  1. Hey y’all, it’s been about a year since my last post, so I thought it would be good to update my SNES wanted list recap my year in hunting. I managed to grab three games this year. I got Run Saber from “Niner” here on VGS, which was exciting for me. I had wanted this game for a while but had never seen it im a condition I could live with. It’s a super fun game too. I mentioned in an earlier post that I had never seen College Football 97 anywhere in the wild. One day I walked into Video Game Trader in Calgary and found it sealed CIB for 60 bucks. Snapped it up right away. Just picked up Operation Thunderbolt yesterday from A&C Games in Toronto for an ok price. Overall I’d say progress has been slow. This due a bit to me not chasing as hard as I have in previous years, but also because I find it’s getting next to impossible to find a decent selection of these games anymore. This is true in Canada but also noticed it in the States as well (albeit with a very small sample size). I was in Vegas in Oct and visited the excellent Retro City Games thinking I’d be able to make a big dent in my list, but they had no games I needed (although I did pick up an awesome Exertainment Exercise Bike modem for $70, which is kinda cool). The folks running that shop were amazing though. They double checked their database against what I needed to make sure they didn’t have anything, and spent a bunch of time shooting the shit about SNES with me, which I always appreciate. Good dudes! I guess the market will continue drying up as years go by, but hoping I can nab the last 10 this year…or 9 as I fear DKCC is likely out of reach. Below is my updated wants list. Please do let me know if you have these and are interested to sell. I’d be more than happy to take them off your hands. Breath of Fire II Chester Cheetah’s Wild Wild Quest College Football 97 Donkey Kong Country Competition Dragon View Final Fight 3 Firestriker First Samurai Imperium Inspector Gadget International Superstar Soccer Itchy and Scratchy Kawasaki Super Bike Challenge Kirby Superstar Legend of the Mystical Ninja Liberty or Death Metal Morph Micro Machines Operation Thunderbolt Rise of the Phoenix Run Saber SOS Sink or Swim Shein’s Revenge Sid Meier’s Civilization Sim City 2000 Sonic Blastman 2 Spider-Man The Animated Series Spanky’s Quest Spindizzy Worlds Uncharted Waters: New Horizon
  2. Hi all, Quick update. I’m now down to 13 games remaining on my quest to complete my SNES collection. If anyone has these games and is interested in parting with them, please do let me know. Huge props to this community for being so helpful and supportive. Wouldn’t be here without you. Here’s what I’m looking for: Breath of Fire II Chester Cheetah’s Wild Wild Quest College Football ‘97: Road to New Orleans (EA College Football) Donkey Kong Country Competition Dragon View Final Fight 3 Firestriker First Samurai Imperium Inspector Gadget International Superstar Soccer Itchy and Scratchy Kawasaki Super Bike Challenge Kirby Superstar Legend of the Mystical Ninja Liberty or Death Metal Morph Micro Machines Operation Thunderbolt Rise of the Phoenix Run Saber SOS Sink or Swim Shein’s Revenge Sid Meier’s Civilization Sim City 2000 Sonic Blastman 2 Spider-Man The Animated Series Spanky’s Quest Spindizzy Worlds Uncharted Waters: New Horizon Also, some thoughts and musings on the ones I’m missing: - DKCC is almost an impossibility at this point, but I’m holding out hope. I bought a copy of the Retrozone Green repro from back in the day, but it doesn’t fill the hole the right way. I had the opportunity to buy a copy for 700 CAD at a game store in Ottawa about six years ago but I balked on it because it had a ripped label. Wish I had taken the plunge. - I have never seen the College Football 97’ in the wild or in a game store. Guess it wasn’t big up here… - What are the supernatural forces at work that cause ISS carts to be the most consistently scuzzy and beat up in he entire catalogue of games? I’ve been looking for this one since the beginning (20 yrs) and I’ve never seen one that doesn’t look like garbage. Very weird. - Sonic Blastman 2 is that game in my want list that has slipped through my fingers the most. I’ve been so close and lost it 8 times. I’ve had two ppl hold it for me only to sell it when I got to them to pick it up. That’s the way it goes sometimes though…
  3. It's been a busy few weeks at work, but wanted to share a pic of the latest additions in their new home (added another one of the entire SNES collection, in case anyone's interested). Thanks so much @Tanooki and @Jeevan for your help and sheer awesomeness in coordinating your efforts to get these games over to me. It's very greatly appreciated. Just edited my original post to reflect a pick up I made in Toronto a couple weeks ago. Only 21 games left. If anyone has these ones around and is looking to part with them, I'd be more than happy to work something out. Appreciate you all!
  4. Just edited my want list to reflect some pending sales. Appreciate all the help so far. Please do let me know if y'all have any of these that you'd be willing to part with. Thanks!!
  5. Very much ok with this. Very awesome of you both. Yep these three are great. I’m in no rush. Happy to wait brought the weekend for pics. I’m certain I’ll be happy with what you send, but we can discuss price from there. Really appreciate the effort. This community is absolutely amazing.
