Definitely legit.

This is an NES Ultimate Set. Famicom doesn't count.
...but you have bootleg / translated Famicom games.
Tulpa clearly has a 72-pin version of Crisis Force sitting on his desk, so it totally counts.

Anyway, hopefully that clears some things up.
Filled in a lot of knowledge gaps for me, thank you very much for taking the time to write this up. I felt like a "like" wasn't enough of a reply.

My car has SiriusXM and I will say that the “rock the bells” channel is the shit.

I still think it's mostly just regular generational bias. Except for Miley Cyrus; she's just a freak show (especially that creepy tongue thing). *shudders*
Maybe I’m out of touch but since when is Hanna Montana in any way associated with hip hop?

Watch for them on Slick Deals. They will usually post a Brickseek link for you or you can just Google Brickseek Walmart Labo and find it. Check your ZIP. There are still a few $9 stragglers around me.
Don't go out of your way blindly following Brickseek though. You will be let down. Brickseek's numbers are frequently off, as well as the fact that employees can hold things in the back for themselves, etc. Which reminds me: if it's a really good deal, you probably shouldn't call the store. Slickdeals is full of stories of employees that get wind of the deals, snatch them up, then resell later.

You'll have a PM from me once I've double-checked your list.
Great guy to do business with -- this will be my 5th transaction with him me thinks.

That damn Jive Turkey award alluded me for years!
lol. All I did was brag about how I didn't have it during my "5 years on NA" thread and it appeared. No PM, no nothing. You were trying too hard.

I grew up sitting inches from the screen and I’m still 20/20.
My wife is severely near sighted from the same screen activity as a kid.
No idea what to believe, but my toddler gets 5 mins of screen time a day (YouTube peppa pig on a big flat screen) and that’s it.

The only Aldi I ever stepped foot in was in Hyattsville MD, and that was back in 2007 or so.
Reflecting on my experiences from 12 years go... it was in a terrible location (no fault of the store itself), as Hyattsville isn't a great place to be period. The selection of frozen food was excellent and I found many fatty guilty pleasures. However, the milk tasted off, and the produce was not fresh at all.
Also I never remembered to bring a quarter for the damn shopping cart so I was always angry.

Ah ok, misunderstood.

Mine varies by console (mainly, which one is easiest available):
7800: Food Fight 5200: Gremlins 2600: Kaboom! NES: Super Mario Bros. GB: Kirby's Pinball Land INTV: Happy Trails
As to "why", I guess mostly comfort factor and because I know exactly what to expect. These aren't necessarily my favorite on the respective consoles but they are up there. In most cases, these specific games stay in or next to said consoles.

Better question, who were you on NA? I recognize your avatar but I can't place it with the name.
Same username. He was the guy with like 1000 collection badges

Is it cheating if you use a cheat device or save-state to practice a certain level or boss, so that you're good at it when you get there in a legitimate run?
This just gave me dejavu of a very contentious older NA thread...

of people that actually signed up so far, likely just @Makar . Buncha slackers need to get on here already, I think my IRL list is up to 6 or so.

I was all set to run a Sega Master System one of these early this year. I assigned point values to all the US released games based on my experiences with them. I was going to post the thread after the Sega Master System weekly contest ended, but the lack of participation in that made me think it wouldn't get much attention. I wouldn't mind running it here if there's interest.
I'd also likely participate in a Genesis or PlayStation one. If a Genesis one is started, I'd like to see Sega CD and 32X games included as well.
I'd have a go at either SMS or Genesis contests -- I blinked and suddenly I have both systems and megadrives for both. Vast libraries I'm looking forward to exploring.

I've never played Excitebike! I'm so excited. I'm so scared.
I've played it many times over the years, and even read (and re-read) the manual. I just can't do it. Maybe this time it'll finally "click" for me.

Wicked, I've worked in IT for 15 years and lived almost my whole life on a computer - learned something new today!
It's great except when you've been happily using it for decades and new blood decides to do whatever the hell they want with that key in their applications. It's obnoxious when it doesn't work how/when you expect it to.

Nintendo Entertainment System Ultimate Set

No, the other 6 non US releases you added.
yes, there are hundreds of repro makers that could make you a 72 pin Lost Levels. But the fact remains that it was only released in Japan, on the Famicom, as a different title (until subsequent re releases on more modern consoles, but that opens up another can of worms).
like tulipa said: arbitrary. Just admit these are self serving lists and nobody can argue.
