  1. That was really cool.  Cloud cover threatened us earlier in the afternoon but we ended up with clear skies.  Definitely a memorable 3+ minutes.  It’s amazing how the experience changes completely in an instant and the glasses can come off.  10/10 would ride that ride again.

  2. I played a variety of sports in my youth but from middle school through high school I played football and wrestled — pretty mediocrely at that.  Since then I’ve had an on again off again relationship with working out.  Usually heavily lifting focused because I’m fat and really do hate cardio.  I‘ve found that as I’m getting older I really actually enjoy working in yoga because it feels good to be able to touch my toes and I naturally have the flexibility of a GI Joe.  Back in high school on our wrestling team it was kind of a hilarious oddity that our state runner up heavyweight/star fullback could not get me in a cradle no matter how hard he tried lol.  My body simply would not bend that way.

I’ve always been open to some sports games.  I like NES Golf and have nostalgia for playing it at my grandparents as a kid.   NHL 94 is a good but I actually had and thus was more into 93.  The arcade sports experience was always fun.  NBA Jam, NFL Blitz, Ken Griffey winning run, Mutant League Football/Hockey (football was better).  As a teen i got the first iterations and some scattered other years of NFL Gameday, NBA Shootout, and NHL Faceoff.  I played a bunch of the Mario Tennis in college.  If the mood struck, I wouldn’t be opposed to playing whatever the sports franchises are now.  I enjoy fantasy football quite a bit.  Does that count?

As for watching it, I mostly just watch football on tv.  I get push alerts about the hockey team so I keep up pretty well with what’s going on there even though I haven’t watched a single game lol.  I also really enjoy taking the family to baseball games even though baseball sucks.  It’s super cheap and going to the stadium is a really cool experience.

She can never know dude.  To my grave.

I find it kind of hilarious that if we have a conversation about anything I will immediately thereafter gets ads about it.  They’re not even trying to hide it anymore.  My phone is basically a big old spying device that has my pretty much everything on it.  🤷‍♂️  no one is willing to do anything about this capitalist hellscape we live in so I guess that’s just how it is.  At least make the ads useful to me and not Temu and he gets us shit.
You know what really pisses me off?  We use the white noise on Alexa when we sleep and every 4 or 5 nights she rolls into an unstoppable ad about paying to not hear the ad.  It’s super long and just awesome when I’m sneaking into bed at the wee hours.  But here’s the thing that really gets me — after you listen to the speech and tell her no you don’t want the thing she doesn’t even play the fucking white noise!  Uhh I hate Amazon.

  4. Facebook is awful all around.  I briefly check it sometimes but the only activity happening on my account is when I’m tagged in family photos.  It’s kind of a historical curiosity for me.  My account is from back in the college-only days. I do find having access to an account still to be a necessary evil sometimes because of how many entities in my world communicate by means of Facebook.

Reading any comment section is an exercise in watching insanity.    There is something fucking wrong with those people.  Also, why the hell do I have to click the button to see all comments?  Format sucks.  Company is so slimy. I have nothing nice to say about it.

  5. Since you’ve been gone is some pretty standard ass classic rock fare.  Gave it a 6.

Rainbow in the Dark got a 9 from me and I had to push down the urge to give it a 10 based on the description.  It‘s awesome and among my favorite Dio songs but not the favorite.  Ahhhhhh.  Fuck it.  I’m bumping that shit up.  I don’t need no stinking rules.  I do what I want!

    10.

I had a late breakfast at one of my favorite restaurants  (The Westwood) this morning. I ordered a new menu item - the "Jeffrey Dahmer Special".  Quite tasty.

Actually it was a ground chuck and eggs breakfast special.

I’ve always thought someone should start a cannibal themed restaurant.  Not me, but someone.

Also, I forgot all about this but last fall we spent a long weekend in downtown Chicago and went to breakfast around the corner from the hotel at Venteux Brasserie one morning (lured in by the bottomless Mimosas).  We pretty quickly realized that we were having breakfast next to Mark Harmon