  6. That’s the guy. Looks great to me. Feel free to fire a DM over with your price when you’re ready, but I’m eager to pick it up. Thanks for checking into it for me.
  7. Absolutely...and appreciate all the help and support. This community has been instrumental in helping get to where I am thus far. Good group of people.
  8. Most definitely open to that. T’is the burden of being a Canadian collector. Let me know what you have and I’d be more than happy to chat off line and work something out. Appreciate it!!
  9. Oh I think I remember you. Did you come with the giant boxes of manuals?
  10. Awesome. Happy to take it off your hands if you’re willing to part with it? Shoot me a note when you have some time and we can go from there. Not sure what’s involved, form-wise, but happy to help out in any way I can. Appreciate it!!
  11. I can’t say for sure, but it’s possible. I met a bunch of former NA’ers at a couple meet ups Triheart organized. Did we meet there perhaps? If not, pleasure to meet you
  12. Hi all, This community (and the previous one from the site which shall not be named) has been instrumental in helping me achieve my 20+ year goal of completing a North American SNES cartridge set. I’m now on the cusp of completion, with only 29 games left to go, and I’m hoping to elicit the help of this community once more to help me cross the finish line. I’m in Calgary, Canada, and happy to help figure out shipping logistics for any international friends looking to send this way. I’ll consider loose, CIB and anything in between. Happy to consider all condition levels as well. Here’s what I’m looking for: Breath of Fire II Chester Cheetah’s Wild Wild Quest College Football ‘97: Road to New Orleans (EA College Football) Donkey Kong Country Competition Dragon View Final Fight 3 Firestriker First Samurai Imperium Inspector Gadget International Superstar Soccer Itchy and Scratchy Kawasaki Super Bike Challenge Kirby Superstar Legend of the Mystical Ninja Liberty or Death Metal Morph Micro Machines Operation Thunderbolt Rise of the Phoenix Run Saber SOS Sink or Swim Shein’s Revenge Sid Meier’s Civilization Sim City 2000 Sonic Blastman 2 Spider-Man The Animated Series Spanky’s Quest Spindizzy Worlds Uncharted Waters: New Horizons Would also be interested in any unique boxed SNES sets and items anyone might have, specifically the Killer Instinct and Super Game Boy pack-ins, and Mario Paint in-box (they’ve been a dream of mine to have). Very appreciative of any help this community is able to provide. You’ve all been wonderful to me and my collection over the years, and I can’t thank you all enough.
  13. I second this opinion. I appreciate how prolific a musician he is (Faith No More and Fantomas are fantastic), but Mr. Bungle is tough.
  14. Here’s a link to the seller’s eBay page HERE Definitely keeping an eye on these!
  15. I’m very much in favour. I’d greatly value a repository of info that I can refer to. Agree with Tanooki that it should be a place for info, and not for minute arguments.
  16. Slower for sure. I won’t purport to be something I’m not....but I’m pretty sure I’m the fastest guy on my block
  17. Most definitely. Would be great to hang out sometime soon
  18. I’m the Director of Media Relations for a telecommunications company in Canada. Been with them for 9 years this past week. Interesting job in an interesting field.
  19. Hey all. With mixed emotions that I’m writing this post. I was a member of the other site for over a decade (I think), and while I wasn’t an active poster, I so greatly enjoyed the dialogues and commentary that site housed on a regular basis. I’ve been going for a complete SNES set since the system folded and am roughly 60 games away. I can honestly say my collection wouldn’t be where it is now without the knowledge and support I gained from this community. I learned so much about this hobby, the system I love, and a whole slew of other neat things from the people who posted to that site. I purchased all my holy grails from members of that site, and I purchased a bunch of strange oddities from members so passionate about retro gaming that they’d pour their heart into producing things the community would gravitate towards (the Targa release and Megaman II soundtrack on vinyl come to mind...). I even had the opportunity to meet up with folks in person a few times in my town and share this hobby with others... all because of that site. Like many, I’m sure, my growing family and work life have kept my sparse participation on that site down even further over the last 1.5 years, but I’ve always enjoyed checking in from time to time to see what’s happening. Imagine my horror when I logged onto NA about 30 minutes ago to see the grotesque monstrosity it has become. I don’t think I need to say more than it’s certainly a hot pile of garbage, and definitely a disrespectful affront to the community. I was quite happy to see references there to thIs new VGS site. I’ve been here only a few mins, and basically just set up my profile and poked around a bit, but I did notice a ton of familIar names posting familiar things, and was pleased to see the community seemingly back up and running. I haven’t spent long on the site to determine who put it together, but thank you very much for doing it. Super pumped to poke around this new site and figure out how it all works. Apologies also for the long message. I was surprised how emotional I felt about the destruction of the other site, and felt compelled to sort my feelings out in a long-winded introduction post here. Pleasure to meet you all (again).
