  1. I don't do Pokemon but have been casually aware of this because of all of the hype.  The only info I can add that wasn't in the article:

The prior owner Shyne on IG did refund the $3.5M to Logan Paul.  I don't believe he has been refunded for the $2.7M purchase though, and his legal team was supposed to be on it.

Shyne is also the guy who bought the $400k Sonic on Goldin last year so I'm sure he's loaded.

I feel like someone is going to be upset when they get this "mint" copy back from WATA next year and it grades 8.5.  I mean, it is a pretty tough game to find CIB (or NIB, of course), but I've never won an eBay auction (for a video game) where the 3rd bidder was $1,500 less than me and felt good about it...

It's clearly not Mint but I think it could have a shot at 9.0 or 9.2 (if lucky) and there isn't much hidden damage.  It looked way nicer than the Ice Nine he had though.  I think I sniped around $750 and expected it go to about $1500 or so. $2370 is a strong sale price yes but not absurdly out of this world or anything.

  3. RIP, that Christmas special that just aired will be immortalized forever.  First Madden game I got into as a kid was Madden NFL 94 on Genesis and that set me down the path of collecting lots of cool Madden stuff over the years.

  4. So, everyone doing okay?  I know this is anecdotal, but this spike is the most significant I've seen.  It doesn't matter what the politics or news say, it's clear this new strain is much more transmissable but seems to be lower impact thankfully.  It also appears that the vaccine is doing nothing, though they won't come out and say it.  It's funny how your view spins it... if you're pro-vaccine then you credit the vaccine for your recovery, even though you got infected (which I thought wasn't supposed to happen).  If you're anti-vaccine then you criticize it for not doing anything.

    Things I've noticed personally:

Our kids are in elementary school and last week it was deemed high risk by the state.  We used to get about 1 to 2 COVID nofications a week (they are required to email when someone in the school tests positive), but last week it was 5 on Monday, 4 Tuesday and 3 Wed.  We kept them home this week but state of MD deems a school high risk if 3 separate cohorts of students contract the virus.

Sports leagues, it's clearly destroying them.  Teams aren't even able to field enough to play.  And you know the vast majority of them are vaccinated, which isn't stopping the spread.

Last, wife's friend was in a wedding last week and nearly everyone got it.  I was in a wedding on Nov 13th and no one got it (125ish guests), but that was crazy.  She has it, her husband, her sister, her parents, her grandparents, her cousins, etc.  And her grandparents were both double boosted due to age and health issues, you just pray and hope they're safe.

Just be very conscious and safe out there this holiday season!

Roundball seems like it's actually uncommon though. It was a late release sports game which means it probably didn't sell many copies and no one cares about it. Either that or people have multiple copies buried in their collection and just assume it's not worth listing.

Definitely not worth $1,000 though. Not even close.

Yeah Roundball is tougher than people think.  Feels like that should be a minimum $250 game in halfway decent shape, but before this pop report nonsense you probably couldn't have even sold for $150.

It seems the tracking order I received was only for the resealed game they're sending back to me. The rest of my orders are still there.

They return recases super fast (sometimes next day or same week) and reseals faster too (1-2 month), but speedruns are 6+ months for everyone right now period.  Probably accruing by the day and closer to 7-8 months on stuff just now sent.

IDK, still seems kinda low to me. The last one was a 9.8 A++ for like 220k i think, so ~5x less for a 9.6 A++?

I was a buyer at <20k, too bad it didn't even come close to that 🤣

There are also Mario NES's like almost every week that sell for pretty high. This one just feels a lot more "special", you don't really see them in such a high grade (talking bout the standard edition here). Plus OOT is the greatest game of all time *runs*

I'm an N64 fan and OOT CE was actually the first game I ever graded myself, probably back in 2010 (85+ through VGA).  Before this Wata hype it was always CE or bust, it's called collector's edition for a reason.  I think those prices are extremely strong on the non-CE version.  If the non CE is rarer in Mint graded shape it can probably track close to CE prices at best, it should never leap frog.

Same thing with Majora's Mask, except that non CE is actually quite rare compared to CE.  Those are very similar boxes without the CE text on one, otherwise identical.  That's the case where pops could give the non-CE a price bump perhaps, but that one is much more scarce relative to the CE supply.

i would be pretty pissed if i cosigned this and they decided to put it in a random ass weekly

Did pretty well I'd say, maybe was one of @ExplodedHamster under copies?  It's not the first time they've had high stuff in weeklies, they had a Castlevania go for $38k back in March on a Tuesday.  More recently was the GI Joe American Hero NES at $20k on the Tuesday directly after the signature.  That game had signature written all over it and should have bumped almost anything from the Halloween auction.

Lovely! May be my next target.

Do you happen to know if they grade GBA games stricter than N64 games?
I literally can't spot anything besides one little corner ding (not even a crease) whereas the N64 Golf has a slight corner crease (and is higher grade).

