  1. While I'm in the mood, here are some photos of the Link's Awakening DX CIB that came with the -1 manual. Date on manual and box match exactly 991028. Battery in cart says 99 09. Btw, now that NES is done, I'll probably work on my lists for SNES, N64, GB, GBC, GBA. This year I decided I'm no longer collecting disc based variants as I got overwhelmed and cardboard is more exciting to me anyway . @0xDEAFC0DE, you got them all on your list, except this one I think you're missing for OOT. It came with v1.1 (cart 'A' stamped back), it is different from the "gray cart version" box. It has an 'F' on one of the tabs, who knows what it means.
  2. And to my amusement, this rare variant also popped up during the same week. You were right after all haha @0xDEAFC0DE I have updated my list and I think I finally got them all! So it takes 15 CIBs to have all the Zelda NES variants and 7 CIBs to have all Zelda II NES variants. Could we be missing any? I'll post a pic of all variants together in a few months. I'm actually missing the cart for this baby, but I do have a matching manual. I'm also missing one baggie, I got 19 circle cut baggies , but need 20.
  3. I've been collecting all the original Link's Awakening releases for about 10 years now and always wondered where the player's choice 'E' rated cart came from and I finally got closure! @0xDEAFC0DE @RH I bought one CIB recently and the seller said he was the original owner. Just like @bluebomber's copy, mine also came with a -1 box and -3 manual. For a long time I thought this might have been bundled with the Ice Blue game boy pocket, but never saw them together. I also happened to pick up another one with a -3 manual, but -1 cart about a year ago. After this find, it is obvious that the -2 manual came with a -1 box, we just need to figure out the date on the box. I do have the -2 manual with date 980302, unfortunately I didn't get it CIB, but will keep looking! My -3 manual that came with the -1 cart has a date of 980724 and the -1 box has a date of 980728. Unfortunately, I didn't open the cart and I don't have it with me, I can probably check this sometime in May haha. My -3 manual that came with the -3 cart has a date of 980820 and the -1 box has a date of 980819. Cart says 9818B, is that the 18th week of 1998 or what? EDIT: Looks like battery has a date "98 06". I'm pretty sure the -2 cart only came bundled with the Ice Blue GBP and I don't really think an 'E' rated "-2" box exist, but let me know if you see it pop up. Pics of the 'E' rated -3 cart CIB: Pics of the -1 cart with -3 manual CIB: Box dated 980728 Pics for bragging purposes:

  5. Thanks for the replies! Good to know that this was offered bundled-only when it first came out. Although what I'm really wondering is, if later this was available without the big box AND before the player's choice release.
  6. Back with the same seller haha https://www.ebay.com/itm/174523302266
  7. I'm wondering if anyone here remembers, for sure, if you could buy Zelda Four Swords Adventures for the GameCube without the big box (cable bundle) back when it was originally released (non-players choice). Thanks!
  8. Before the auction of the original post, this exact same game was sold under a different username, same seller I'm guessing. Originally it went for a lot more as it looked more legit in the photos IMO. https://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Legend-of-Zelda-NES-1987-REV-A-Round-SOQ-Mid-Production-Factory-Sealed-/353187804953?_trksid=p2349526.m4383.l44720.c10&nordt=true&rt=nc&orig_cvip=true
  9. I did look at that one before it expired, but I don't think you could tell it was a "no code" box, it was just the angle the picture was taken from. Did you save the pictures from that listing? I tried getting more pictures or just a reply from that seller, multiple times, but they just refused to do any communication and I would have bought it, but no response. It was too expensive just to buy without knowing if there was no code. It was similar to this one where there could be no code if the angle was slightly different https://www.ebay.com/itm/184196783805
  10. I have updated the list again as I found out that there are at least 3 different "no code" manuals. I will check all the no code manuals I have again in December. A 4th variant (3rd actually, and the 4th one would be below) could exist if anything changed in the manual with the first release of MiJ cart, but looking at the differences between the original manual and the one with the precautions note, most probably only 3 variants exist. 1st print manual has NES^TM 2nd print manual has NES^R 3rd print manual adds the precaution notes that were originally in the back of the carts to page 2 of the manual. This came with the Rev-A no code box/cart and logic tells me it should have come with the first Rev-A cart too as this is when they removed those notes from the back of the cart. It went from this: To this:
  11. In blister pack PLUS box, damn! So maybe all of them came in a blister pack? haha
  12. More info: Link's Awakening "first print" has 2 box variants, one glossy and one matte box. I don't have pictures right now (not until December end). I believe the glossy box is the real first print because the matte box has a similar texture to the player's choice box. Link's Awakening has a -2 manual, I'm not sure where it came from. I'm also not sure where the player's choice cart with 'E' rating came from, possibly with the GB Pocket ICE color bundle? I know that bundle came with the non player's choice 'E' rating cart. Some OOT N64 standard edition boxes, have a text inside that reads "gray cart version". I'm assuming these are the first print standard edition, most don't have this. OOT N64 cart variants are gold cart v1.0 and v1.1 (A stamped back), gray cart v1.0, v1.1 (A stamped back), v1.2 (B stamped back) and player's choice cart v1.2 (B stamped back). Link's Awakening DX 1st print is holographic with built-in cart holder, 2nd print less shiny holographic with removable cart tray, 3rd print is not holo. Each variant has its corresponding carts/manuals I believe. I need to check again. Skyward Sword variants that I know of are, 1) w/ music CD, 2) w/ gold wiimote, 3) no-foil artwork cover (I don't think you mentioned this one). CDi has some "vertical/rotated case" variants for Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon and Link: The Faces of Evil, check: https://www.ebay.com/itm/323770952618 and https://www.ebay.com/itm/283550098347 but I'm not sure if they're European variants, all Zeldas Adventure seem to come from Europe though. Game & Watch Zelda [ZL-65] also came in blister pack. OOT 3D Nintendo Selects also came in a red case (instead of the standard white 3DS case). They were sold at the Nintendo store in NYC at least for the 2nd half of 2017.

  15. What's up? I haven't been posting frequently on NA for a while as I've been very busy with life stuff... but happy to make the switch and start lurking here now. I will transfer my threads later It would be very nice to have a "Latest Topics" shortcut/link added on the top, it was my way to quickly check anything new on NA. Cheers!
