Congratulations @docile tapeworm on taking the win on this terrible, terrible boring game. It is certainly no Mario 2, and absolutely no Mario World. But good job on breaking the 1 mil barrier! And congrats to @Dr. Morbis for the second place, almost clearing 1 million points too! And to our classic @arnpoly for securing the third place! Lads and gents, be welcome! We are about to start the 2ND ROUND of our BELOVED VGS NES WEEKLY Contest! We will have an action packed week this time around, with LOTS of shooting going on! Players, be prepared to tackle SMASH TV!!!! Clean up your pads and get ready to get cramps on your fingers from shooting so damn much! Unlike SMB3 rules, those are very kind to all of you: Play till game over Play 1 player. You can play 1 player 2 controllers if you fancy Take your picture at the game over screen or pause the game as you lose your last life to take the picture. If you beat the game, you can take your picture at the "total bonus" screen instead of taking it on the game over screen. Highest score wins Participation: 50,000 Genre: Action May you win many brand new toasters this week! The contest ends Sunday, 03/28/21 at 11 PM VGS time. Your user name MUST be written or typed on a piece of paper and be in the picture for your score to be valid. The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid. No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted. No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed. You must take a picture of your computer monitor. There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers. Also, the use of turbo controllers is forbidden, as well as any cheat codes, Game Genies, slow motion functions, or save states if playing on an emulator. Also, we will only be using NTSC systems for the contests. The use of PAL systems will NOT be allowed. Good luck everyone and have fun.

I am trying to come up with something different than our usual for Battletoads too.

That they have beaten 8 out of the 8 stages in world 1.

It is nice to see that you need at least over 253K and to beat world 1 fully to even place in the top 8.

Also, you all who have been posting score updates in a new reply would help me GREATLY if you instead edit and update the original score reply with the new score and post that you updated your score instead. It is a lot harder to tally the scores when you have like 5+ different scores posted around the thread.

After the bonus points for completing the level. You need to have at least 15K points and stage 1 beaten on the world map on your picture for you score to count.

No, no you aren't. Rules say progress + highest score. You didn't defeat Bowser castle and made to world 2 yet.

Skipping stage 4 counts against progress. I will amend the rules to state that if you skipped stage 4 and spawned the flying ship, you must take the picture and post it to show that you did such thing.

I surely hope that doing a score run in those rules take a lot less time than usual. It is what I was aiming for with them.

That is correct. You must have over 15K points at the end of stage 1 for your score to count.

Switch NES classics port is totally allowed.
