  1. Yeah Tater did strong, especially without poster, but it always should have been $5k plus.  I only won one game from that seller, she benefited from the typical ebay phenomenon of like items at open auction always selling higher than they expected.

I will say that I grabbed a CIB Tater with poster not too long ago, maybe 4 months that went up on eBay at either $2499 or $2999 BIN and no one wanted it in the first 12 hours.  I knew the seller as a former NA member and he was cool with a direct payment so it worked out for both of us thankfully.

  2. There was a Rifle that popped up on ebay the other day, seller said he pulled it for a 3k offer (figured at least 5-7.5k) IMO.

I have 2 rifles, 4 carts (2x BRM, 1 MACS, 1 MTS) and an original TV (that is just Panasonic if I recall).  The Moving Target Simulator is by far the rarest cart in the SNES library and they just aren't out there.  BRM or MACS used to hover in the $2k-$2.5k range as a cart but they've been there a long time and are due for a bump.  MTS doesn't have enough sales date to have a known price.

Most people don't require them for the set but they are definitely cool!

  3. I struck out most of Tuesday night, only one win.  I did win several PS1 last night to make up for it though.  Very odd, I thought most of the NES / SNES / N64 hammer prices were stronger than my expectations, but then PS1 was flatter and I won more than expected.  Maybe people spent too much the night before.

The Switch 100 sales are ludicrious and first to market advantage of course.  I'm sure rarebucky is happy with the results!

okay someone needs to be THAT GUY here even if that guy is clearly a jerk

landmark games in nintendo franchises selling for 6 figures is still totally absurd but that would be one thing

madden though? football fans, some of whom are gamers, may care about Madden, but the gaming community in general hasn't even pretended to care in like 15 years.

If you wanted proof that the new collectors aren't "real gamers" you're never gonna find anything better than them thinking NO REALLY GUYS MADDEN IS A TOP TIER FRANCHISE. seriously?

I'm a Madden collector and have been for well over a decade.  Have the only confirmed NES prototype, many high grade sealed games of his as well.  It's always been more niche than Mario / Zelda, but there's been Madden collectors around.  One was JD Heins (RIP), old NA speedrunner and Madden collector.  Another was busdriverj (sp?) who just did CIB but he got all the releases I believe.

The commons CIBs have always been cheap but finding nice high grade sealed copies was never easy.  Sure you had to spend $100s instead of $1000s ($10s of thousands now?) but there was still some demand there.

  5. I'm a huge Madden fan and of course that got a huge RIP Madden boost, first to market advantage.  All Madden games have been up (both in price and demand) since his death, but you aren't replicating those type of sales outside of HA.

I'm curious what a nice Genesis Madden CE will go for now.  That went for $50k last year and people were shocked, but I knew it would be at least $20+.  That's gotta be a 6 figure game easily now as well.

  6. I had some orders return ship yesterday and they now include the actual serial numbers in the email that are coming back to you, no more guess.  Big improvement, especially for those of us with tons of orders where it was very difficult to figure out exactly which games from which order were coming back.  It is very rare for me to get an entire order back in one box any more, most return shipments are partial orders.

Going over each photo from the listing OP provided, I was able to spot multiple imperfections. Which I highlighted in the photos. Its not perfect as OP suggested. Still a nice copy to own, if you can get it at the right price lol.

Nothing on ebay is ever perfect, but that's about as nice as you can get buying ebay raw ungraded.  You're also missing all of the obvious dust / etc on the seal, if there's any debris under the seal then that is a box flaw on grading.  That hole your circled in picture 3 isn't a flaw either, that's a vent hole and normal.

Right, says the guy that was quick to message me about buying it, then backed off after I said I didn't know the value but would consider selling it.

From my end of it, here are the facts:

#1:  I bought this game at a prominent toy shop that was in the city since the Atari days.

#2:  None of the other games the shop had were sealed.

#3: The shrink-wrap used on this one is the same style as legit shrink-wrap, it's not the hard crinkly kind that the local shops would use if shrinking games.

#4: Considering bootlegs and Japanese games were never even shrink-wrapped, why bother shrinking this one particular game, only, and then seek out a proper style shrink-wrap to go with?

#5: It definitely wasn't resealed to trick folks into thinking it was new, considering where it came from, that would be nuts.

Finally though, here is the piece of evidence that confirms to me that this is a legit sealed copy, and it's sort of the smoking gun. Those that think it isn't legit (Jone even said he wasn't sure either way in our DMs) better come up with evidence as to why this isn't legit, as being legit seems to be much more in the realm of realism, given the following:

Electronic Arts did their manufacturing of Sega games in Taiwan, and they also sold their USA games in Taiwan. This is fact, 100%.

So that's how and why the game got here, it went from company to local shop for sale, brand spankin' new. That's why only this game was sealed, of all the possible titles that could have been "resealed", that's why the shrink-wrap doesn't match the kind that the local shopkeepers would use, etc.

So if Jone feels that this is a reseal, I want hard, concrete evidence, otherwise he shouldn't be spouting off nonsense, especially when potentially large amounts of money are in play.

First off, don't give me that shit attitude like you do everyone else.  I don't give opinions on real vs. fake anymore because I get tired of giving free advice when people don't appreciate or then want to argue about it (like this).

