A word has a definition for hundreds of years and now all of a sudden it's different? I don't understand how anyone can think this is possible.
Dude, this happens all the time
Have you ever heard someone say "Oh wow, that's totally sick!"
Standard definition of sick: affected by physical or mental illness.
But in today's vernacular sick can mean "illness" or "awesome" - so yeah, words change and garner meaning, which as teachers will tell is part of a "living language".

Secret of Monkey Island is amazing!
If LRG was releasing the remastered (or whatever you want to call it version) on the PS4/Switch, I would be all over it! As it stands... it's cool, but I won't be purchasing it. Same for Rebel Assault. I would like to add, that Monkey Island was released on physical disc in Europe, including the UK, for the Xbox 360. In this instance, it IS playable on NTSC consoles! So, if you still have a 360 and have never played Monkey Island, do yourself a favor and purchase the physical version which is fully orchestrated, narrated, and it also includes the remastered version of LeChuck’s Revenge - oh, and in both games you can seamlessly switch from "classic" graphics to the updated versions and the same for music!
Currently, the only game I am interested in from LRG is Myst which I think will be lovely.

I used to message sellers whenever I ran across stuff like this. Sellers would message me back maybe 40% of the time and it was as if I called their mother a whore...
Yup, that's pretty much it.
I'm quite certain these sellers know what they're doing. I feel sad for someone that purchases a "brand new" PS1 game only to find out that no one else considers it "brand new" because it's open! Remember, we were all naive collector's at one point in our lives.

Thing is, he wanted to reach an altitude of 5000 feet....
well, airplanes fly 30-40 thousand feet, and you can purchase balloons on the cheap that can reach altitudes of 100,000 feet. But, perhaps you can't trust airplanes and balloons these days...

Curious if this is a new scam on ebay? I was looking up prices on older games, and SO many sellers are advertising things as "Brand New" or often simply "New".
ebay -- Brand New: An item that has never been opened or removed from the manufacturer’s sealing
Which is the definition of "new". Yet, sellers list items as brand new and then say things such as:
Hello, this unplayed copy is from my personal collection and has been treated with the utmost care.
Yeah, well, that's not the same as "NEW" is it you lying asshole! I swear, as I'm getting older I have less and less patience to deal with lying assholes which appear to be everywhere...

Thanks for sharing this. This stuff really interests me. Film is really neat. I've been watching many YouTube videos recently about film preservation and restoration. I just sent in my grandpa's 8mm videos from the 60s. I'm excited to see the 2k scan results.
I love old movies/films! I think the power of restoration and what we can do can truly bring history to life! Not just that, but also helping preserve and repair old cinema is wonderful. I suppose a lot of people like and go to modern blockbusters such as Star Wars, Superhero... etc.
Myself, I'd honestly much rather watch an old silent film, or Ingmar Bergman, or something I find more meaningful and less flashy. That's just me

It's pretty amazing, and honestly, rather frightening what you can do with computers! May have to rewrite the adage "don't believe it unless you see it"!
Still, no denying that neural networks algorithms can do some amazing things, such as rejuvenate films over 100 years old!

Yeah, it's a year old, but I'm still stoked about this! Darkest Dungeon is a masterpiece, and hopefully DD2 lives up to its predecessor! I have high hopes, after all 1)they are taking their time with the game 2)they care about their game 3)they're not Blizzard (nor EA)!
ps Definitely a Mountains of Madness vibe...

Limited Run Games
in General Collecting Discussion
Posted
These games are
1)NOT made illegally
2)NOT distributed illegally
3)NOT sold illegally
Therefore, these games are not nor were ever bootlegs. I have noticed from the beginning, there was always some "fuss" (for lack of a better term) among collectors regarding such games. As far as I can tell the main impetus seems to be either that people are worried that these "special releases" of classic and hard-to-find games will drive down the price of their original games, which is certainly a possibility. Or that some collectors just have OCD, or a combination of both.
I think it was a missed opportunity to release these for the Sega CD and not modern consoles, but honestly I'm sure these will sell out so from a marketing perspective this is good business for LRG and I can't blame them.
