Not exactly.
I’ve known about it personally for a little over a year. WATA’s list is outdated and they are aware of the variant though.
Don’t take any one source as gospel. No one person or entity is an absolute authority for all information in the hobby.
I too have this variant that was not on Wata's original list. It may be more common than thought.

Did RC Pro-Am cart ever have the seal moved down to the bottom right corner? I see late print boxes that did, so didn't know if that existed or not... I'm assuming no
Appears seal on cart still at top right but did come out as oval with TM and Oval with R

My hard number is “3” minimum.
Once I see three I start to consider it a variant…unless there’s some REALLY damning evidence then I’ll consider one or two copies (e.g. three screw stinger has a known REV-a box)
But I think I myself will update that number because there’s still not enough solid info about this 5-screw RC Pro-AM. Like, Konami & Ultra can be easily linked together so they’re not “stranger than they need to be”, but Nintendo?
I myself for now consider this a “suspected variant” with more info needed….same as the 3-screw DK Math’s. @Braveheart69 has one with a sticker on the back with no factory stamp.
Agree, if not multiple copies or the known evidence that makes sense to exist, then it is less a variant to me and more an "error" cart in my opinion.
Still cool and fun, but not really a variant.

The day this thread rendered itself useless - When Golf was presented at an angle where the oval badge looked slightly rounder causing mass hysteria...
Did anyone actually believe it was round? All I saw were people saying oval. Some being nicer than others.

Ok to me it looks round.
Looks round (circle) in that picture at that angle when you zoom in, but should be an oval when you get it and look at it.

My sealed Joust came in and it did not have the manual correction sheet, so both Jousts will be listed in the next update, which has already been submitted to gamefaqs and is just awaiting their approval. I'll update here once it's posted...
Nice! Was yours circle or oval seal? What was the 5 digit code on yours?

Do you remember his name?
Doesn’t appear I have any save history or anything on it.

If this was the one in the Seattle area on offer up I think I even messaged the guy and asked if he would ship and no luck/response back.

It's the same price to grade each time. The price doesn't change.
Even if they don’t have to “regrade.”
I guess it makes sense since they still have to update everything in their system.
thanks for all the cliff notes to all your wata research. -

They sure will. I'm looking at a Duck Hunt box now to combine with my manual / cartridge.
How much extra is it to open/combine the better grades? Not saying they did this, but seems like if you send in two of the same thing it would almost benefit them to grade different pieces in different cibs higher to make you want to send them back and combine and spend more money.

They specifically state on their website that they will not do this. I would theoretically need to resubmit both but they do say that the grades will carry over, they don't open and regrade.
Oh, so you could take your two graded copies afterwards and send those two back to them encased and then they will open and mix and match for you and put them back?

No trading, they will all be posted publicly for free. If you post them here, I will be putting them all onto one website.
I’m fine with the list going public but just saying, if I give you my list how long are you going to hold onto all the info before posting publically?

The one box got a 8.0 which is pretty good, I quickly found out it's extremely hard to get above a 9 because they go over them with a magnifying glass. Any scuffing on the box will lose you points so to get above a 9 without a cellophane seal is very hard.
After saying that, my particular cartridge was discoloured which seems odd because I have 3 of these same cartridges (2 of these boxed and another spare) and have laid them next to each other without noticing. I also thought the manual was pretty perfect but apparently it only graded a 6 which is also very strange but maybe I missed some damage on it.
The strangest thing of all is I had both sets laid out on my bed before submitting and I picked the best box, manual and cartridge from both sets to get the best grade and somehow the manual from the worse set graded a 6.5 while the manual from the good set graded a 6 so I don't know how that happened.
Either way, I'm not the expert so I just trust their judgement and it's more likely I missed something, I didn't go through each page of the manual.
Interesting. I wonder if eventually they will have an option for you to submit multiple copies at the same time and allow them to piece it together with the highest grades and lowest grades.

Sweet. I am compiling a list as well @Code Monkey Care to trade yours for mine when I get it done?

Cartridge was a 9.6. I don't think they grade pins, just exterior appearance and these most likely were never removed from the boxes.
Based on the pictures of the pins it looks like they were used or at least put in a system.

These can't be added to the list but it's about as close as any of us will get for test market games. I bought a NES Test Market Deluxe Set recently and these were inside in amazing condition. The matte seals were cut but the contents looked like they had never been disturbed, Wata even graded the contents in the 9s which is unheard of for non-sealed.
Gyromite:
Standard Inserts
- Plastic Baggie
- 1985 Nintendo ROB Poster (No Code)
- Nintendo Logo Sleeve
Variants
- *5 Screw, Round SOQ, Title TM, No NES TM, No Made in Japan, No Code, w/Adapter (Cart)
- *Round SOQ, Printed in Japan, 1985, Caution Highlighted, No NES TM, No Code (Manual)
- *Matte Sticker Seal, Hangtab, No NES-GP, No Code, No NES TM, No Rev-A, Round SOQ (No Code)
Did you say you sent this in to wata for grading and it was in the 9s? Curious how the carts graded with the pins looking like they had been used.

With regards to the duck hunt above I have seen the 8539 cart twice from collectors with a matte sticker seal pre deluxe set that was basically from a time capsule. Although it confuses me as to why a matte sticker seal duck hunt I bought a few years ago came with an 8542 adapter cart. Any ideas?
Is it perhaps that I have a copy that was sold separately as a standalone game and not one packed inside a pre deluxe?
Maybe they had some initial stock and then ran out and had to use the adapters for duck hunt

To be honest, I'm not sure if a variant of Jeopardy 25th exists. I've never seen one but @DoctorEncorehas a better eye for things like that.
I think you are right. I don’t show any variants on any of my lists right now. If you don’t open by December I’ll open it on my Bday.

That Hatris is a bit rich for my blood. I believe I sold a Jeopardy 25 to @austin532 specifically to open, so I think he'll get to that eventually.
@austin532 I came across a sealed Jeopardy 25th I was debating about opening but didn’t want to duplicate. Is that still in your plans to open? Can your shoot me pictures of it too? If it is a variant of like a seal or even just like oval seal TM and Oval Seal R I might still open my copy after yours to see if there were any variants to the inserts.

I’ve got two of the reverse seal SMW now if you want to add a X2 to mine

I expect to be done by this summer if I can get some rare pieces.
There's certain mail cards and posters that are once in a year items that I may just have to borrow from someone to get the project done and wait for my own to pop up.
If I have any of the hard to find ones, I’ll let you borrow for scans, just PM the list and I will look through all my inserts.

So I need an opinion....
How rare are the Tiger-Heli 5 screw carts or the Urban Champion 3 Screw carts?
Because I bought all of the online ones. (4) and (3)Why did you buy so many?

I think it is a great resource, and no one has a fully "Definitive/final" list of all variants- even those of us that collect them. Wata's list also even included "possible" variants in purple etc.
As far as value, I am not your best resource. Hope all goes well with your sale.
