Oh yeah. I'm aware. I have a bunch of pirate big boxes. They're pretty close to legit stuff so I don't really mind.

I still play Generals from time to time. Mainly ZH with the Shockwave mod, lol. I'm one of the few to have a North American big box of Generals and Zero Hour... and also ZH for Mac. lol

Golly. That's a lot of NES. I grew up on a ton of that stuff. The memories~ I think I mentioned in my main thread, but I am a Command & Conquer fangirl. While this is quite a lot of my collection, it's so woefully outdated now but things are scattered from a recent move. Anyhow, I have a huge collection of these games, unofficial addons, variants, regions/languages, demos/promos and a little merch. There's console stuff tucked in there too. Got some wildly hard to find stuff in there too. Been a load of fun getting things and tracking down the elusive stuff, but still more to go!

This is more "laws haven't caught up to technology" than anything else. Governments are slow to change and you know digital distributors will fight this tooth and nail to stop it. However, I think it will eventually change but I don't believe it will be a 1:1 equivalence with physical products. I wouldn't say this is over and won't change. Might take a while but I'm certain it will eventually change.

Oh heaven's no. I won't be posting any bouncy covers or anything. I just allude to my collection of R18 games. I'm not going to be flooding a site with pics. I'm not that salacious... in public! Goodness... what did people do to my precious thread. Actually, it takes me back to the time when forums were all the rage. Oh how I miss those days. The NES has a few spicy-esque games on it... but you're better off with PC for those... or the Saturn if you're super adventurous. If you wanna learn more, well... you'll have to get my Discord. lmao I mean, I could but I don't want the admins mad at me!

I just started googling around for collecting forums really. Found it that way. I don't have a VR headset. I got motion sick with one last time I tried. However... spicy games... it's hentai. Lots of it. Calling it spicy is just me being silly and I hope it catches on cause it's fun!

I dislike this time of year, but not because of the holidays. It's more nebulous than that. While I love going on walks while snow falls to the ground and the skies are gray, wintertime always kicks my depression into overdrive. The entire time I've been off work, my mood has tanked. The constant darkness, the stifling weather, the work stress... it all piles up and drives me bonkers. Spending time with my fam is the only highlight over this time of year.

You won't get a "video game" specific policy, but you can still insure your collection from damage, theft, etc. It's just part of homeowner's insurance. I'm pretty sure you need to be the policy holder, but this is possible and will be paid out. Someone in another server had his games and house flood damaged and he got paid out. Could check into these guys: https://collectinsure.com/ I have no experience, but they're more tailored to collections. While they don't have video games specifically, you can specify it as "Other." Most prominent, relevant result I found.

Being a PC gamer by and large, this doesn't surprise me. The convenience of downloading a game versus physical media is almost impossible to beat. Sure, we might want physical media, but your average gamer? They don't give a damn. They want to play the games so digital downloads are their go to. I built my current PC last year... and it has an optical drive. I never build PCs without one!

I had something like this happen earlier this year. I bought a supposedly "BRAND NEW" Metroid Dread CE, but it wasn't. There was creasing on one side and I could tell the bottom sticker had been lifted so SOMEONE had opened the goddamn thing. I got $20 back so ~$80 for it was a pretty decent price.

It really depends on the game. If it's not a franchise where I variant hunt, I don't care what print it is as long as it's not an obvious re-release. As long as the thing is complete and box is serviceable, I'll buy it. I've gotten subpar boxes, but I do a little repair work and get it back to... normal... ish. First prints are nice, but I don't want to pay a premium for it either. Minty boxes... also nice, but again, I don't feel like paying a premium just for a slightly nicer box. I'll take something slightly beat up, give it some love and put it in the collection where it goes.

I could post everything I have pictures of, but that would just bombard everyone and I dunno if people would like it much! hehe~ However, I'll have a little fun with some of my 2022 highlights. I don't get things quite as much as I used to, but there's still plenty of goodies to be had. These aren't the only things I got during the year mind you, but these made me super happy to get. The main freight shipment took over a month to arrive but it was filled with Call of Duty goodies, but it was coming from mainland China. That can take a while. At least the Black Ops 2 steelbook came faster! I had another 10kg haul from Japan this year. Unfortunately, I can only show this batch of games from it. The rest are far too spicy for general audiences. HL2 and the SK Starcraft weren't from Japan but I got them at the same time. I am a C&C fangirl of fangirls! In fact, I have one of the largest C&C collections worldwide. Particularly proud of that! Tiberian Sun and Firestorm are mainland Chinese copies. RA3, RA3U and TT are Taiwanese releases. Nothing like rare soundtracks for your collection. I about lost my mind when I ordered both of these. I'm an absolute sucker for saucy games. My boyfriend rolls his eyes every time stuff like this comes in. lmao

I'm one of those wacky PC gamers, but I do own a Switch and some other things. Mainly a PC gal though.
