Do you mind pointing them out? I would like to go back and double check out mine too. It would be helpful to know what to look for. I have a pic in the pickup thread from October 2019, but I didn’t take a pick of the top of the label.

    Pick up thread post

Oh boy ive started something here. Everyone, pull out your Hagane’s and lets make sure they are legit:)

i dont blame you!  Thats what me got wondering too someone had pointed out a few things. Cant remember them off the top of my head but I wasn’t going to take the chance of accidentally mis representing what i have

oh, btw for others, im selling this to build funds for other collections as im not really collecting for snes

Agreed that the label seems off.  Just held mine up against the screen and compared and there are subtle differences.  But then it was intentionally marked up to make it look aged?  Shady.

Yeah I’m afraid that might be the case    So since im not 100% sure im not going to take the chance and treat it as a replacement label. Hence why the price is nearly half

id be riddled with guilt to try to scam someone like that:(. My mistake that i made in the past, but hopefully someone may want it?

the board is legit and it plays nicely. So thats good

  3. So after careful studying and asking around im affraid my copy is legit but the label had been replaced. Dont get me wrong it looks good!  So with that said is anyone interested before i head to the ebays?

free shipping to the lower 48 states!

    few thoughts:

    - does WATA grade 32X games?

    - not all graded games will be guaranteed a profit. Nes sealed games is the only platform that seems to be consistent in the raised prices. Everything else seems to be random, scattered numbers.

    - there is a lot of pain, patience and headaches when sending games off for grading and the outcome upon their return. You need to ask “is it worth all the effort?” Maybe try sending a few items first to see if the effort is worthwhile?

Very helpful. Yes wata does grade 32x games and i found out they’d even grade my cutbox of spiderman. But as others have convinced me. Im going to just go down the cgs case route and call it good:). Maybe grade a few that are special down the road

You sure your stuff is that minty?  I mean nothing says next level collection like a wall full of 6’s 😛

Haha. I guess next level as in better preservation. Yeah some would grade 6-7 for sure at best. Probably not the best option. But at the time of writing this post i had completely forgot that cga offers the cases if I didn’t want to have a bunch of 6-7’s to stare at in tombs of carbinate like han solo

    • Do you care which grade they get? Anything not sealed will be unlikely to get over a 6 or 7 grade so if you only want 9.0 and above on display, don't bother.
    • Free tier? This isn't AWS, they don't have a free tier.
    • If Spiderman has a box, cut or not, they'll grade it. It'll probably grade a 1 out of 10 but it'll still grade.

Most would grade 6-7’s for sure two that i have would most certainly grade higher than that. I saw a pretty crappy graded wata spiderman on ebay that graded at 7 cib and most of mine are at least that condition if not better, but as others have said might be best to spend funds on perhaps a better spidy box if i ever find one:/

on wata’s aite their pricing chart shows a $0 option for like 170 days. Not sure how that even works to covering costs of grading and the cases

you’re probably right on the spiderman box i have. I believe ive heard they will garde any game as long as it fits one of their standard boxes. I cannot believe it would score higher than say a 3-4 due to the box. The manual and game are excellent condition, but that box i think would be a .5 or 1 if i was lucky

Also hold up if your Spiderman is cut into a rental case, spend the money on a Spiderman box upgrade!

This!  I may just do some nicer cases and no grading. Will save a ton of time and money that way. Also need to think about what my shelves would look like even with them in the acrylic cases that are non grade. They seem pretty low profile compaired to the graded wata ones. So may not be a big deal. Plus i can get them uv protection on them as i hear that the 32x boxes fade badly with any light

only problem i have these days with spidy is i just need the freaking box and no one sells that. Ill probably have to save up and buy the cib one off ebay some year and sell my other to make up the cost some

I'd just leave them as is. You could meet in the middle and get some acrylic display cases from VGA, but I think they are about $20 each.

That’s actually not a bad idea. I didn’t think about just buying their cases. I wouldn’t have to send them in for grading as some of them wouldn’t grade high anyhow especially just cib. The nicer cases would protect them better. Nice to have a grade but then knowing my personality it maybe best that i dont know the grade of some lol

    something to really consider here

  9. Hey guys, curious on everyone’s thoughts here. I know the ultimate answer is “do whatever makes you happy “. But just want some other point of views.

