  1. Well, if anyone missed out on the Zelda that sold yesterday. Here is another shot up for sale in my pic below
  2. Well some eye popping realized prices especially for that Zelda no-REV sealed game. Holy cow, I didn't expect it to be that much!!! As I alluded to previously, the games that are in higher grade and really tough to find will command premium prices. Still there may be some games that underperformed. I haven't looked in depth but I can see that the Adventure Island 9.8 sold for way below its last sale price.
  3. Ya it's a pain in the you know what. I've called them several times and spoke to someone who oversees the grading there. I was hoping for a PSA 9, but it graded out an 8.5 which is ok.. A PSA 9 is probably worth a few more thousands thou. After all the few phone calls and emails back and forth, they managed to arrangement a settlement with me even though they didn't find any evidence that one of their graders scratched my card (I provided pictures of the foil before it was shipped out). All is good now but I will never ever again do a min grade. I've heard a few people who have experienced what we went through and PSA for some reason does not acknowledge it. I even sent them a couple of public forum chat threads where people complained about it too. I really hope they start putting some cameras where the graders do their grading and removing each card from the savers.
  4. Having been in the comic book collecting hobby for over 20 years and 10 years in sports cards, I can say without a doubt that CGC is the leader in comic book grading over CBCS, PGX (very shady grading company, if it is even a company at that!), and some other smaller grading company I forgot the name of. I don't think that will ever change. Would be interesting to see with the new owners of CCG (Blackstone) will do with this business. As for cards/TCG PSA is definitely the leader, but not perfect. I submitted a TCG Pokemon card to them for grading under a minimum grade and when I received the card back because it didn't receive the desired min. grade I placed, I found out that the holofoil part has some scratches partly because they didn't put my card in a penny sleeve, just in a rigged card saver. Could also be mishandled when the graded removed it from the penny sleeve and card saver which I originally shipped my card in. I do prefer the BGS slab because it's thicker and I feel the card has more protection than the thinner PSA slabs. Also, I like the subgrades on the label which PSA doesn't have. Now, let's see how this new grading company will design their holder for their video games. Can't wait to see how it unfolds.
  5. I know for comic books they do have a census on comics graded. Not sure about coins, but I'm guessing there is one since they are all under one umbrella in CCG. I kinda had a hunch they would be involved in video grading too since they just brought card grading into their business model.
  6. Looks like there will be a new competitor coming in the video game grading world: https://www.cgccomics.com/news/article/9052/video-game-grader/
  7. Let's take for instance Adventure Island WATA 9.8. First one that caught my eye and one of the first to be sold soon since it's in alphabetical order starting with "A." The last one (might be this same one) sold on Heritgae just this year April for $16,800. Currently, the game is sitting at around $2200 lol. I'd expect with just 3 days left, the bidding should be within around that 50% threshold of what it sold for previously if it were to match or come close to that price. I'm thinking now either the previous sale price was an outlier/possibly considered overpriced or this one would be sold at a bargain price. It also appears that most bidders are more focused on the sole "highest graded" games seeing that the bids they currently have are eye popping. I dunno, we'll see but I'm still predicting that there will be a lot more bargain priced games to be had in this auction than in any other Heritage auction.
  8. The signature video game auction is ending in a few a days. Just going through current prices on some, I see a bunch of games sitting pretty cheap compared to what they sold for previously. I guess most of the action takes place during the live auction itself? Hoping I can maybe win a game or two for a good price
  9. I don't know how I feel about that. I also collect sports cards and comic books and both PSA and CGC have their own census numbers out. I don't think it hurts the market, but it would bring into perspective whether that particular item in said grade is considered rare or common. I'm also interested in knowing the highest graded copy too and if there are multiples in that high grade from a collector standpoint. Yeah, the census numbers can somewhat be manipulated due to the crack and re-sub approach, but with CGC for example, if you submit the cracked label back to them, they deduct it from their census numbers.
  10. Does anyone know if WATA has census numbers on the grades given for a particular game? Or is there a website that shows this info?