I went thru our PMs, looks like in July 2020 I said hey I'm interested, you said you had no idea on value, then I responded I went back through the pictures and couldn't authenticate it as real so I'd pass.  I'm one of the biggest sealed Madden collectors around so the fact that I wasn't willing to make an offer should say something.  I only have this game sealed clamshell, not cardboard.

Regardless, the Wata one sold was a V-overlap seam and finally a legit one sold on eBay after his death.  This is what a cardboard style seal should look like, yours is neither.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/203756983260

So, while I don't think it is a factory seal as we'd expect in the USA, the good news for you is that Wata authenticates all sorts of non official seals sometimes (like the LJN copies that were weird, the SMB3 "export" seal which isn't V-Seam, etc.)  The lines on your boxes look like there's no color break at least, so perhaps wata could grade it as NS (No Seal) or name it as some distributor seal.  That seal wasn't done by the traditional factory sealing method though, that much is obvious.

End of day you'd now probably have to pay at least $10k to get it graded in declared value and worry about getting it across borders.  I told you to get it graded in July 2020 if you were serious about selling, waiting has only costed you thousands of dollars in the meantime.  You shit on grading plenty but now that it's convenient for you of course you'd be interested.

No more free advice here, I've said my piece and people can make their own conclusions.  I also barely check these forums once a day if that, so heaven forbid if I have better things to do than log in repeatedly to see what threads I need to respond to.

Finally got my booster on Wednesday and man did it kick my ass. 24 hours of crazy chills and aches. Kept me up all night shaking, no matter how many blankets or clothes I put on. Even got me to take a pill (advil) for the first time in years. I have never had a reaction like this to any shot, much less the first 2 Pfizer shots I had. Was about 100x worse than when I actually got Covid in late 2020.

That's about the actual description of having Covid for me too.  IT was 24 to 36 hours of intense hot (sweat beads) to cold (teeth chattering / goosebumps) and I hadn't really slept in 4 nights until last night.  First time in my life I took I sleep aid (3mg melatonin) and man I slept like a baby and feel great today.

The fact that you were vaccinated at one point isn't the only determinant of the magnitude of your reaction.

You could have been the primary person infected and gotten the largest viral load and then only mildly transferred to your family.

And again, the outcry should have been to have the world vaccinated so we reduce vaccine resistant variants.

I was the last person in the house to get it, our 7 year old brought it back from school I assume.  I was positive 4 days later. Nonetheless I'm just sharing my experience for people to reach their own conclusions.

  11. Don't get me wrong, if you don't want to die than the vaccine is your best solution.

That is entirely different from let's get the entire population vaccinated so covid is no longer a thing.

Point 2 is how it's been spun all along but that narrative needs to change to be vaccinated / get boosted every 6 months if you want to have the best chance of avoiding it entirely.  Otherwise it's about reducing your symptoms... even though I'm the only vaccinated person and have had it the "worst", which is relatively mild thankfully.  No sleep for 2 nights sucks though, feel more drained than anything else.

not to get too preachy here, but you admitted that your vaccine is out of date. Plus the virus has mutated. With the wide spread of the Omicron variant (which developed AFTER your vaccine was created), it's likely that's what you caught.

vaccines do help. but they are not some miracle cure or "get out of sick free" card.

But that's exactly the point, viruses mutate faster than vaccines, hence why the Flu shot has limited effectiveness.  I also know people first hand who have gotten it with boosters.

Again, the point is that the vaccine simply reduces your risk posture and does not prevent it at all. And again, my unvaccined wife took it better than I have thus far.  So many variables here and the vaccine is not as good as the Government leads you to believe. Mandates make zero sense if you can still catch it and spread it anyway!  Someone is mandated to get it and then contagious 48 hours before symptoms onset, perfect for spreading it like wildfire.

The mandate is about protecting others, which it isn't as effective as believed.  We'll be on a new variant by summer likely.

  13. I haven't noticed any difference compared to other outlets like ebay / forums / social media.  Probably 5-10% of the population is flakey in some sense, either playing games in negotations, giving you a cold shoulder or misrepresenting items for sale.  Sometimes misrepresentation is from ignorance rather than maliciousness, but it can still affect the value of the item you're buying.

  14. Covid check in here, 7 year old postive Friday, a day or two of low energy but quick recovery (still in quarantine). Wife tested positive Sunday, pretty much a solid 24 hours of aches and staying in the bed not doing much. Been minor congestion and such as she heals but full energy to do things now. 5 year old and I both tested positive yesterday. 5 year old barely symptomatic at all. It was pretty mild for me on first 12 hours or so, but from 4pm to midnight I was wrecked with hot / cold flashes. I.e. beads of sweat off your head to teeth chattering and goosebumps. Been two nights now of very little actual sleep (just laying in bed tossing turning), and a low grade consistent headache has been noticeable too. Fingers crossed but I hope last night was the worst of it, seems mild based on rest of household. Never has a warm cup of coffee tasted so good though.

Oh, and if anyone was wondering, I'm vaccinated rest of family is not.  Last shot was in May though so out of 6 month window.

And last point, this has chanced my opinion on vaccines.  They don't do anything clearly.  My symptoms were at least as bad as my wife's if not worse.  We were preached about "herd mentality" which is obviously a crock of shit, even if 100% were vaccinated we'd all still be getting it.  Elderly should strongly consider getting them but any type of forced mandate is bullshit.  My opinion at least.  This is going to be no more effective than the annual flu shot which is 50-60% and we don't mandate those.  Get them in you're risk adverse but it doesn't guarantee shit.