I have my sega 32x collection that i just finished a few days ago and i love it. They are all in the plastic game protectors that you typically see that fit them perfectly and allow them to show off their artwork well, but im wondering would it be best to get them graded and sealed for extra protection and that final level imo for the collection?

pros for it in my mind

1). Extra protection from the elements (also not a bad plan now that i have a son who i still haven’t gone through his teachable twos yet)

2). They get a grade. Kind of neat to see. Especially some of the cooler finds like kolibri and my pitfall having been bought played once it looks like and the original receipts left in the box from the 90’s. Other titles i may try to find a slightly better cib version before submitting

3). I do like the looks of the wata cases

4). In theory would raise their value

    some cons

1). Cant play them anymore, but thats what repros and emulation is all about. Even could get an everdrive

2). The cost to get them graded. Of course if i want to wait like two years or something i could do the free tier

3). Less real estate on the shelves for them. Right now they are nicely in order of value

4). The wait and worry. The waiting on them to get back and the worry of one getting lost or damaged. Especially since I couldn’t afford to do them all at once. Id have to do 1-2 at a time I believe

5). They may not even grade spiderman due to its box being cut and put in a claim shell. Ive got a question out to them about this and if they don’t that means id have that one game not graded while the others would be

    first world problems lol. Thoughts?

    thanks again,

  10. Wow guys!  Thanks for the charm!  Its fantastic. Im still going to try to find the 2 out of 3 non region ones and get darxide repro. I’ll be getting a copy of the rerelease of surgical strike too btw!  Also, when my nib system gets graded ill share it in the appropriate forum as well lol. But after that, i think ill move on to finishing my game gear collection

    @Glovesand @CasualCart  thank you guys

Mmmm it's possible that a charm might have been designed and maybe I didn't make the charm itself.

@CasualCart do you recall making one for 32x?

Bummer got all excited today thinking i’d get my first charm lol. Well if you need any help making one im sure i could do it. Just tell me the specifics for example size for the icon and format

thanks again, the charms are a nice touch!  Also, been meaning to ask and I don’t mean to offend when i do ask this but wow you’ve got a ton of charms are they legit (as in you have all those collection achievements) or showing the forum what are some possible charms people can get?

    1.  I would think standard if your sure it hasn't been opened. I don't believe they came sticker sealed but I am not positive on that. Best way to tell is to look at the opening taps and make sure there are no creases that would show its been opened if there are any creases then it would be qualified.

    2. I don't know on this. That's something I would ask them about I wouldn't think it would be a problem but am unsure.

    3. Only issue I had was my case got damaged in shipping back to me. I contacted VGA and they had me a new return label the same day and I believe I had the console back within a week from shipping it back. The CS was extremely helpful and had both labels done as next day delivery.

    4. Clear View is I believe the one that you see the most with the label on top. Ill attach a picture of what I think the classic view is. Its more the style you see on action figures which they do also so I'd guess that's why its an option.

    5. I'd say with Covid even if you pay for the quicker tier its still going to be delayed more than the 7-10 days

    6. When I did mine it was when that bundle had just came out and there weren't any sales either so I just ballparked it on the higher side. So a new 32x is around $300 so I'd say at least 4-5 times that to be safe.

    7. I'm not sure on this I didn't get any of those. I know with the summary is will let you know the problems and why it got the grade it did so if that would be something your interested in then I'd say yes. If you don't care about that then no

    8. I'd be more worried about the post office taking forever to deliver or losing in transit than I would be with VGA. They deal with millions of dollars in collectables probably daily and I haven't heard of a lost item from them yet. If you do decide to submit it I would definitely ship through UPS over USPS

    s-l300.jpg

Thanks again for your help. I pulled the trigger and shipped it off today!  I saw on their website they said for receiving and invoicing expect 3+ weeks. So im guessing my turn around will be 3+ weeks and then the 7-10 days. So would it be safe to say end of February or beginning of March i may get a shipped notification from them

i went ahead and removed that beautiful shrink wrap just to be safe. I couldn’t get a hold of anybody to confirm if it was ok, so i wanted to be safe than sorry

also, I noticed a checkbox on the forum that said if they believe that my submission doesn’t meet the “standard “ category that its ok for them to try to grade it in the “qualified” category. So i went ahead and checked that box. I think that any system that doesn’t have a seal or tape seal they’ll automatically put it in that category (even though the sega 32x consoles never shipped with seals). Which is unfortunate as id rather them not open a box that has never been opened. Now i did make a note on the form for them to consider the tabs and how they haven’t been moved before just automatically grading it as qualified

ultimately, ill be happy to have it returned graded in one category or another. Im hoping for a silver grade but there were some blemishes (very light) on the surface. So no telling what it will grade at
