Congratulations man! Next time you need to take the four hours flight and stop over to visit @OptOut and myself.

anyways, that's a really nice piece and one that I'd love to own (and subsequently finally try out) someday.

Oh no it flew to me lmao I think it’s something like a 20 flight from NY to Japan haha

213,260 - man the person you are chasing really takes a beating. I was all over it and got him on fire but he still kept going lol

232,270 - basically if you spin out twice against the runner give up cause there isn’t enough time to catch back up. If you spin out twice before spotting him give up as well

301,850 - Select for the turbos helps but isn’t great. Made a bust in the first level and didn’t even get close in the second level so I’ll call it a day on this one

I only played till the first time I run out time, I was considering that game over

  3. Ah you replaced the dead caps with SMD caps. I just made an order to console5 to replace caps on a console I got from eBay but went with the leaded radial caps instead to make the job a bit easier. I don’t plan on putting the shield back on

  4. Modern Warfare III Campaign. I know I know everyone crapped on it but I just had to check it out. Extremely lazy that the campaign now has like Warzone type open maps for the campaign with the same looting mechanics. I don’t think it’s terrible but it’s definitely not what you are used to. There are some of those linear missions as well but the whole thing just feels recycled.

I did buy Helldrivers 2 but I returned it before I opened it, I’m a one man show when I play games so playing with other people isn’t really for me is what I decided once I got it in the mail. Plus I heard the community is already getting pretty toxic so I’ll pass on that. I might play some team death match on CoD but I definitely won’t play it in a group.

Pigs get fat; Hogs get slaughtered.

The sad thing about it all is that I believe WATA could have been successful WITHOUT all of this shady nonsense. They had the support of the community, a good product and service. The information on variants and print releases was beneficial to the community, informing the uninformed. The business strategy was sound and they accurately identified inefficiencies in the graded videogame market. There was very little competition other than VGA

But they got greedy. They did not want incremental growth. They wanted to get really rich really fast. And that is when a pig becomes a hog. None of this was necessary. Pat gets at this point toward the end of the podcast, albeit from the angle of natural growth of graded game prices.

They would have gotten all the help they needed from the pandemic. It’ll be great justice to see them have to pay back all that money in class action purely because they were so greedy about it.

I think we need to delineate the idea of grading games from this nonsense.

Yes, I know it was a big scam. A pump-and-dump. Many of us have been talking about it for years (while getting accused of being “anti-grading” and getting warned from mods about it?)

There is still significant utility in authenticating and grading games. I was gonna send some games to wata and cgc (to try them out)

But now maybe just cgc. I want to see how this plays out with wata and their reaction if anything comes of the case.

On the topic of other grading companies whatever happened to that dude that came around and was opening up his own graded game company and you had to like send your games to his house?

Well, as a casual seller, I've found there's nuance to this.  When you list an item for free shipping, I think eBay either defaults to the last shipment method you might have used, at least in a similar or same category.  They make assumptions about what might be the cheapest shipping method and just show that, or rather, they "calculate" what shipping they will use if you pay for shipping through eBay.

So, I'm not saying you can't force it but if you are a casual seller (or maybe if you go through a ton of inventory) but you just post stuff with free shipping, you may not know or pay attention to what eBay showed the buyer.   You then whichever tool you want to use for shipping labels and there may not be a match.

But, I will say that for a long time I used PirateShip.com and I still do out of habit.  However, every time I've checked which is probably 20 packages in the last year, eBay seems to have negotiated the same rates as Pirate Ship.  I recommend using their label service since they can deduct the cost straight form the sale so you don't have to get a deposit and then log the transaction in your bank register, or move the funds to Paypal, or whatever.  It really does cut down on a step.

So, in my opinion, I wouldn't worry about it if the items are a couple of days late.  I personally don't pay attention to these details until items are really, really late.  USPS Ground is usually as fast as Priority Mail so I also see why a seller may not care.  Regardless, if you feel justified in asking for a refund because shipping prices are different, then do what you feel.  I guess you have that right and I wouldn't take issue with it if you did.

I asked on both and got about a 5% refund on both. You are usually right about Ground Advantage and Priority taking about the same time but with these two in particular, they both have been delayed and I’m annoyed about it. Plus if you are gonna ship USPS Ground Advantage just set that as your default shipping service and don’t be a lazy ass seller

Although the more people that know about and start using the cheaper service it’s bound to start taking longer and longer

I heard from somewhere that because this stuff is all collectibles there aren’t any laws or anything that prevents people from being smelly turds.  So while WATA/HA are a bunch of smelly turds, did they legally do anything wrong? Ethically and morally, without a doubt yes.

now, I know nothing about the law, so all this stuff I said could be a bunch of horseshit.

I’ve been battling with this myself, really from a civil perspective all they did was not meet their own SLAs for their grading tiers. Sure maybe the class action lawsuit gets money back for that and lawyers fees and damages or whatever the judge thinks is fair. Criminally, what real charges are there here? There are always people out there falling for the next get rich quick scheme and sure the people who are in on it and the early people who come in make money but someone somewhere is always the bag holder. It does look like it’s getting easier and easier to price fraud though so who knows. I dunno it’s all speculation at this point all we can do is follow along on the class action I guess.

Here is a funny SEC filing that lists Mark Haspel as a promoter and Jeff Meyer as a director: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1711064/000171106418000002/xslFormDX01/primary_doc.xml

Nice to see the WATA/HA media control team here using their fake online handle!

I'm 100% fine with sellers using the cheapest shipping method possible.  But they should be open about that and advertise it that way.  It would be nice to have the option for faster and more expensive shipping options, but not required.  I'm not a fan of sellers advertising a faster shipping method, but using a cheaper method.

I think it's fair to at least message them about it and see if they are willing to work with you.  If they want to work with you, that's great.  If they don't, I wouldn't do business with them again.  I don't think it's worth going to war over.

I was gonna ask for like a 5% refund on each. I mean even if they were listed as being shipped ground advantage it wouldn’t have stopped me from buying them but it’s still sort of false advertising. Had they come on time I wouldn’t care either but it’s sort of annoying

  11. Let me get your opinion:

I ordered two things off eBay last week and both came with free shipping. In the listing shipping service is defined as USPS Priority Mail but when both items were shipped (from different sellers) both used Ground Advantage which is a cheaper service that takes longer. Both packages are now past there expected delivery dates and likely would have been here today or sooner with Priority mail.

Would you kick up a gripe with the sellers and ask for partial refunds for this? Both items were over $300 and boxed consoles.
