  1. Capcom Belt Action Collection CPS II eCapcom exclusive box only

I could try eBay for 1$ but if someone wants it, it's yours.

I packed it in a sturdy box, so the total weight is a bit high at 0.815 kg.

Shipping will be 22.5 usd by air with tracking and insurance, or you can go the IMFEELINGLUCKY way and pay 11.5 usd for surface mail which also has tracking and insurance, but may take up to 3 months with higher risk of damage.

Left side has  sunfaded, but otherwise the thing is new.

    This...

It's rumored they recorded the video using a smartphone.

So I finally took some time to play around the game a bit more seriously, and it's crap.

It's a cool oddity but I wonder if even hardcore train fans actually enjoyed this when it came out. The actual game is boring as hell, and the video quality is shockingly bad. The sides of the video when the train slows down make it clear this was recorded like shit, and you can see the single frames moving one by one. I understand this was 2006/7 but man is it bad.

The only 3D animation in the whole game is the speed lever in the bottom right corner of the dashboard. All the rest is basically static or just 2d icons. The video part is blurry and low-res.

Now for the sound part, they seem to have used real train announcements in Chinese and English, with different voices which are clearly from Chinese people even when it's in English - which seems genuine.

What's hilarious is the train warning voice, which is in English by a guy who's obviously German with the most heavy accent you have ever heard. Seriously. I doubt this is the real train voice. Most likely they only managed to find this German guy somewhere in Taiwan and asked him to record a few lines. Couldn't they find a British or American guy? Or even any other stranger with a more decent pronunciation? Even me would have sounded much better, yeah it's that bad. I still like to believe this is the real train voice, maybe the warning system is from Germany and they really recorded a German guy? It sounds absolutely hilarious and terrible at the same time. You have the cute woman speaking in Mandarin, then another woman with funny Engrish, and every time the speed limit changes you have this ridiculous German guy shouting ALLOWED SPID WAN WAN ZEERO.

Outside of the train thing, the game has barebone text info about the train and train infrastructure, and the rest is text and a single photo of local tourist spots near each of the train stops. With phone numbers and address, from 2007, super cheesy advertisement. No videos, no zoomable map, nothing.

Conclusion: what were they thinking, really?

  3. That's exactly the one I have. I have seen several, so it's not extremely rare, but cool.

Are you sure it's not the final code? I haven't compared it to the final NTSC-J or NTSC-U/C code, but I recall it being 100% same as final, that's also what a bunch of guys said back then when I purchased it.

I'd love to know what the differences are, if there really are any! 🙂

  4. Yeah they're hard to find for decent prices nowadays. I paid 80 usd for mine, I said to myself, even if it's empty or flashed at home, it's still worth the price of the dev cart itself, since it looks super clean and new.

have you seen ps1/ps2 contra discs with "confidential / embargo until xx / xx date" ? I have one for another konami game, and it seems to have the final code inside. probably given to third parties very close to release date for promo purposes

  5. I see, thanks. I have a similar cart for GBA but it looks lika a long GBC cart with a PCB sticking out. It contains Harmony of Dissonance. Supposedly the final code, but it was cheap and barely advertised so I trusted the seller it was real.

I understand they can flashed which makes them an easy target, like you say.

I think it's more suspicious when a seller tries to ask large amounts of money, for obvious reasons. Was that one sold?

  6. Yes, I'm sure it was a US copy of the game, not the music sampler CD. What I can't remember is whether it was the original print (with black disc cover) or the reprint (with silver disc cover).

Sorry this sounds like I had a dream or something, but I really saw it 😄
