  3. Anyone know how to get ahold of this? Says they'll only ship to Japan
  4. Yep, all of these oasis releases are like that. Theyre not chiptune at all, its more about the visuals and aethetic physicality of the experience. A handful of music carts already just play PCM audio through the console (zao, a winner is you, hyperdub, etc), effectively working like an mp3 player. But, the experience can still be uniquely rich and enjoyable. My favorite example of this is the Note! Sega CD album. The visuals and interface are so compelling it feels like they're somehow playing a concert inside of the console itself.
  5. https://oasisltd.bandcamp.com/album/the-hidden-temple-of-wuhu-island 256MB(!!)-- might be a new record for a music cart Also they mentioned they're working on N64 carts for early next year but aren't totally sure they'll work out. Geez now I gotta track down an HDMI-modded N64 how the heck am I gonna find that? Also I'm drinking after a long week and the booze is definitely working happy Friday!
  6. @Scrobins https://oasisltd.bandcamp.com/album/dissipated-skies 9 remaining, hope you can catch one
  7. Tonight, by hilarious coincidence, my sister-in-law showed me some recent emails from her years-ago ex-boyfriend who still pesters her. They are, no exaggeration, tens of thousands of words long and they all end EXACTLY like this. "This is the last message I will ever send, oh except for this one, and oh just one more, oh but this ones really the final message..." ...Aaron, is that you?
  8. Buyer and seller enter a smoke-filled room through the back alley. One begins furiously checking the games for fakes, the other inspects the briefcases filled with stacks of unmarked bills. They're both nervous, wondering if they'll need to have a 'hard conversation', unsure if they'd come out on top. Suddenly, a man bursts through the door. "Pizza delivery!" he says, smiling wryly. "One pie with... extra sausage". Buyer and seller briefly exchange worried glances, then swivel their gaze toward the delivery man. "But we didn't order that..." the buyer says, trembling, "...how're we gonna pay for it?" All three realize in unison: they're about to have that hard conversation after all.
  9. A few new carts for preorder, from the folks behind Dimeo's Jukebox. Including 4 GBA music carts: https://www.tgvirtual.com/

  11. I was updating my own have/want list of oasisltd carts and I figured I may as well list the ones I see missing from the almanac. Its quite a time-sink keeping up with those oasis releases so I hope this helps Release I by Lin Lin and the Symphony of Tears (https://oasisltd.bandcamp.com/album/release-i) N64 LOVE SONGS by MAGICK FLAVOUR STATION (https://oasisltd.bandcamp.com/album/n64-love-songs) Spaceship Earth by Whitewoods (https://oasisltd.bandcamp.com/album/spaceship-earth) Hidden EP by mingkurray (https://oasisltd.bandcamp.com/album/hidden-ep) Tome of the Forbidden Land by H A R U S P E X (https://oasisltd.bandcamp.com/album/tome-of-the-forbidden-land) Linear EP by NMBUS x Be Careful (https://oasisltd.bandcamp.com/album/linear-ep)
  12. Another Oasisltd cart just dropped btw: https://oasisltd.bandcamp.com/album/anemoia-garden?from=fanpub_fb
  13. https://kinggizzardandthelizardwizard.com/bootlegger FYI to anyone who didnt know, that band actively encourages folks to make novel album versions and sell them for their own profit. There seems to be a bit of a subculture around creating versions for increasingly wacky old formats, which I guess is why we get these chiptune versions.
  14. @Scrobins Oasisltd preorder just opened for a GBA cart "FREEDOM". They're really makin it rain lately!
  15. Apparently 10 more Startides are coming back in stock at noon today (20 minutes from now). Get 'em while they're hot
  16. New Oasisltd GBA cart just dropped: https://oasisltd.bandcamp.com/album/s-s?from=fanpub_fb "Startide Realms" by ASVMR Seems to me like they've got GBA video cart production smoothed-out and they're going to be accelerating releases. Here's hoping they rerelease some that we missed
  17. I emailed the author of the Mikeyeldey album to compliment him and thank him, and he told me he's working on another one to come out in 21/22. He shared a couple screenshots. It appeared to be titled Mikeyeldey95 (has a cool looking win95 theme) edit: it's for sega genesis
  18. Heads up, "mikeyeldey: the album" on a genesis cart: https://mikeyeldey.bandcamp.com/
  19. Looks like Alwas Awakening is in development for an NES version: https://eldenpixels.com/alwas-awakening-nes/
  20. Looks like Remute's got another album on the way, on PCE / Turbografix16: https://remute.bandcamp.com/album/electronic-lifestyle
  21. Got around to opening my PLTC today and I can say it is totally awesome! The cart had an issue, the board doesnt seem to seat properly inside of it. So I put the board alone into an fc-to-nes converter and it works great. Using the board alone contributes to the aesthetic. The irreverent booklet, weird box art, bare board, totally bizarre game concept and trippy music all mesh together really well!
  22. to anyone looking deep in this thread, looks like Anamanaguchi's Dawn Metropolis and Power Supply are available again in a reissue (with new colors): https://shop.anamanaguchi.com/collections/music Here's hoping they reissue Endless Fantasy one of these days!
  23. Thanks! And no, I'm afraid to even attempt to play 8-Bit Music Power because of the notoriously bad hardware inside. This guy said it actually killed his famicom console: https://www.famicomworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=12633.15 If I look at the bottom of mine I can see a bit of white wire looping out and back into the casing right next to the PCB. It's super sketchy. The root issue seems to be the use of chips rated below the voltage used by the console. There are some folks here (https://forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=13857) who have modded their carts to play and there are pics of how to do it, if you're so inclined. It looks like just adding two components and a bit of wire. But it doesn't really fix the underlying issue and I don't feel comfortable risking my original childhood nintendo. So I've only played that one through a flashcart. The hardware issue is really a shame because I think it's one of the best music carts I've gotten hold of.
