  1. We were 8th/12 years to reach 400: 400 games beaten 2021 15-Jan 2015 16-Jan 2016 19-Jan 2014 26-Jan 2017 27-Jan 2018 30-Jan 2020 30-Jan 2023 06-Feb 2022 08-Feb 2013 17-Feb 2019 14-Apr 2012 26-Apr Doing slightly better the last week, so we may fare better on the next milestone: 450 games beaten 2021 19-Jan 2015 21-Jan 2016 31-Jan 2017 07-Feb 2020 14-Feb 2014 16-Feb 2022 05-Mar 2018 10-Mar 2013 02-May 2019 19-May 2012 07-Jun ...
  2. Great job! How many solo characters have you beaten the game with? I remember years ago, a guy on the Gamefaqs message boards was trying to do a solo run for each class (both with the class change and without).
  3. Solbrain (Shatterhand) finished. First time beating the Japanese version.
  4. 32 stages of Ice Climber beaten. Only 10 game overs in the process...
  5. I just checked the TAS, they take the following route: snow (2nd) water (4th) lava (2nd) water (2nd) final It looks like you played 1 extra level compared to that. Amazing job, BTW.
  6. It's seemingly a failsafe in case you get in a spot where there are no keys. First the doors open, then a little bit later the walls turn into exits. The game itself is very easy, though. Probably because it's a 4 player game, and I don't think the amount of food is different for a single player. Now Gauntlet 1, that's a hard game - even knowing what to do. Once you build up a decent amount of health, it's not much of a worry. I would guess that I played 2/3rds of the levels normally. Maybe closer to 40% of the time spent waiting, I guess. Basically just used to not have to deal with the more annoying/complicated levels.
  7. That's fine, we haven't required a better ending on that one. In the meantime, I've beaten Gauntlet II once again. It's about 2.5 hours to beat 100 stages, but at least half of that time is spent afk waiting for the walls to turn into exits (which takes a little over 2 minutes for each level you do that in).
  8. Cliffhanger finished. I got to the end of the game, but I couldn't knock the guy off the cliff while playing on Bizhawk? So I switched to FCEUX and it worked fine. Weird.
  9. Baseball Simulator 1.000 is defeated. I beat the Japanese version using the Americans, which is the same team as the Powers in the US version. They're one of the weaker teams, so it was a bit more difficult. Results: PA 1-14 AM AM 10-0 CE AM 12-2 GL AM 13-3 HE SP 0-12 AM
  10. 1942 is done. Played it on console instead of emulator last night, and it worked fine. Final score was 1,371,500 with a percentage of 87% (better than last year's 83%).
  11. Last night I was trying to beat 1942 again, which is not as bad as it sounds - it's relaxing in an rpg grinding sort of way. Just pure shooting with little in the way of variety (it's like the Uncharted 1 of NES shooters). Anyway, I got 75% of the way through it and the game soft-locked on the third boss. So that sucked.
  12. Got it, thanks. Gaia is crushing it this year. Can he finally beat nerdy, after three years in a row of being the runner up? Welcome back! Still plenty of good games left.
  13. I noticed that the win condition for Joust seems wrong. Looking at the archives, wave 16 was decided because that was the first appearance of the last enemy type, the shadow lord. However, that only seems to be true for the arcade version - in the NES version, his first appearance is on wave 21. So, it looks like it should be beat wave 21 instead.
  14. Classic Concentration - here's my new Miata for winning the bonus round (with zero seconds left).
  15. Speaking of Karnov, did you all know, there are only 4 games which have been beaten by a different person every year since this competition started (2012-22)? Karnov is one of those four, along with Bubble Bobble, TMNT Tournament Fighters, and Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego. Already, BlackVega beat TMNT:TF this year for a second time, so that's off the board, leaving three. mbd39's Karnov completion will ensure that at least one game will continue that streak into 2024. There were another 30 games at the conclusion of 2022 that have not had a repeat clearer, but also have not been beaten in every year.
  16. Heavy Barrel beaten, although I had to continue at the final boss (meh).
