Oof, was not a fan of this game. I appreciate what they were going for, and the "live the cartoon!" hook is a decent draw.

However, for me the novelty of the premise was immediately overshadowed by the terrible controls, awkward fixed camera angles and simplistic "A to B" puzzles and gameplay.

Glad you and the kids were able to find some fun in it tho! 🙂

I had played it a few times before and quit halfway through the first level because of the horrible controls. If it was anything other than Scooby-Doo, it would have never left my shelf. BTW, I love all of the Scooby-Doo games on XBOX/PS2.

Is it true that the original Xbox makes for an ideal MAME arcade console?  I wouldn't mind setting up something like that someday.  How much could the Xbox's hard drive hold?

Very little off of original hardware. A standard XBOX mod requires an external harddrive replacing factory. Mine is 256 GB maybe?

  3. So far, the Ready 2 Rumbles have been the games that I enjoyed the most. I remember renting the first one as a kid and probably putting 20 hours on it in a week, but I forgot how good it was...Then again, maybe I'm just a sucker for boxing games...There was a kickboxing game on PS1 that I rented 3-4 times that I thought was amazing, but I cant remember the name...

I forgot how freaking hard Star Wars Racer is at the end game. I feel like a damn fool. I am gonna keep trying but in the meantime @Beliskner if you beat it first, go ahead and post it in here.

Lol. I was wondering if I was one of the few that couldn't beat that game. I have played through that game several times and have yet been able to finish it. Still such a great game though...

I can't speak to the quality myself, but for those claiming that the AtGames logo should say it all, I'm not sure that's a fair statement.  This thing is certainly not priced like anything AtGames has sold before.  I would at least try it out before walking away just on the brand name.

Agreed. Looking forward to hearing the reviews here

  6. Just logged in to NBA 2K18 on my Switch and found out the servers shut down which doesn't matter to me except for one thing: MyPlayer is gone, the only mode I played. After playing 150+ games building up stats for that player, all my progress is lost and I have little reason to play the game again. Current Gen games strike again...

You want to see how bad their prices are...look at their Xbox stuff...idk if they increased the original price so it looks like you're getting a deal or not but when you have a grungy game that's maybe worth $5 and the original price was $50 before the sale...yeah there's a problem.

The prices are ridiculous. No wonder they're going out of business...that and I've never heard of them...did they do much advertising?

Their XBOX games are specifically what I've been watching.

    1) The prices are 2-3x Ebay going rate

    2) Not one price has dropped since day one

As for JJ Games exposure, I only saw them on Ebay and I think most people knew them from Ebay. I struggle to believe SEO is what caused their downfall.

I think I used to buy NES carts from them years ago @ $3 off for every 3 carts. Their prices used to fluctuate heavily based on (i think) how many dupes of each game they had.

I assume the rules will be rewritten for better play balance and to generally be more fun than the original (like with the rerelease of fireball Island).

The original is a sort of competitive RPG where up to four heroes from four kingdoms are trying to win (don't recall the exact win criteria, but it involves visiting various settlements, collecting resources, and combat).

Classically, the combat was controlled by the Dark Tower, an electromechanical computer that stands in the middle of the board.

In the new version, some of that is moved to a companion app, but the tower still appears to feature prominently.

But the RPG gameplay appears to be considerably more involved if you want it to be, making for a deeper get than the original.

I would expect an extensive amount of story/RPG elements since Isaac Childress is a co-designer...This will be on most Gloomhaven-lovers' radar which is probably the reason it has been so successfully backed...
