I see this as a win, and you now have a banana peel enqueue. Always drag a banana/shell behind you so it takes the hit of any red or green shells instead of you!

I'm driving with my daily banana in my hand today.  I'll be waiting.  Locked and loaded.

  2. After seeing this post I spent most of the night watching people on WhatNot.  While I cant speak to any rediculous prices for stuff, I can say a lot of small sellers had some pretty good stuff to let go.

Most of the people I watched had 20-50 people in their auctions and a lot of buyers got great deals on games.  I saw quite a bit of decent boxed stuff go for way under their perceived PC value.  I was actually pretty impressed.  Also most of the auctions were giving away quite a bit of free stuff (mostly games).  Of course there were a couple wackos that gave off some major bad vibes, but I just didnt bother sticking around.

One thing I do like is most people have a list of what is coming up in the auction. So for the most part you will know if you want to stick around for something.  And you can see what time they are going live; you can bookmark them and come back when it starts.

In conclusion without seeing any mega Chad's selling "grail" games,  I find that you could grab some pretty nice stuff for great prices depending on who you are watching.

Who knows you might get lucky every once in a while.

I dont know who the hell threw this banana at me this morning on my way to work but you're lucky I didnt have a turtle shell!

I came out to the parking lot after work and noticed this.  I was dying laughing.  Then the barrage of Mario Kart jokes came in as it was shift change and people were walking about.  What a good day!

  4. Went in to the local store today and they kindly showed me this.  It made my day because this is the first time seeing it in the wild and I actually got to hold it.

Sorry for the bad pics but their lighting is terrible in the store.

Now I will say I was a little perturbed to hear they took a magic eraser to it to get sharpie off the cart and LABEL?  Nooooooooo!  Whyyyyyyy!  Not this game.  Needless to say some of the texture was smoothed. Label has a little bubbling and the cart has some of that light white abraded coloring to it.

If anyone is interested let me know.  He said they would probably go down to $1400 US.

They also have it for sale on ebay which shows the board.  Here is the user selling it.Screenshot_20220324-154554_eBay.thumb.jpg.e50e8f3981ebfae7a864dcc47a238c73.jpg

That's pretty much exactly it.  My friends who own a game store told me about that exact thing happening on their auctions.  They told me they basically sold all of the "junk" games (stuff nobody would ever much want that sat on shelves for forever or trashed copies of games that do sell regularly) and that people went crazy bidding the prices up, usually at or above what normal condition copies of stuff go for.  I think it's just new, and people are getting into bidding wars the same way they did in the early days of eBay before people (and oh so many bots) figured out sniping as a means of getting what you want without the price getting astronomical.

That could actually be a blessing for all the run down mom and pop video game stores. They might actually get rid of some inventory.

I got fed up with gameeye as it seemed to lack some specifics, went right back to using my HTML on a free subdomain instead.

What was the biggest reason you quit using it?

I Have been using it for about a year. Mainly just to keep track of what I have so I dont buy dupes. My collection is much smaller than most on here though so I dont have an insane amount to keep track of, at roughly 300 games. I definitely dont trust the prices as they seem to be all over the place.

This is one of the reasons I wish US PS2 cover art followed the European look - I'm always jealous when I see European collector shelves, I love the uniformity of the all the white spines and black text.

@GlovesI see what youre saying now. It was a royal pain in the ass trying to find protective cases.  They vary too much.

I prefer consistency and steelbooks fly in the face of that, so I tend to avoid them.

I've had really good luck on ebay with them not being too messed up.  One has a scratch and a typical dent in the FFXII for PS2.  But damn they are fickle things. Sometimes I feel like my eyes are going to dent it.

Bump. Found the other FFVi shirt, just need the Secret of Mana poster

Does this poster come with the game or is it a separate one?  I have an extra SoM poster but it might be one that came in the game?  I'm not entirely sure

  11. Update 3/24/22:  I was able to just add another address field and fill it out, which worked with copy paste.  Trying to type the address still gave me the error "!!!!!!!!!!!".

I am trying to add a few local stores and I am unable to add a street address without getting an error message of exclamation marks in the field.  I am unable to fill it out and save the store entry.  Am I missing something?

  12. Those guides are pretty dang cool!  The issues with the cards are May 1993 and June 1993.  A coworker sold me all his childhood Nintendo Powers and these were mixed in with them.  Pretty awesome to get stuff like this from the original owner.  Coolest thing I ever got were Lego magazines; I wish I still had those! 😞

  13. Nothing special today.  Traded in some games for store credit and picked these up.  Ridge Racer is for the beat the N64 library thread and I like Smash a lot.

  14. I love collecting steelbooks! Some of the artwork is really great. The metal makes for some really cool cases.

Here is a thread to show off the steelbooks which bring you joy and add flair to your collections.

These are mine. A little Final Fantasy and Assassins Creed. With a neat Scott Pilgrim one for coolness.
