can practice tyson using the tyson code below. 007 373 5963 As a kid, if you asked if I would have a better chance of one day becoming president or one day beating tyson on MTPO, I would have said president. Because someone will actually become president. Tyson was regarded as an impossible feat. Occasionally youd meet someone who claimed to know someone who could beat tyson. That person would be pretty quickly dismissed as a liar and never came back to prove otherwise. You have to check this out, just to know what it is if nothing else.
  15. Lol so I definitely guessed right. Sounds like Pizza Pii and I will have to battle for 2nd
  16. Im old enough and have enough kids to be of the 'just happy to be in the game' mindset. It was fun to beat tyson again, regardless of the scoreboard. Where the heck were you?
  17. Played that one as a kid at a neighbor's house quite a bit. Really fun game. The SMB3 stealing never occurred to me until reading about it online a million years later. Played through it for this thread and it was great overall, but a real drag by the end. A kids mcdonalds game didnt need to be that long.
  18. If my math is correct, this week's result puts @Richardhead in the lead in the sports category. Nicely done, richie! Rad racer will be fun and great scoreboard watching. I bet @Bearcat-Doug has some rad racer game. Ive always been a rad racer 2 guy, so it will be fun to try to get into the original. I predict a week long rivalry with @PII that ends in my defeat
  19. Some super punch-out would be a nice follow up to beating tyson again for the first time in years. MTPO was a hard game to follow up. They did a tremendous job with super punch-out
  20. Did I add up my time wrong? Scoreboard has exactly 2 min higher than my post.
  21. Does it cut it off all the way? Mine cuts a lot of it. You can barely make it out looking at the top half. If it does cut it all the way, take a pic of him down with the clock in it. You can always just add 99 tenths of a second
  22. I dont think full run matters - just time. Richie took a 10:00:00 on tyson and is still ahead of me. I beat him in the third round so it only saved a couple minutes.
  23. I figured TMNT 1 was sufficient to cover both the series and game wins. May be something you want to make stupidly clear in the rules. And you are right, you will have people second guessing themselves on whether this was turtles 1 or 2. I did briefly
