  1. I have a crazy story on New Leaf. I have like a set of New Leaf prototype carts that were discovered at a swap meet in Florida about 10 minutes from where New Leaf carts were created. I forget all the details, I actually made a detailed post about it on both NA and Sega Age, but, well, yeah…

Three regular edition Ocarinas in 9.8, all from the case pack

    ZERO Collector's Edition in 9.8

    Zero Mario Party in 9.8

    Four Majora's in 9.8

    Zero Mario Golf

    Zero NFL Blitz

    Zero Wave Race

Idr the price for Warp CIB but I know Speedrun CIB is $170. I wish they revert back to $85.

Depending on how many pple send x number of sealed and CIB games in.

I hope so. I am refraining from sending anything right now. I read CGC hired several pple and will open sometime in 2022 but not sure when. No idea what there slabs will look like. More akin to Wata, VGA or something else? I hope it isn't anything like VGG. The abomination.

Being located with PSA is a major game-changer. They are reportedly grading a million cards a month and shipping them out, video games is a drop in the bucket for what they have set up. I've sent in 4 orders to CA, one was back early, and the other three two are Speedruns and were grading within a week and the other is a Warp, which went into grading the day after he was received. People I've spoken with that had games sent when CA first opened say everything is looking good, even with Speedruns.

The backlog seems to be operating on a different group, probably Denver. So they are making progress it seems, but they still don't have the resources CA has.

There are 2 angles to look at here:

    1. Is this a resealed compared with other counterparts sold in the US/Canada?

    2. Is this a genuine factory sealed as a local Taiwanese sealed variant?

The answer to question 1 does not give answer to question 2. I don’t claim to know the actual answer here, but I know sealed variants exist from country to country as I regularly see all sorts of sealed variants being from Australia myself.

Well, worth a shot, I suppose, but I've had similar types of seals for Genesis sent in from abroad and WATA rejected them. Is there anything that distinguishes this from an NTSC copy? Unless it's a documented variant, I don't think it will get certified.

  5. New stuff submitted is actually beating submission estimtes. I'd guess the backlog is being addressed in Denver and the new stuff in CA. Tons of people now are getting their older orders, so I'll bet they're caught up in the next few months and then everything is hitting turnaround times or better.

  6. This game is definitely re-sealed. It came only as a vertical overlap, and it should have a plastic hangtab on the back, though that in theory is possible to be removed. It's possible the contents inside are new, and it could grade as a high grade CIB, which is probably worth thousands, perhaps even in the low five figures. Getting this game above even an 8.0 CIB is next to impossible. 9.0 or higher should end up a 5 figure game, whether it's now or in the future.

Did pretty well I'd say, maybe was one of @ExplodedHamster under copies?  It's not the first time they've had high stuff in weeklies, they had a Castlevania go for $38k back in March on a Tuesday.  More recently was the GI Joe American Hero NES at $20k on the Tuesday directly after the signature.  That game had signature written all over it and should have bumped almost anything from the Halloween auction.

Yeah, it’s one of them. Don’t mind it in a weekly and thought it did well. That 85+ CE hit like 10k-12 in Goldin, so hard to complain (though VGA on N64 is such a crapshoot as they weigh wrap heavily). There will always be a huge difference between 9.6/A++ and 9.8/A++ for this title, plus that was the infamous July Auction (though I do think for this grade and title, that 228k price was reasonable and will grow long term). I do think a weekly limits the ceiling, but when you have 8-9 to go through (these were from that crazy casepack find), it’s understandable.

I prefer the standard, but democratic vote prob leans CE because shiny! I’m also not a huge fan of the game tbh. I put all my N64 time into Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64, and going back to try Ocarina was rough 20 years later.

Oh, you asshole, I was the underbidder lol. I actually grabbed that game in a crazy lot from someone off Ebay in like 2019, sold it, and was hoping to get it back. Nice buy. Not only rare, but one of the coolest covers around. The game is...not the worst game ever? Music is up there, though.

Am I missing something here? As far as I know PAL Mega Drive games were never sealed apart from a Sega sticker on the side of the box. So somebody just sold what is almost certainly a used copy of Sonic (with a crack at the top of the box no less) with a harvested sticker on the side (which you can easily find on Ebay) and sold it for $15,000???

Under the right light and with experience, it's pretty easy to tell if those SEGA stickers have come off/been reattached. Also, a lot of these came in blisters, which are super easy to tell if they've been tampered with.

@Maertens29, were you the buyer or seller??

I don't follow any of the other markets you're mentioning, so I'll take you word for it for the most part.

However, how does that explain all of the severe pushback on the contention/argument that these gains weren't organic, or really represent true, legitimate value?  Based on some of the conversations I see on here, Hertiage seems to play a big role in hyping up and selling all of the things you've mentioned, so I would think that would put more weight into the argument that markets they're involved in suddenly exploding basically overnight have something wrong (morally, ethically, legally, whatever) behind the scenes, not less.

Goldin has been the leader in sports cards, Pokemon blew up everywhere equally (Ebay, Heritage, Goldin [Goldin worked with Logan Paul, so maybe give them the edge]), Fortnite was almost entirely Ebay, and Bitcoin/stocks are, of course, Wall Street. This craze has been far from isolated to Heritage. Goldin chose not to do games at first, though now of course that the same company owns both WATA and Goldin, things have changed.

I don't, and rarely ever have had a ton of money to just up and throw at something, but I understand what a Ferrari is, its significance, etc., even though I can't afford to buy one (and wouldn't if I could).  Same goes for sealed, and even graded games.  I can understand and appreciate what they are even if they don't personally interest me and would mostly be out of my reach.  But when things grow naturally over the years then suddenly gain 10x, 100x, 1000x value often literally overnight?  Definitely fortunate for people who were in on the wave and wanted to make some money, but absolutely something fishy going on.

The problem is everybody leaves out context. Everything went crazy in both collectibles and crypto since 2019. Jordan rookies went from 20k to a peak of 750k within 18 months, Charizards went from 15k to 350k, Black Knight Shards for Fortnite cards went from $100 to $55,000, Bitcoin went from $3800 to $68,500. And with Bitcoin, people openly manipulate (hello Elon Musk) and people think it's all fun and games. Or what about Gamestop and AMC?

None of these spikes are sustainable at this rate, of course. People went crazy in games, yes. But they have gone crazy across the board.

Good luck finding an affordable copy unless your wealthy than nvm. First prints are both expensive and hard to find because there are a lot of reseals that look genuine. But if you're a fan of Bethesda and their franchises, its a must have for your collection. Oblivion first print are the T rating ESRB and Skyrim first print is the art cover w/o the 10/10 award.

He’s playing them haha, so they are opened.

But I actually do have both of those. I started looking in 2019. I also have an Oblivion with an M sticker, similar to an AO GTA. Total I probably paid about $150, nobody really noticed their rarity back then. Oblivions are really hard to get in good condition in particular. First print Skyrims are popping up on Ebay now because people have realized their value, but the natural flow of them for two years was shockingly low. These will dry out sooner than later.

Interesting, I'm sorta the opposite. I always used to play the 360 at my friend's house, so I never owned one until like a couple years ago!

Now I'm buying all the games for like next to nothing and having an awesome time digging into everything I missed! 😄

All you need is Oblivion and Skyrim and you're good for the next 3 years lol.
