I like the Dia de los Muertos look on this one. It also has a bit of a Voodoo vibe to it.

Actually you’re absolutely right, yep the Jucy Lucy is ours and Matt’s Bar and the 5/8 Club claim they invented it. (Matt’s is better).
It seems like Matt's bar actually has a story to explain the creation, where the 5/8 club just claims to have invented it.

A few NWCs were reported to have come from Nintendo or event employees rather than finalists, and one person who was at a regional tournament said that he and his dad swiped one that was lying around unattended. So not all of them came from finalists.
From what I recall, my old #311 cart originally came from a Nintendo employee that had a few unused extra carts that were kept on hand in case one of the carts in the gaming stations went down.

The penultimate entry! Almost there!
I'll keep my fingers crossed that my Simon Belmont sprite gets picked for Halloween even though I already got the Excitebike racer picked early on.

Kentucky just steals all of Cincinnati's cool stuff. They don't even have any pro sports teams of their own even though UK's basketball team probably has a higher payroll than the Bengals and Reds combined.

Every year at least 10-20 titles are released that are superior to Double Dragon. It cannot hope to compete with the Silksongs of the world.
I had to look up what Silksong is and I'm pretty sure that I'd rather play Double Dragon.

Learning new video games is a great preventive measure for Alzheimer's.
I just made that up, but it sounds right so I'm rolling with it
That explains why the Wii was so popular in nursing homes!

Colorado doesn’t have a specialty. That’s always annoyed me. Rocky Mountain oysters don’t count.
You left out the Denver/Western omelet.

There's only 2 or 3 Skylines in the Cleveland-ish area. That stuff is definitely a Cincy area thing.
There are several Skylines in south Florida. Apparently there was enough demand from retired Cincinnatians for them to open a half dozen locations there.

Upwards and onwards. Evolve. Don't stagnant. Continue growing. Variety is the spice of life. Other cliches.
Me at the prospect of playing anything made after 1995.

I’d say the closest thing we have in Minnesota would be hotdish (tatertot hotdish is a good example) or walleye for food.
For beer, we have the second oldest brewery in the US, Schell’s still pumping out quality lagers, and our craft brewery scene is probably top 3 in the US. I would only trade for the scenes in San Diego and Portland, Maine if given the choice.
Isn't the Jucy Lucy burger like the Minneapolis version of the Philly Cheesesteak where it's so popular that two different bars swear they invented it?

How many SuperBowls in a row will they be winning? Double digits????
I'd be happy if the Bengals can manage to win one in my lifetime since I've been around for all three losses. At least I got to see the Reds win a World Series even if it was 33 years ago.

Goetta is another Cincinnati staple besides our famous chili. I personally never really cared for it, but it's a pretty big deal around here.

Here is a list of some other local Cincy specialties that are less well known outside of the area.
We also have a fairly diverse selection of local breweries.

This is a fair point, but even minor outside elements are still elements. What made you decide to purchase this game? Were you anticipating it for weeks or months in advance? Was it a bargain bin steal? A long awaited sequel to a series you love? Did you wait in line at launch to buy it, or take a random Thursday off at launch to enjoy it in it's entirety?
I know it sounds silly to break it down this way, but these are all outside factors that could subconsciously change the gaming experience.
That's what makes this a tough question for me to answer. A good game will be fun no matter what, but an average game can be more enjoyable if there are other factors adding to the experience.

Maybe the Bengals need to switch conferences. They've lost to Cleveland, Baltimore and Tennessee, but they're 4-0 against the NFC West. Seems kinda backwards.

@twiztor I almost forgot to pick a sprite from Demonhead for you, but I went with this funny troll guy.

That one is really good! You would have been great at doing illustrations for NES manuals back in the day.
