  1. No, I didn't know about that, but just saw a clip on Youtube and it looks really cute. Thanks! TIL. Btw. I completed Wrath of the Black Manta.
  2. Thundercade is done. It's a tough game, but I really enjoy it.
  3. Btw. @scaryice, if my memory serves me right, I had 311 points before completing Dungeon Magic. So I think I should be at 328 points.
  4. BreakThru and Mickey's Safari in Numberland on super advanced are done.
  5. I did Fisher Price: Firehouse Rescue on all four levels.
  6. Finally done with Dungeon Magic! For a whopping 17 points. Crazy. Time to play some shorter games again.
  7. I did a quick round of Rollerball until the credits rolled. I had 1.7 million points this time.
  8. I made a bit of progress on Dungoen Magic. I now have 4 out of 5 magic elements and am slowly entering the endgame. However, now it gets fairly difficult and grindy, so it will take some more time, maybe a few days.
  9. I wasn't so sure, if it was okay to barge into this thread like that since you're so close to beating the entire US library. Really incredible. But I did try my hands at R-Type late last decembre before the NES challenge started and I got absolutely wrecked. The fact that a difficult game such as R-Type only has limited conintues is insane. And even if I were to make it to the final boss legimately, it seems near impossible without the two options that protect you from enemies coming at you from above and below. And since this option power-up is so rare, you basically have to beat the game on a single life, which es equally insane. Level 4 or 5 is where I usually get my first death. And even on the very few occassions that I made it past these without dying, I still ended up dying in level 6, which is where the game starts to get pretty insane. At this point it's pretty much just an endless death loop. I haven't tried it since. Much respect to whoever can beat these crazy difficult shmups. But you've been killing it so far, so you'll probably clear this one as well.
  10. I made a little bit of progress on Dungeon Magic. I have acquired two of the five elemental swords and can now finally use fairy magic which allows me to call up a map among others. Very convenient, because navigation through the dungeons can be tricky and without it I got lost a bunch of times. At the beginning of the game you can chose which of the five magic elements you want to start with and the last time that I played this game I chose fairy magic exactly because of the convenience. However, back then I realized that the mid to late game got pretty difficult since I didn't have good offensive or defensive magic. But this time I chose water magic, which lets you create shields that lower damage from physical or magic attacks or even both. So while my shields are active, I'm pretty much immune against physical from the monsters at the beginning of the game. That being said, magic users are still extremely dangerous and can kill me with a few spells. So I have to be careful. I'll continue in the next days by grinding a few levels, buying better equipment and then taking on the next dungeons. BUt I still have quite a bit of work left to do so I can't play as much as I would want.
  11. I haven't done much progress on my backlog yet, because I'm still busy with the NES completions challenge. So far I've beaten 44 games, including some real "classics" like The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle, Blues Brothers, Wayne's World, Total Recall, The Last Ninja, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, Home Alone 2 and Dragon's Lair, which was easily the hardest of them all. Some actually fun games that I've beaten are the two Flintstones games, Toki, Twin Cobra, Thunderbirds, Sky Shark, Rad Racer II and Hydlide, which I would consider to be a guilty pleasure of mine. I know that it's bad, but somehow I still like it. I'll be clearing some more NES game in the upcoming days and weeks. Maybe this year we can beat the full library. We also have some legit great titles that are still up for grabs, like Blaster Master, Bucky O'Hare, Castlevania I and II, Double Dragon II, Dragon Warrior I-IV, Excitebike, Final Fantasy, Guardian Legend, Life Force, Metroid, R.C. Pro-Am, StarTropics, Super C, Tecmo Bowl, Tiny Toon Adventures 1 and 2 and Zelda II. There are others, that I'm forgetting, but there's still plenty of great titles if anyone here happens to be interested. I'm playing bad and/or unpopular titles on purpose, so that there are more good titles left for others. Although I needed just a few legit fun games to recover from some of the bad ones. Dragon's Lair was especially grueling due to its difficulty.
  12. No right answer yet. Here's the full screenshot. It's part of the US NES library.
  13. I've heard lots of good things about this game and would like to try it out at some point, but the high difficulty is exactly what turns me off from this game and why I constantly keep postponing playing this game.
  14. Times of Lore is done. The next big game I would like to tackle is Dungeon Magic, if no one's already playing it.
  15. No. I will post the full screenshot tomorrow, if that's okay. Or should I post it directly?
  16. No correct guess so far. But it's an NES game.
  17. Man, I was at the last level of Rad Racer II and wanted to continue after a game over, but I accidentally pressed start instead of start + A, so I have to restart from level 1 again. This sucks. I'll continue tomorrow unless someone beats it in the meantime.
