You and @Gloves are going to have me beat by Friday. At least I just need to finish 4th if you win again this week to win the beat em up title.

Maybe being 1985 had something to do with it. Early fighting games on consoles were lousy in general. I know that something much closer to the arcade version could've been done on the NES.
My guess was that maybe it was rushed since it was one of Konami's first releases, but it's barely even playable.

The original arcade game was developed by Konami. It's amazing that they also did such a half assed port of their game.
That's what's so confusing. According to Wikipedia, it's one of the four Famicom games that Konami published in 1985, but Antarctic Adventures was released at the same time and it's way better than this.

And I'm a total Konami fanboy when it comes to their NES stuff. Almost everything they released on the NES is good/great. I even like Bayou Billy.
That's what makes Yie Ar Kung Fu seem so off. It feels like a bootleg version with the different character names, background and music instead of something Konami released themselves.

Yie Ar Kung Fu is an F. It's not good.
I'm guessing that's why it didn't get a NES release. It has to be the worst Konami game on the system.

props for the change of venue reference. We have a right to change of venue or change of judge or both. Its a monster part of defense strategy here. If I were making a video game on defense lawyering, those decisions would be integral

Never played it and probably never will. I know the franchise has its fans, but Lawyer Game sounds terribly boring. "Quick, press the acquit button!"
I bet @NESfiend will give this a 10.

Level 12 gets me every time, but if I can get past it I'll demolish @Bearcat-Dougs score.
You're gonna make me keep playing this to pay me back for the Yo! Noid contest aren't you?

I think it really comes down to simply "pinky promise to not abuse it". Like, in my runs he basically shoots one or two fireballs, then I trap him in a corner and he never does it again, so the point is moot.
It's different with the throwing stars cuz she'll throw them from relatively close range, but even so once I get her cornered it becomes a non-issue.
The throwing star chick will throw much more often than fireball guy does his thing, so she's more farmable if someone were so inclined. Fireball guy will approach you much faster while throwing star is happy to hang back more.
No sane person wants to play three loops of this. You are better off going for the 5000 point perfect bonus instead of farming projectiles.

But you said you were done for the week.
Yeah. I'm not point pressing fireballs or ninja stars. I did what I could and hopefully it gets me in the top 5.

True, much more active than last year. Overall much better selection of games and shorter season helped.
Just looking at overall leaderboard, it looks like we only have about eight regulars, but the more popular games seem to be good for another 5 scores or so.

I think there was some late contest fatigue in the scores because we're so close to the end of the season. Or the top 5 probably would've all been over 100k.
I wanted to get over 100k but I kept dying to stupid mistakes whenever I was doing well. Like going too fast to get away from an enemy car and crashing even though I still had some oil or smoke screen.
It looks like there were 13 scores posted this week so that's pretty good for this late in the season.

Was at folsom field yesterday for the Rocky Mountain Showdown. That was the most incredible football game I’ve ever been to.
I bet! It looked great watching on tv.

I'd like a bigger screenshot because I still have no idea what it's from.

Oops, you're right.
I'm even more surprised I got 4th. I only had one solid day to play all week.

You were so lucky that Gloves didn't bump you out of fifth. That was close.
Unless I missed a score, I finished 4th and he got 5th. It was close though!

Thanx! This game's a lot more fun than I had previously thought based on having slotted it a couple of times for a couple of quick plays. It strikes me that a lot the older games are like that, requiring a little more time and effort to realize just how good they are. I'd love to crack 200K today or at least get close. Not making any bets though...
Congrats on the win and the arcade championship!
