  1. I just noticed we hit the 500 game milestone last night! It only took 17 days for the last 50 games, which is great. This is usually around the point where it starts to slow down a bit, so hopefully we can keep going strong this year. Maybe the closer race for 1st place will help? 450 500 Days 2012 07-Jun 22-Jul 45 2013 02-May 10-Jul 69 2014 16-Feb 09-Mar 21 2015 21-Jan 31-Jan 10 2016 31-Jan 21-Feb 21 2017 07-Feb 10-Apr 62 2018 10-Mar 11-Jul 123 2019 19-May 20-Jul 62 2020 14-Feb 01-Mar 16 2021 19-Jan 29-Jan 10 2022 05-Mar 15-Apr 41 2023 20-Feb 09-Mar 17 Our next goal... 500 550 Days 2012 22-Jul 16-Aug 25 2013 10-Jul 08-Nov 121 2014 09-Mar 07-Jun 90 2015 31-Jan 10-Feb 10 2016 21-Feb 21-Apr 60 2017 10-Apr 02-Sep 145 2018 11-Jul 13-Nov 125 2019 20-Jul 21-Oct 93 2020 01-Mar 31-Mar 30 2021 29-Jan 07-Feb 9 2022 15-Apr 23-Oct 191 2023 09-Mar asdf
  2. Greg Norman's Golf Power done. Even though it's not required, I played against and beat a cpu opponent. I may have had a large, 28 shot handicap that this screenshot doesn't show. Even without that, it would've been close, though.
  3. Gauntlet done. Was having a lot of trouble with the warrior challenge, so I just did an elf run for now. That's a lot easier to deal with, although it still took several tries of the last world.
  4. Bandai Pebble Beach done. Technically, it's under par with use of the handicap:
  5. I've been working on Gauntlet, trying to beat it with the warrior. Made it to the last password spot (level 79) with all the upgrade potions and max keys/bombs. Of course, that's only half the battle, since you have to do the rest of the game in one go and it's very hard.
  6. Double Strike done, very nice run with 15 lives left at the end.
  7. Of course I just abused it like you. Game is a lot of fun, though. I never hear anyone talk about it.
  8. Surprisingly, it wasn't that tough, Only took two attempts, first one ended right before the last few rooms. Thankfully, you can pause whenever you need to rest your thumbs. I've only played the SNES version a little bit, but it seemed a lot harder...
  9. I had a funny moment the other day playing Bo Jackson Baseball. It only takes 4 games to beat, so it's very simple for a 10 pointer. I got halfway through the playoffs with the Chicago White Sox, to the World Series. Unfortunately, I picked the Chicago Cubs as one of the NL teams, and they advanced as well. That's unfortunate because this game makes you pick which team is yours for each matchup ("NES" or "player"). It also doesn't list each Chicago team with a different name. That means upon getting to the World Series, I had to pick from the menu which team I wanted to be - Chicago vs Chicago, with no indication of which was which. So I had a 50/50 chance of picking the right team to control, and of course I picked wrong. Ugh. Anyway, we're at the 450 games mark. It only took us 14 days to go from 400-450. That's the 5th fastest out of 12 years. Days to go from 400-450 2012 26-Apr 07-Jun 42 2013 17-Feb 02-May 74 2014 26-Jan 16-Feb 21 2015 16-Jan 21-Jan 5 2016 19-Jan 31-Jan 12 2017 27-Jan 07-Feb 11 2018 30-Jan 10-Mar 39 2019 14-Apr 19-May 35 2020 30-Jan 14-Feb 15 2021 15-Jan 19-Jan 4 2022 08-Feb 05-Mar 25 2023 06-Feb 20-Feb 14 It's taken on average 44 days to go from 450-500.
  10. Demon Sword done. About 1 hour for this game, maybe 30 minutes for Lethal Weapon? Pretty good for the point values.
  11. Super Off-Road and MUSCLE finished. For the first one, I got somewhere around race 55-56. I know someone mentioned that game does technically end after the 99th race, but we haven't required that before and that seems a bit excessive. I guess a similar case would be Rally Bike, which does end after a second loop (with no ending, like Super Off Road. But at least that game has different scenes after certain races. In Super Off Road, you've seen the last new track on race 35, and the reversed version of that on race 43. So nothing new from 44-99, after which it just sends you to the high score screen, the same as a game over. I stopped playing MUSCLE after round 6, although I felt like I could've gone on a lot longer with some luck. Did you know that there's a Famicom game based on Ramen Man, one of the selectable characters from this game? Screenshots:
  12. Abadox seems kind of annoying based on the little I've played. Like, the hitboxes just seem a bit off. I enjoy Mother 1 because it's more open world than the other games in the series. And of course, the excellent soundtrack.
  13. Lone Ranger is finished! It's definitely brutal at parts, but it only took me two tries to beat the last boss. Thank god the game lets you skip half of the last area after dying. Like everyone else has said over the years in these threads, the game is quite fun and underrated, if you can get past the lack of checkpoints.
  14. Glad you didn't let the reset stop you. I've been playing The Lone Ranger, about 75% of the way through now. This will be my first new completion this year (that is to say, all the others I've beaten before).