A 9.4 can have a crease like you describe. For a game to get a 9.2 like the GBA title then there is something significantly damaged somewhere. You're missing something or the case is masking a side bulge.

There are a couple titles like this. RC Pro-Am oval seal is a tough one to find too but the round seals are everywhere.

And though the pop report doesn't show it, I think there may be an oval seal Double Dribble out there. Maybe not, but for some reason I think I've seen one before, maybe on a cartridge, though I could be mistaken.

Contra has an oval seal cart but no oval seal box.  I'm not familiar with DD enough but that could be the case there.

Okay, who is hoarding all the Terminator NES games?? In two years of searching on ebay, all I can find is one seller with a used Walmart copy trying to pass off as new.

    NES Pop report.jpg

I have the highest graded at 9.4 A+ on there.  On T2 I had to go with an SNES Judgment Day copy which is also 9.4 A+ and not easy to find.

You are the expert when it comes to NA. You are the expert when it comes to collecting.

When it comes to marketing, endorser obligations. I am an expert. And on top of that, I've spoken with lawyers about it and done a lot of research. When it comes to my analysis on the legality of Wata and Heritage's actions I'm very confident. I'm happy to concede any less important point (i.e What NA was) because ultimately I don't really care about that. I brought it up in the video because I believe that Jeff was lying, and it was just to point that out.

Roger that, I'll concede you are more of an expert than me in the conflict of interest arena, but you aren't a full legal expert or you wouldn't have had to bring in an outside source.

She also uses extremely soft language in her responses, indicating that the probable cause is there to potentially raise legality disputes, but ultimately a judge could preside either way and the outcome is not predetermined.

I do believe your bias is clouding your judgement here. You completely overlook all of the obvious illegal activity and try to scrape the barrel of potential small inconsistencies with what I'm saying. Totally ignoring the point of the video. But I'll address some of these things.

    1) Kahn did imply the value of the was in the millions. On pawn stars he did not value the game at $300, he said there were turned down offers of that much (implying the value is higher) and the value 'had no ceiling'. Besides this, what he did was illegal. But in your eyes for some reason the exact dollar amount he put on it is more important than the deceptive marketing.

    2) Other users and contributors to NA disagree with you. NA was set up as a database. The forum evolved and grew over time. It seems you have more issue with my lack of expertise rather than Meyer's obvious lies about what NA was.

    3) I emailed Jeff a couple of weeks ago to try and meet up. He was on holiday all week and by the time he was available it was too late. I did make an effort to catch up. My effort was late, but it was there and we would have caught up if he was available. I can't 'solve' anything. I am not the FTC, or the SEC. What I am supposed to 'solve' in your opinion? It's not my responsibility, nor my duty to solve anything. I'm calling out illegal and unethical practices. Jeff talking to me now does nothing to undo any federal regulation breaches that happened in the past.

    4) Heritage and Wata had an agreement upon Wata's launch. Whatever you're talking about in regards to Wata 'capitalising' on anything has no bearing. Heritage aligned with a grading company that had no history, or track record of grading games in the market. And Halperin was an investor, and that relationship was never disclosed. I just don't believe your story. Even if your rationalising were true (which is could be), I believe Wata would need experience in the industry to prove that the product was good over extensive testing in the actual market before its credibility could be established.

You accuse me of just making targeted accusations, which is true because obviously I care about the illegal practices of these companies. But on the flipside, you don't seem to care at all about that, and just want to defend them over irrelevant, minute details.

I appreciate the response at least.  Let me clarify I'm not giving them a free pass or anything, I'm just not a lawyer and not qualified to speak on any of that.  But on the flipside, when you use fallacies in your logic or borderline lies, then that seems to be slander and libel, which civil lawyers could go after.  I'm all about transparency and facts, not as much about speculative rambling.  I appreciate factual points you have made, not so much the opinionated interjections.

Don't want to go tit for tat with you, so just a couple minor comments.  I had 25,000+ posts at NA and 1,000+ transactions, was easily in the top 5 on each category and a part of me died when that website went down.  Other than other mods or Dain himself, losing that site affected me as bad as anyone.  So yes, please forgive me when some youtuber waltzes in and tells me what that site was meant to me.

Personal opinion, if you want to get to the bottom of something then you delay a video until you have spoken to the proper parties.  Not take a paycheck from a sponsor to meet a deadline.  Again, if you want to get some real informed opinions on something, talk to the people who are plugged in.  You seem dismissive of the points I have made, but to each their own and your bias is clouding your judgement as well.  I do admit that have bias from being involved in graded games, yet I collect VGA and Wata both (so I am not affiliated with one company), and I've been doing this for 13+ years with roots in ungraded collecting.  So I'm certainly not as biased as someone who only does graded, someone who only does Wata, or someone who just showed up in the last 2 years with no recollection of times past.
