  1. My collection never reached the levels of a lot of people here.  Probably around 500 games.  Realized I would rather play games, tinker with mods/PCs, and travel.  Been downsizing to just the childhood stuff and some purchases I have made over the years.  Plenty of consoles are going in favor of emulation.

It doesn't hurt to make a change if your interests lie elsewhere now.  Start slow in a new direction and I doubt you will regret your choice.

I've been wanting to try this out. I last played BLOPS 2. There have been a lot of complaints online about excessive camping in this one. Specifically, with claymores and how the map design is a lot more cramped. Did you have any problems with this yourself?

The last Call of Duty I enjoyed was MW3. MW, MW2, and BLOPS were the big ones for me.

I don't find the levels much more cramped than my memory of the old ones. Blend of roads, open buildings, and cramped doorways/stairwells.  Sure I get killed by claymores or mines in some of those spots.  A lot of it has made sense since someone might be camping an overlook.

I have the core game selection running with nothing removed. Free for all would be the one I would shut off.  It's camp heavy.  I get hit by people prone in a corner a bunch. Otherwise it's been fine.

That is tempting. Are you sure you don't need Bloodstained C/E? 😛

Haha.  May add the option for trades later.  Looking to sell currently.  Open to offers on the bundle.

It's also worth noting that the parental controls app only keeps a year worth of data. I set parental controls up on launch day and I can only view back to December 2018. You'd have to take screenshots of the data if it's something you want to keep longterm.

I really wish they kept the 3DS activity log on the Switch. I always enjoy looking back and seeing what I was playing when and how much time total.

The lack of 3DS/Wii U activity tracker is a really odd backward step for Nintendo.  It's great tracking hours, games, etc.  Not sure why they let that feature go.

The switch has been overdue for a number of updates. Activity tracking, folders, background customization, etc.

I doubt it unfortunately. My guess is some modern regulatory standards would make it next to impossible to be able to manufacture them. They had a fair amount of toxic stuff in them

It's kind of funny that instead of making something resilient and repairable with a few questionable components we opt to make disposable electronics that just end up in the trash after a few years.  Not sure what the right choice is but I question what we are doing now.

More directly related, I would gladly take a new CRT at a premium if it were a quality product (PVM/BVM quality).  I wonder how they would compete with todays 4k HDR OLED panels.

  6. In order of priority

    Picross 2

    The Outer Worlds

    Pokemon Sword

Picross somehow took over my life the last week or so.  Close to being done.  17 hours into Outer Worlds and I'm having a great time.  I'm doing most every side quest and have two companions so I feel very over powered.  May have to up the difficulty a bit.  Pokemon is fun but I am just playing an hour or so a week until the other games are wrapped up.

Ahh well (both posts) that makes sense.  At $5 why not, and I can see that the haptic would make a decent replacement for a second stick, kind of mouse like or something being less rigid thank an actual stick.

I was a little unsure but was reading that people even stopped using keyboard and mouse.  The stream controller subreddit seems to be in agreement that you won't care for it at first but once you give it some time it's amazing.  I really hope to play cities skylines etc on the couch.

Sucks the Steam Controller wasn't on sale here in Canada, I kinda wanted one.

I know it came too $14 after shipping.  Not sure how much it costs for someone to mail it to Canada. Might still be a deal.

  9. I've put my CRTs into storage and may end up parting with them this coming year.  Everything is run off of my OLED.  My Famicom, N64, Dreamcast, Gamecube, and Wii have been HDMI modded.  Super NT handles the SNES.  The remaining consoles have been RGB modded and fill a basket with their cables.  This includes TurboGrafx, Snes, Virtualboy, Saturn, PS1, and PS2.  All of that is run off an OSSC with scart or HDretrovision cables.  Modern stuff is HDMI of course.

  10. It's in good shape still.  Kept in a case mostly.

The firmware is current but it's one of the early ones that is hardware vulnerable.  Been tempted to keep it for that reason alone. Play around with custom themes and overclocking.

  11. While not the big winter sale the steam autumn sale has started.  I picked up half life collection, roller coaster tycoon 2, and a steam controller.

With that new half life vr game announced it seems like a great time to finally play through the series.

OpenRCT2 has always sounded cool and being able to skip mouse/keyboard on the couch will open up a lot more options.

Still hoping to get Code Vein but debating on seeing if the winter sale has a better deal.

Anyone else pick up some cool stuff?
