  1. If I have time, I will try to pop it in and play it tonight (most likely the Genesis version on the Mega Sg).  I always preferred Sonic 2 over 3, but 3 is still a great game.

The other question to ask is, do you play it by itself, or locked on to S&K?

Here is a list of platformer games that I have completed.  Like the FPS list, I'm believe there are more, but this is what I was able to come up with for now.  A few games on the list are puzzle platformers, but I feel those should count.

  6. I try to pick the description that matches my opinion of the game/movie/song/band and pick the number accordingly.  I try to be really picky about selecting a 10 and reserve that for my true all time favorites.  Although that last part is a relatively recent decision.  If you go back far enough, you will find I was more willing to hand out 10s.

  8. PLAY - Genre: FPS

Here is a list of FPS games that I have completed.  I'm believe there are more, but this is what I was able to come up with for now.  I'm counting the PS1 versions of Doom and Final Doom as separate titles from the PC versions because they are so different.  Also Duke it Out in D.C. is an expansion, but it feels like its own game to me.  However, even if they were to not count, the list would still be over 25.

    • Doom
    • Doom II
    • Final Doom
    • Doom (PS1)
    • Final Doom (PS1)
    • Quake
    • Quake III
    • Duke Nukem 3D
    • Duke it Out in D.C.
    • Duke Nukem Forever
    • Dark Forces
    • Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II
    • PO'ed
    • GoldenEye 007
    • GoldenEye 007 (2010)
    • James Bond 007: Agent Under Fire
    • James Bond 007: Nightfire
    • Call of Duty: Finest Hour
    • Call of Duty 3
    • Call of Duty: WWII
    • Medal of Honor: Frontline
    • Medal of Honor: Rising Sun
    • Bioshock
    • Bioshock 2
    • Bioshock: Infinite
    • Portal
    • Portal 2
    • Wolfenstein 3D
    • Wolfenstein: The New Order
    • Wolfenstein: The Old Blood
    • Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
    • Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six

I actually thought of Hugo's House of Horrors but wasn't confident enough to make a guess.

Always make a guess if you have any kind of idea.

If I'm not sure, I try to Google images from the game and see if I can confirm it.

Unfortunately, I never recognize any of this stuff (except for once when I got lucky).

  10. I still have all of my PC games, but sadly, I got rid of all of my PC boxes many years ago when I didn't have the room for them.  It was the same time I got rid of my gaming magazines.  Those are really the only gaming related items I've ever gotten rid of, and I definitely regret it.  My PC game collection is quite small, but some of the boxes were for games I have some really good memories of (Doom, Final Doom, Dark Forces, Duke Nukem 3D and others).

  11. I finished the game tonight and even went back in and tried a clear a little more of the map.  My stats as of this evening are below.  I did end up needing a guide in a few areas, and towards the end I used a map to locate most of the areas I was missing.  I think I will go back and try to knock out the last few % points tomorrow.  I don't know how long a typical playthrough for this game usually lasts for someone who is familiar with the layout, but it obviously took me a pretty long time with lots of extra backtracking looking for stuff that I missed the first time around.  It sort of reminds me of the days when I didn't know Super Metroid like the back of my hand.

In general, I think this game deserves the praise it gets.  I thought the challenge was pretty tough, although it's worth mentioning that I've never been very skilled at the few Castlevania games I've played.  I definitely needed the Crissaegrim to beat the game.  The game is absolutely beautiful and makes me wish we hadn't ignored 2D games during that era the way most did.  The soundtrack is also amazing.  The boss fights were more frequent and unique compared to Super Metroid and of course the leveling system and inventory system was completely new for me.  I wish the inventory system was easier to organize, but that's a minor gripe.  I also wish some of the areas in the reverted castle didn't have as much slow down.  This game definitely makes me want to look into more of the Metroidvania style Castlevania games.

  12. Does deleting an account remove all posts?  If so, I would highly recommend against doing that.  If someone wants to leave, they certainly have that option, and I wish them the best.  But you can really jack up some threads if posts start disappearing.

I have seen people also put a spacer in the back of their longbox games in a Billy to make them sit closer to the front.  It feels like a bit of a waste, to me every bit of storage I can wrangle is a boon

I don't have those types of shelves, but I've considered it.  My plan for the empty space behind the games was to store video game related stuff that I didn't care to have on display.  That way the space isn't wasted.

  14. I made it to the inverted castle last night.

I will say this.  The longer you play the game, the more you enjoy it.  At the start of the game, I was only playing in 30 minute spurts and then taking a brake for a day.  Now that I'm well into the game, I'm playing for hours at a time and not wanting to stop, and only stopping because it's midnight and I have to work the next day.

Actually, I do.  At one point, someone had a pile that they were giving away or for dirt cheap on NA.  Oddly enough, it _feels_ like that might have been you. I don't have a list but I'll see if I can take some photos in a bit.  I didn't think to list those since most are common but, eh, you never know what people need?

I don't recall that.  I have a pretty large pile of PS1 manuals for games that I don't own, but I don't remember ever trying to sell them.  Might be a different story, but I remember someone at NA selling a huge list of PS2 inserts for super cheap.  I managed to fill in nearly all of the disc only PS2 games that I owned at the time.

  16. This debate has sparked my interest enough to get me to give this game another go.  As mentioned before, I tried to play this game several years ago and made it a decent way into the game.  I got away from the game, not due to lack of interest, but because of other things going on at the time and after a while too much time had passed for me to just pickup where I left off.  As a few nights ago, I started from scratch and I'm attempting my first full playthrough.  I'm going to try and do it without a guide, so we'll see how far I can get playing it that way.  Despite the fact that I did start this game a while ago, it's fair to say I remember maybe 5%, so it's sort of like seeing everything for the first time.