  11. Yup! I just received grades for my Speed Run tiered games last night (3/16). No updates yet for the ones in the Turbo Tier. So it seems that the Speed Run is around a month TAT. Oh and I am quite pleased with the grades
  12. I just shipped off 11 games to get graded by WATA with the Turbo and Speed Run service levels. Also included in that package are two games for cross-over grading (I wish they had an option for that on their online submission but I guess not). We'll see how long this will take. Yeah, I really wish they would charge the grading amount until they are ready to ship not as soon as you create and finalize your submission order... Hopefully they can change that at some point. Off topic, let's just say WATA found out that a game that was submitted is resealed. Do they still charge the submission amount anyways or do they credit you back whatever submission tier you paid for since they are not encapsulating the game? Curious to see if anyone has experienced this. Thanks.
  13. Thanks for posting the two graded variations. I find it interesting that they both are considered to be authentic seals
  14. Hello, So I have a couple questions regarding this particular game for those who know. I've noticed that there are two maybe two different kinds of factory seal for the game. One horizontal and the other vertical. Not sure if one or the other could possible be a re-seal, but is this accurate that there are two different versions? I've only seen the horizontal seal professionally graded but have not seen the vertical one. My second question is regarding the contents inside. I recently bought a sealed version and noticed that everything inside the box is sliding back and forth, up and down as if something inside is missing. Is this normal for sealed GBC games? I can certainly provide pictures if needed (I do have the vertical seal version btw). I'm new to collecting Gameboy sealed games so any help would be great. Thanks and hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving coming up!
  15. If you have premium consignments, you can negotiate the fees with Heritage
  16. Nope. I thought majority went for higher than what I'm comfortable at paying.
  17. That's true too. In that sense, anyone can just steal pictures and info from a high valued item that was sold previously and list it up on ebay for a crazy high price like the one we see with the MM game to create more traffic for their listings. But yeah, anything high value like this, ebay is not the venue to sell.
  18. Anyone else noticed the sealed Dr. Wright MM game that sold on ebay a couple month ago for over $35k? I think that it would grade around the same as this Carolina copy, which means if and when that happens, this Carolina copy will not be the single highest graded copy and therefore would affect its value over the short and long term. The Pedigree status does help, but its uniqueness in being the sole highest graded status is gone. Yes, the owner(s) of the Carolina copy obviously wants to make a huge profit but I'm sure he/they are well aware of the ebay copy. Who knows if there are other high graded copies out there that have not seen the light of day. There will be speculators and investors in just about every collectible market. I've been a vintage comic book collector for more than a decade and I have seen prices for key books exponentially rise in price throughout the years until around 2018, but has stabilized and dipped a bit from those highs around 2019 and until now. It's just a part of any hobby. Some people don't mind it, others hate it. Just got to either live with it or get out of it completely.
  19. Thats a cool white bullet PO with Tyson's signature, congrats! Question, how did PSA/DNA authenticate the signature? Was it sent there first before being sent to WATA?
  20. Thanks @0xDEAFC0DE for the description and pictures. There is so much going on and what to look for that it makes it difficult to know for sure which edition one has. Even if say someone knows almost everything about all NES CIB editions, it would be difficult to remember all the guidelines when it comes to buying pieces. Maybe he/she would forget to check that one part of the manual and then realize later on that it is not what they intended to purchase after looking over it again. This is the fear of a collector where they have to be detailed oriented and double check everything well.
  21. Hey guys. Need your help. Is this considered to be a first edition because of the "TM" on the front cover of the manual or does one need to also look at the inside first page to find out? Thanks!
  22. Yeah, I should've asked for more pictures on the item but decided to jump on it before someone else does while waiting for the pictures. I was trusting the seller due to his high feedback, guess it didn't work. Cool you still play your vintage games. I stick to more modern games now when playing :). But yea I will get better at learning how to grade sealed games and other things associated with vintage game collecting. Just continuing to learn and educating myself.
  23. I think it was unlikely that the game was damaged during transit because the seller did not say anything back to me after I pointed out about the creases. I showed him the same pictures I posted on here and he was fine about me returning the game.
