  1. Ah, Actually I am not sure if Pit plans to continue work on this game, I think he is also working on a gameboy version as well.

As far as defines, I guess I was just curious to see all the homebrew games that were physically released in 2020. Seems like quite a few this year 🙂

You should add a picture of the item people will get, box and cart.

That is good feedback. I'll revisit this on the site in a week or so once the dust settles on my kickstarter shipments.

All the little hamsters in my head are all hands on deck until I can get over that first USPS drop off.....lol

I've been building boxes, labeling carts, and packing orders in the evenings for the past couple of weeks. I think I may take an actual day off when all of this is done with...haha.

    Thanks duder

Nice @Raftronaut!  For future submissions, get the entire screen in the pic.

I'm curious, is this for authentication? Or to show that it wasn't save states?

One of my favorite features of the HZ cart is the flash save for hi score, I could easily re boot the cart and take a better photo. Although, I plan on topping that score, so I might as well wait for my next attempt 🙂

What does the t-shirt look like? Is it basically the box art? (Which is great, btw.)

The T shirt design is here, designed by our daughter currently in College for communication arts.

Thanks for the praise! I sunk a year of my life developing this game full-time, so I'm glad the reception has been positive overall. I've been a Kevin Smith fan for two decades, so getting the chance to develop this was huge for me. I hope that it shows in the final product.

Oh, the care you've shown in development is immediately evident as soon as you boot the cart.

Honestly, I thought I was pretty much over Beat em ups. They just burned me out in the 90's, but playing through this game totally rekindled my appreciation of the form. I was even able to invite a friend over the day I received it to play some socially distanced co-op on my cheap projector outside in my yard. The best way to experience a beat em up 😉

I was late to the party and never got a chance to pick up Eskimo bob or Alfonso's Adventure, at least I slept on them too long as I am now seeing they are sold out (congrats). So this is officially my first Spoony Bard cart and I couldn't be happier. I am really looking forward to see what you're going to follow this up with as I am now a fan 🙂

    -Best

Glad to see this bumped. Enjoyed reading the articles about it, and just backed the game at the LP level. Pretty cool to combine to things I love, music and NES.

Sadly no shipping to Taiwan (but there's shipping offered to Malta?!?...wtf?!?) so I'm having it shipped to my folks. With covid-19 though, I won't be seeing it for a few years I guess.

thanks for the interest! If you want to shoot me a message in Kickstarter I am sure we can work something out. I didn't offer any shipping to Asia because I don't have any experience shipping there, but mainly because I assumed there would be very little interest. HMU and I can work to make the shipping destination easier for you

  9. As a total aside from the current discussion, After playing this game for a week I completely love it.

It's a knockout homerun  my only possible complaint is that hard mode is hard....lol

I love the save battery, it never occurred to me a beat em up could benefit from this.  I love the pixel art, sprite work and music. I have a special appreciation for the thought and care put into the sound effects. The sound of the sock full of nickels made my audibly giggle several times while I played it.

I was prepared to be impressed judging by the trailer footage and screen shots, but here I am impressed even with my heightened expectations.

    Bravo Spoony Bard! Bravo...
