Kirby's Adventure NES: Thoughts?

I still think it's both aesthetically and sonically an absolute marvel of the console. It stretches the processing power to its absolute limits, and it's a blast to play. The amount of content - quality content - packed into said cart still blows my mind.

Kirby's Adventure weighs in at a whopping 6 megabits; SMB 3 had about half that, for context. I'm a massive mark for doing as much as you can with limited resources; the NES, and later games for it, excel on that level for me.

The only Kirby game I truly feel is a great gem is Kirby Super Star.  That is prob because the micro game approach gives it a lot more variety and replay value, trying to clear all the games and find all the things.  It is also a fantastic co-op romp.

Kirby on NES like much of the rest of the series, comes off as nothing special.  Cute easy mindless  white rice platformer, with bland enemies and stages.  It's still a fine playthru, I'd take it over 80% of the NES library, but nothing top tier.  Every time I crack into it nowadays, I find myself getting bored after just a couple stages.

I hate to admit it but this is 100% my experience.  I wanted to love this game, but I just find it to be too bland an experience.

Great game, though admittedly don't understand the character's hype.

the one universal truth.

Crazy how far things have come, I even now have fond memories of Electronic Boutique and in a way, they were the original Game Stop in how they operated back then.

Oh I 100% admit my nostalgia bias for Kirby's Adventure; the timing/age, and it being the first Kirby game I played, etc. All the Kirby games are great, I just have a soft spot for the NES outing!
